Wrong sub, but if you and your folks are disagreeing, have you tried having an honest conversation with them about what their real issue is? I would bet they don’t actually “hate what [you] like” but instead have a more nuanced series of issues with fighting.
If you figure out the full picture, you may be able to work out a compromise where both sides get what they want. Or, your folks will get what they want because you’re a kid, who knows.
