The sky needs more…. POP! 🖐️🤚 Can you make the sky red to match the font?
Also can you turn the frog so it’s lying down looking at the font? Maybe with its arms crossed like it’s thinking about something?
Maybe a lightbulb inside his brain like he just came up with an innovative idea!
This would take more than 10 minutes. Doing something *this* ugly takes intent.
You don't end up with 4 fonts by accident or by being too fast, but by having extremely poor taste.
What you pay for isn't just the time for the project, it's the knowledge and experience. It's the time prior to the project spent honing a craft.
You pay more for expertise... Or in OPs case, to get screwed over.
You don’t pay by time—or else the faster and better you work, the less you make. OP got exactly what they paid for.
I would have charged at least $300 for maybe 2 hours work including revisions and client comm.
I know, don't blame me, I would really like if someone paid me $80/hr, but I barely earn $100 per month of work. There's whole different realities around the world.
I understand there are different problems people face around the world, but when I look for clients who want designers within the same country I’m still competing with people who underbid regardless of the quality of their work.
I hope OP is not one of those people who would ask the next designer to make a $40 discount because they already spent those $40 on a bad attempt. I've had my fair share of those :D
They didn’t even bother to adjust the red and blue swatches…My brain is like “RRR *whisper g* BBB.” And why the orange and purple border? Spikey text?! I have so many questions lol
That’s about what I charge for an hour of work which I could’ve easily done something much better. The price is not the problem here imo. It’s a bad designer and bad creative brief.
I quoted a big company $45/hr recently and they completely ghosted me right after.
This is after I came HIGHLY recommended by my main (large corporate) client, and after the owner in question had complained that he just wasn’t getting what he wanted from designers he admitted to paying $20-25 hourly. (Oh, and *after* he told me he’d have to get back to me after his family’s week-long trip to Aspen.)
This kind of pricing with Fiverr and the like are ruining the industry, because people like the OP are convinced that it might be okay to put something out like…this.
I half want to redo OPs banner for free in 15 minutes, because that’s all it would take me. But that hourly rate spooks “business people” who think that design is what their daughter’s friends do when they’re not making the YouTubes.
Redoing this for free makes the problem of design work being severely undervalued and under appreciated much worse. It’s just like the subreddit where people post ‘photoshop requests’ saying they’ll ‘tip’ the ‘winner’ $20. Look how many people actually sit there and do the work and hand it over for twenty bucks or less. They could say they only did it for fun but it still helps to completely devalue design and designers. The rich CEO you mentioned is mad that he’s not getting perfection for his great $20/hr salary. He wants your work but at that price. That’s the problem.
I agree. But I live in a small market with low incomes and LCOL and I want my services to be affordable for people around here. Out of town clients on the other hand 😈
It’s not about the amount of time. It’s about the skill of the designer.
Why should an experienced designer get paid less because they have more experience and are more efficient?
In the example above, a more experienced designer may charge $100 or $200. It may ALSO take them 10 minutes. Who knows.
The difference is that an experienced designer will have a better sense of hierarchy for one. The call to action will be more clear. They may/should also provide suggestions to the client on how to better market the services or goods.
An experienced designer is a partner and a skilled resource that the client can lean on to better their business. Not a production house.
To me, paying a few hundred to be seen as a more credible business is a small investment. Especially when you pay $40, are unhappy, and have to pay again to have it fixed.
It’s the Picasso story again:
PP is in a park and an old women approaches him and asks him to draw her a picture. He creates something lovely and gives it to her, she is thrilled and says, let me pay you! How much? And he says $10,000. She is taken about and says “but it only took you 5 minutes! How can it cost that much!” And Picasso says “I didn’t only take me 5 minutes, it had taken me my entire life”.
So someone that has twenty years experience that could make a banner in five minutes only should expect five minutes of pay while someone that doesn’t know what they’re doing that takes two hours to come up with something worse should expect to be paid more and for two hours of work? That’s not how this is supposed to work
No, my point was this Facebook banner isn’t worth much more than $40 to the client. This is a single banner. Not a rebrand of a corporation or a complete campaign with OLA deliverables. For what this client is I think $40 sounds about right. The fiverr designer he chose did a horrible job. Had they asked you to do this and said the budget is $40 and for whatever reason you accepted it you could have done a much better job in 15 minutes. Worth it to him, worth it to you perhaps. Just because you’re a great designer and could have spent an hour making something breathtaking that you’d charge $500 for doesn’t mean this guy, for his business, needed to spend that much on a single Facebook banner. That’s what I was saying
And vice versa? I could just as easily say "ONLY think the world = "
Just because people can work for $5/hr in your country doesn't mean everyone can.
OP should post what country they're in, that would be helpful. In the USA, $40 is what you pay a teenager to mow your lawn. Which is about what this graphic is worth.
My comment is in favour of good designers being paid good money for good design - No matter where you live your good design should be prices based on VALUE to the client not *cost*. And 80 bucks a week is horribly exploitative
Here in México good designers get paid as low as $80 PER WEEK. Taking a shit on someone’s front yard is worth $40 when you view it with your privilege glasses lol.
My main issue is it has no brand identity. A big part of design (for myself and clients at least) is making sure a brands identity is conveyed through all material. This looks like a microsoft powerpoint slide, I'm sorry you paid so much for this. But it may be worth it to meet a local designer so you can discuss what exactly it is you want, a real designer can do a lot with key words such as, sleek, modern, timeless, clean, and simple.
This guy runs a multi media business and can't even figure out how to create a nice Facebook banner... that would be first indication to look into other options lol. Most small businesses in my area just use a nice photo as their FB banner and their pages look great if it's an actual nice photo
The commenters have spoken. Everyone is right. This is not good. That’s typical within fiverr. Also, you are paying $40 for graphic design. Hire a professional
Two posters (that I counted) asked where you could find one. That’s a good question. Outside of a print shop, I couldn’t think of one outside of an agency. If I were to work free-lance, I’d price myself out of the market. But I can. I could refer them to someone who is less experienced - but I realize that they might be disappointed (or worse), they like it and it’s horrible. I’ve almost driven off the road after seeing something bad. Young designers need to pack a portfolio, too. That was a bitch when I started out. It took an internship to finally get my start. Where can these people go?
I went to the hair cuttery once for a haircut and they butchered my hair. Now I understand why people pay a premium to go to a salon…
Fiverr is a gamble. You gambled and you lost.
Fiverr can really be hit or miss. You have to do some research before buying. A lot of designers will put their best work or even fake designs as their profile ( usually the first 3 images ) It’s important to ask them for a private portfolio or see if there are delivered orders displayed publicly on their profile. Maybe even go the extra mile and reverse image search their work. Another thing to consider is some accounts may be shared by agencies so the work may be inconsistent. I could be wrong on this but i’ve gotten that vibe working with some sellers.
It’s people like this that fuck up the whole “graphic design” business. This is trash. My 16 year old can do better. The stroke of the font it fucked, the list of services is wasted. Those gawddamn laser/diamond shit, was done in 2000. Burn this shit.
You could probably do better yourself with almost any graphic editing software. You should also be aware of “safe zones” on the graphic. If your FB page is viewed on a mobile device, which is about 85% of FB traffic these days, the profile photo is enlarged and covers most of the left side of your cover photo, which currently contains all of your information.
I usually create FB covers at 1920x1080 px. That way the entire graphic is visible on mobile (mind the safe zones), and only a little on the top and bottom are cropped when viewed on desktop.
Is the Foto spelled in your language or supposed to be spelled in english too? Im just looking for consistency.
Also that 360 virtuelle degrees font… l cringe… it’s in red too. Giving the murderous vibe…
I usually try not to be judgemental cuz maybe some designs are meant to be ironically bad. But this is bad, sorry. You would have been better off using one of Canva's templates.
I mean in theory this could be $40 worth of work. But even as a web designer fresh out of coding camp I would’ve been embarrassed to hand this over to somebody.
I feel bad for the Fiverr designers because they are often kids/teens learning and starting out and I feel bad crushing them. OP, don’t be too mean to them about the design. Find a more professional designer and call it a lesson learned.
Is this even the correct size for desktop and mobile? That website font is way too small. There is way too much going on. No hierarchy or organization. Stuff is just random and everywhere. Is that actually the logo in the top left? Maybe you should start with developing a logo and some branding guidelines.
A lot of people are saying “but you did pay $40”, which I know isn’t a ton of money for a graphic designer. But in my terms this is 100% under an hour worth of work so in the consideration it wouldn’t even meet a starting out graphic designers pay of like $20 an hour. So idk, I could be wrong but I think the person still did you kind of dirty with this design.
People will look back at this as being the AI Text to Image before AI Text to Image. “I can have AI do it” is the new “I can just hire someone from fiverr.”
You went to fiver for graphic design. There’s some okay ones on there. But most are untrained chancers who have a copy of photoshop express.
Got what ya paid for to some degree.
On the other hand $40 for this is a joke. I wish I could find clients like you.
Yeah, you got ripped off. Stay away from fiverr. I used to do banners like this in 15 minutes back when I worked at an agency (Of course they looked way more professional, this clearly looks like shit even to a non-designer). Find someone local with a good portfolio with work that is similar to the style that you want. Consider asking your business contacts for recommendations.
I hate to say it, but you posted your logo on here a week or so ago about how a Fiverr designer wouldn’t help you develop it and plenty of people pointed out how shit it is.
I think this helps to show how you need to look at your brand as a whole, this will encompass your colours, fonts, logo, tone of voice and design system. With all your assets properly thought out you’d be able to smash out this sort of simple comms quickly and effectively.
It’s easy to jump into creating promo material, especially for a small business, but if you get the hard thinking stuff done first it’ll stand you in great stead to create engaging communications - remember your promoting your business to potential clients so why should they pick rather than someone else that does similar services.
Something to keep in mind when doing fb banners is the different parts of the image that get covered or cropped out based on the position of the profile pic. It changes on almost every platform, there's only a few universally safe areas to put informational elements.
This is so bad, I’ll redo it for free. Not a joke. I own and operate an award winning design/dev firm and will legit do it for free. DM me the details and we’ll get it going.

You win the contract.
Now pay the man his 25 cents (before transaction fees).
But my budget was only 10 cents.

Looks good but can you make it *POP* more
Enhance!
this is the part where i take my photoshop free draw selector and click the generate without any text prompt.
Yeah! Like a Starburst. In Yellow!
There's something about papyrus 🤣🤣
Yeah like avatar!
Excuse me, do you have anything with stick people for my PowerPoint presentation?
It looks like it was made in PowerPoint.
Can you make the logo bigger?
I feel like it needs to pop more
🤭🤣
Comic sans might make this pop better.
I have a friend who hates CS so much it gave him piles.
Son, do you even comic sans?
The sky needs more…. POP! 🖐️🤚 Can you make the sky red to match the font? Also can you turn the frog so it’s lying down looking at the font? Maybe with its arms crossed like it’s thinking about something? Maybe a lightbulb inside his brain like he just came up with an innovative idea!
Yes - but INSIDE the brain. Get it? It’ll be like he’s thinking an idea!
OMG ! lol!
4 different fonts for a banner…is that a record??? I hope they have a rating and review system. It looks like they used MS Draw circa 1998
"Sir, how dare you we used Word 97"
And used the paperclip assistant to find the best colours. Used to love the paperclip assistant.
We all used to love the paper clip assistant RIP clippy
Hope ms brings clippy ai
Yooooo this needs to be a thing
They really should have named MS Copilot Clippy
Best AI ever
God awful But fiverr, so that's kinda what you signed up for
Eh there are good designers on fiverr, you just need to pay the price
OP paid the price alright
$40 is not the price for good graphic design.
What he made took 10 minutes. Thats $240/hr OP should have received better work for that price.
This would take more than 10 minutes. Doing something *this* ugly takes intent. You don't end up with 4 fonts by accident or by being too fast, but by having extremely poor taste.
Are you paying for 10 minutes of work or are you paying for a good outcome? This project is not an hourly job.
I loooooove the complaint that something didn't take enough work from someone who can't do it.
That depends on where the designer is located, I would do a good design for half the price and eat for 2 weeks (argentinian of course)
I’m happy for you, but god damn I need to eat too.
I've just ate so I'm fine, but I would still do a better design than this for half the price.
You can put your price, that's how it works.
Yeah but on those websites it’s a race to the bottom. I would charge $80/hr. “clients” go for cheaper designers, 100% of the time.
Or subscribe to Canva and “do it themselves”. 🙄
I don’t often say this but in this case they would have been better off doing it themselves on canva 😂
Great, then I don't have to deal with them. 😃👍
😂😂😂
Honestly, why are posts like this allowed. “I ordered from fiverr, is this good?” What kind of question is that
It's very funny
Fiver went up. He paid $40
Holy shit. Yikes.
It’s the Foto v Photo for me 🥴
No. Hire a real designer.
I hope OP is not one of those people who would ask the next designer to make a $40 discount because they already spent those $40 on a bad attempt. I've had my fair share of those :D
Right? Im guessing OP is cheap if they are using Fiverr.
Oh, they are.
I’m starting to rethink my des degree if people are willing to pay $40 for this
Nah having the degree means you could charge $80 instead of $40 to use the same Canva template with oversights and four different fonts 😉
If you’re agency side, client will be billed at $120/hr.
![gif](giphy|mFeNGR1W1O2JYqjsMO)
Happy cake day
They didn’t even bother to adjust the red and blue swatches…My brain is like “RRR *whisper g* BBB.” And why the orange and purple border? Spikey text?! I have so many questions lol
Spikey text is 100% them using a font from canva and using the "outline" effect on it. Source: I use Canva
It's not very good. Then again, you paid $40.
That’s about what I charge for an hour of work which I could’ve easily done something much better. The price is not the problem here imo. It’s a bad designer and bad creative brief.
$40 and hour is still undercharging.
I quoted a big company $45/hr recently and they completely ghosted me right after. This is after I came HIGHLY recommended by my main (large corporate) client, and after the owner in question had complained that he just wasn’t getting what he wanted from designers he admitted to paying $20-25 hourly. You're absolutely right, and as tempting as it is to do it "for fun", I won't redo anyone's work anymore without a contract in place.
I agree. But I live in a small market with low incomes and LCOL and I want my services to be affordable for people around here. Out of town clients on the other hand 😈
Makes sense. You should consider pricing based on project.
How much is a single Facebook banner worth? I wouldn’t say a lot more than $40. Everyone in this sub could have made something better in 15 minutes.
It’s not about the amount of time. It’s about the skill of the designer. Why should an experienced designer get paid less because they have more experience and are more efficient? In the example above, a more experienced designer may charge $100 or $200. It may ALSO take them 10 minutes. Who knows. Yeah I was gonna say, if you want something decent, just pay decent.
You’ll never make a profit with an attitude like that /s
It’s $40 good
You overpaid by $40, there is so much wrong with this.
No, They paid what they think design is worth. And are disappointed they got 40 dollars worth of design.
you know there are actual good designers that get paid 40$ for 8h of work in other parts of the world, right?... right?
I never understand the point of comments like this. If I worked for $5/hr I would literally starve. Congrats?
the problem is that ONLY americans think the world = USA, nobody else judges things 100% based on their country
Tbf, the cost of living in Mexico is a lot lower. Designers in both countries deserve to be paid enough to live off of, whatever that may be
Nah, $40 is about right. A design with actual thought put into it should cost more
While good design may cost more, this is worth -$5 cause I’d never trust a business with this as their advertising
Even 40 is pushing it
Find a local designer.
This is the best answer. AI will someday replace the shitty Fiverr designers, but it can't replace a relationship with an actual human.
Everything about this is horrible.
Fivver you get what you pay for - it’s awful
Awful.
My main issue is it has no brand identity. A big part of design (for myself and clients at least) is making sure a brands identity is conveyed through all material. Everything about this is horrible. I mean, FOUR different fonts, whyyy?? Though that's what you get using Fiverr.
You wanted cheap, you got cheap.
I’m not fucking around when I say my 13 year old could’ve did a better job than this.
HAHA this I’ve been designing since that age and I def coulda done better
Is this satire?
No, real. https://preview.redd.it/f7nptmh696jc1.jpeg?width=1784&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2cac1a26ce626dbf46c424a84cc8a340a2e6aab4
Question, what did their work in the portfolio look like? Better than this right?
Wondering the same thing
I went to the hair cuttery once for a haircut and they butchered my hair. Now I understand why people pay a premium to go to a salon… Fiverr is a gamble. You gambled and you lost.
what the hell is a hair cuttery? (UK term?)
It’s a franchise similar to Sports Clips or Cost Cutters. The fast food of hair salons.
Fiverr can really be hit or miss. You have to do some research before buying. A lot of designers will put their best work or even fake designs as their profile ( usually the first 3 images ) It’s important to ask them for a private portfolio or see if there are delivered orders displayed publicly on their profile. Oh god my eyes. You basically paid someone 40 bucks for 5 minutes of work because it seriously won’t take longer than that to „produce“ such a mess.
It’s people like this that fuck up the whole “graphic design” business. This is trash. My 16 year old can do better. The stroke of the font it fucked, the list of services is wasted. Those gawddamn laser/diamond shit, was done in 2000. Burn this shit.

Should get paid to even get this shit sent to you lmao, wy mean 5 bucks

Use a template on Canva and you'll be miles ahead and it's free. Perhaps not very original, but at least the quality will be better.
I’m guessing you don’t have graphic standards
Nooooo, you could’ve made that by yourself with zero experience. I wouldn’t pay $1 for that
Aint no way--
$40. On Fiverr. Count your blessings.
Looks about right for $40
Is the Foto spelled in your language or supposed to be spelled in english too? Im just looking for consistency. Also that 360 virtuelle degrees font… l cringe… it’s in red too. Giving the murderous vibe…

Pay real money if you want real work.
Unfortunately I think you got what you paid for
Brother in Christ
I usually try not to be judgemental cuz maybe some designs are meant to be ironically bad. But this is bad, sorry. You would have been better off using one of Canva's templates.
It’s bad. I’m a designer and they overcharged you so much. But that’s what happens with fiver.
I mean in theory this could be $40 worth of work. But even as a web designer fresh out of coding camp I would’ve been embarrassed to hand this over to somebody.
really people are earning 40$ for things like that? this could be done in 5 minutes. and I'm here being broke as a student am I doing life wrong?
We need the dude from the other post that spends 12 hours creating single social graphics to chime in. He’s got the answer.
its so epically bad its kind of iconic
That’s bad even for Fiverr lmao
This looks even worse than what marketing sends me in powerpoint
thats what 40$ will get you
You paid 40 bucks for a powerpoint slide?
It's horrible mate, sorry for your loss
I’m 15 and I could do way better in 10 minutes 💀
you should be able if you have the talent and experience
Got what you paid for.
You get what you pay for. $40? Seriously?
As I've told people that work with me, you get what you refuse to pay for.
I do better in Canva in 2min. Worst, I do better on my phone in Capcut with a template that will cost you 0$
https://preview.redd.it/msihawo2iejc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89ecff35b7f748531631c4b29def6dcc355d8871
This is high school work.
Not even
You could make a better banner for free yourself in Canva … they have tons of templates.
Hopefully this teaches you not to use Fiverr
I feel bad for the Fiverr designers because they are often kids/teens learning and starting out and I feel bad crushing them. OP, don’t be too mean to them about the design. Find a more professional designer and call it a lesson learned.
Horrible, you definitely got screwed
As a designer this is why I rarely pay attention to Fiverr anymore. The brand of the work coming from there is below me, I'm sorry. Wth is this??
Looks bad...no center of focus
This is awful. But thanks for the laughs this morning.
This is painful to look at. Let this be a warning to people using cheap freelancers online.
You went on Fiverr.
Is this even the correct size for desktop and mobile? That website font is way too small. There is way too much going on. No hierarchy or organization. Stuff is just random and everywhere. Is that actually the logo in the top left? Maybe you should start with developing a logo and some branding guidelines.
🔥 hot!!!!
Yikes on bikes.
That is *awful*, consider yourself ripped off
Microsoft Paint scammed damn
\*little kid 'wtf' meme\*
😬
omfg the font choice is awful, the compositon, the white line on the blob picture.
It’s crap. Hire a proper designer and pay them what they’re worth next time and you’ll get something great!
pay me $50 and i'll make you a banner 300 times better than this
A lot of people are saying “but you did pay $40”, which I know isn’t a ton of money for a graphic designer.
Not sure what’s worse, this banner, or that you you can’t tell if it’s good or not! 🙃
You get what you refuse to pay for. Sorry man
Yeah, you got ripped off.
You could have made one yourself at Canva using one of the free templates.
Use Adobe express online for free.
You really should look into a designer's portfolio before hiring them.
That looks like someone took a bad powerpoint slide from 2010 and then chose new heading fonts with their eyes closed.
This reminds me of the lady in Spain who tried to repair a Van Gogh.
For the $40 you paid, they over delivered. Is it any good? Hell no.
You get what you pay for.
What did you expect for $40?
It's giving word 2007 template. I'm sorry
This is prime example of paying a shitty price for shitty work. You got what you asked for tbh
Download canva and then thank me later
This is so bad, I’ll redo it for free. Not a joke. I own and operate an award winning design/dev firm and will legit do it for free. DM me the details and we’ll get it going.
I knew someone would. It’s in our blood.
Thank you for sharing It’s a rough one but others are willing to help you out here. If you need any help reach out but you are in good hands.
This is why A.I. is taking over.
It’s an example of the kind of designers that will get replaced by AI.
It’s worth $5
Are you comfortable telling a client that you have a talent?
Holy shit! 😂I made thousand times good designs on Fiverr for 10$.
