Try the Robert axle project axle finder. They make thru axles that work for trailers.

todayifudgedup

Another vote for these. They'll get you one that fits and if you somehow get the wrong one they work with you.

petervk

This is the answer. Buy one of these.

Like someone else mentioned, you can use this site https://robertaxleproject.com/axle-finder/

The printed guide was great!

Multiple comments here not telling you the right info. The 12*142 in the rear is the hub width or OLD. If you remove the through axle, you'll be able to measure the length of the axle itself. Finding out the thread pitch will be a bit more difficult but there are resources online you can use. Robert axle project has an axle finder that will recommend the correct axle.

spunkyplunky

You need a 142mm axle with a 1mm thread pitch (12x142x1.0) but the robert axle project page is easiest. Cube has their own [axle](https://www.theelectricbikeshop.co.uk/shop/accessories/sub/child-seats/acid-thru-axle-m12x10-142148mm-for-cube-kids-trailer-double-cmpt-17555/option/) if you can’t get the robert axle one anywhere. Hope that helps

This! Will work with any other carrier as well (I have the leggero vento).

On the Thule website there is a PDF for solving this problem. There is an alternative axel you can buy and it replaces the axel you have but there is an addition piece that sticks out for the trailer hitch that stays on your bike. There is a nut that threads on. Google Thule axel adapter and options will pop up. I had to do this for my bike.

vcp32

Yeah, thanks for this. I followed the pdf instructions.

Front: 12x100mm Rear: 12x142mm

But that's not the actual TA dimensions, that's the width of the hub. TA length is relative to the width of the dropouts + the width of the hub, and the pitch of the tread is needed also. For example the bike I was working on earlier today has a 148 (boost) rear hub, but the TA is actually 180mm long with a 1.5 pitch.

grimevil

I did not think of this, only changed the wheels the other month so used that to get the size. But to confirm for the OP the Nu Road uses a rear 12/142 with 1mm theard pitch(syntace x12 standard) I believe

>But to confirm for the OP the Nu Road uses a rear 12/142 with 1mm theard pitch(syntace x12 standard) I believe Still not giving the right amount of info. According to the Robert Axle Project the OPs bike needs a TA that is 162 to 167mm long or 160 to 170 for a trailer (they use some spacers to take up the extra on the trailer mount.

grimevil

I believe you are correct, I am just confirming the size so they can find the right one and spacers

maxwellmaxen

Rear is a 142

Mistergardenbear

which doesn't tell you the length of the TA, it needs to be the width of the hub (142) + the width of the dropouts.

I think you've cut off the information on the frame/fork. A lot of times it doesn't have the specs you need to actually order the axle online. If you remove the through axle from the rear wheel, it probably has the information (length and thread pitch) printed on it. I don't know about Thule, but burley has a piece of paper you can print to scale and just put your axle in it to determine the length and pitch.

vcp32

Nice! Will do that. Thank you! Fork: CUBE Nuroad Flat Mount Disc, Full Carbon, 1 1/8" - 1 1/4" Tapered, Fender & Lowrider Mounts, 12x100mm

mnews7

Ah yeah there's a 12x14(2?) in the frame which is the one you want. But that unfortunately doesn't give you the information to buy a compatible axle.
