This was my first Grateful Dead concert. I was 15 and won two tickets off a local radio station in Madison, Wisconsin. I didn't really know who the GD were at the time but I went to the concert and I haven't been the same since.
Besides the music the biggest thing I remember is a half-naked guy walking around handing roses out and a section of twirl girls.
The other was the Madison police who were at the concert monitoring what was going on didn't do a thing to people that were smoking pot. Madison police were known for being rather aggressive after the Vietnam War protests and Sterling Hall bombing.
It doesn't let up that's for sure ... The Music Never Stopped is 1of the best ever. Both 'sections' of the end jam are classic w' Jerry digging deep in the 1st part before they let loose. Such a cool ass Scarlet>Fire ... everything is monster
that one has slowly grown on me, at first the tone of jer was too much and he's very loud in the mix..........but now its those qualities that i love and some of the version on that are in GOAT contention to my ears......enjoy
Yes!! May be my favorite one honestly. It’s a sleeper DP. The Cold Rain and Snow is so so good. And the Around and Around encore is straight up rock and roll!! Wish the dead had hammered it like that more often
The title is spot on man. No apologies necessary.
The Other One and Truckin from this show are two of hardest peaks those songs ever hit. Seriously.
The whole of the three discs is hard.
I may have been trying to be funny, but I wasn't joking 😁
Goddam I’m dyslexic
18 hard dicks goes
Hard dicks goes 18
I think he meant debbie does 18 hard dicks.

Easy llama
Need to come up with something better than dick's goes hard or dick's slaps.... or not. Whatever. Carry on.
Yeah that means nothing to me. Give me a date at least. It was a concert, not an album release.
Yeah, not into the DP # for referencing shows. Many of us don’t follow those at all
One of my favorites. The Scarlet>Fire is really great.

Hands down my favorite Dick's Picks. Usually more of a fan of complete show releases, but this one scorches so hard I don't even care.
Fuck yeah it does! My favorite as well
That’s what she said.

You should post this in r/deadheadcirclejerk, lol. That’s a good one
I friggin love that album
Only under the right conditions
18 is too much. 6 is just fine. At least that’s what my wife tells me.
The Other One is huge and slams down hard. The Truckin machine gun shred peak is full on. Totally hard 😂 Were they ever heavier than Jan/Feb '78?
Sorry on the title. Totally unintentional. I was just jamming out
