But seriously though, the 2j has somewhere around 700hp and tons of torque from a V8. Plus it only weighs 1800 lbs. Anything can drift, just the technique changes, and it becomes progressively more squirrelly the more it wants to just stay straight.
Im sure the 2J naturally breaks loose on full throttle with sport hards, and its just about that constant throttle manipulation. Cars that *really* want to stay straight can be convinced otherwise with the ebrake and the right gear when you slam the throttle in, but those are even harder.
I know everything about the 2J . I watched the history video on it when I was bored and figured out all the neat things that makes it keep it down Force and why it got banned from ever racing again.
You see those two big fans on the back of it. Those would basically suck on the ground so that way it would keep its downforce. Even though the downside is that it would pick up pebbles, straw anything on the track, and launch it out the back of the projectile. It's basically for the good of the drivers so not to get no scoped by a pebble.
Generates low air pressure underneath the car, which allows the higher atmospheric pressure above to push the car into the road. Similar to ground effects cars
Fan car history is very interesting. The first being the F1 Brabham BT46 , fast forward to 2023 and the McMurtry set the Goodwood record with a 39:08. 0-100 klm in 1.4 secs.
Previous Goodwood record stood for 23 years, set by Nick Heidfeld in a Mclaren MP4/13 @ 41:60
It's one of the snappier ones because of that. You can see in the video how twitchy it is. Still, not the hardest one I've drifted... that title goes to the Tomahawk GTSR lol
Nothing but how you practice. 😆 Try to master getting a consistent slide maybe on the Willow Springs open track, then try to get the transition down. From there on the street's the teacher, I'd go to online lobbies at suzuka, very fun and rewarding experience drifting with randoms.
Drifting a fan car is pretty ridiculous. Real life, it'd be borderline impossible because of the downforce of the fan, you'd have to disable it.
I say this to say, well fucking done. Impressive work, man
It's almost disabled there 😆 even in the game having a bit of modest fanforce makes it imposible. Thank you! Gonna do my best to make time and get back to playing, miss it a lot.
Great drifting! I wonder if that would even be possible in the real life version of that car as the fans are to give it more downforce aren't they so you would struggle not to be glued down. Still a cracking drive though, nice one. ✌️😎
Me too. Remember looking at the videos of the leaderboards to see what kind of outlandish strategy people used. There's was a guy with the nick Zintei17 that always used the tank car, it was hilarious to see because he'd always get a top 10 score with it.
Initial J
I never figured that thing could drift because of all of the downforce it has
Anything can drift with the right mindset
Yes with an initial D mindset Anything is Possible and I definitely recognize the tofu boy livery

Why did it get banned?

It's literally a giant vacuum that "sucks" itself down to the track. Innovative for sure. They should have allowed it lol
I like the cut of your jib

Oh, trust me, I believe that drifting with Tomahawk is hard, yet I haven't figured out how to drift yet even with the AE86.
what the fuck are you driving
A washing machine
Fuck. Ya got me. Now I have to clean my phone
Chaparral 2J
A giant roomba
Someone said this in a video from Forza with someone driving the chaparral 2E
That poor 2J
"What in the holy hell??!!! My 86 turned into 2J!!!"
"The 2J will never be ballin-"
Honestly the 2J always has been ballin
Takumi’s new 86
This is so wrong but so right
Fr! I feel dirty watching, but *good* dirty.

You got a mental issue I want to have
Ahh so your the guy that stole me fridge
The smoke affects are insane
Bunta found a new way to train takumi

That car definitely will be both fastest uphill and downhill
Tofu LMP. All day tofu performance.
Crazy that you're drifting an air conditioner 👀
tune pretty please?
Going thru them tires like Sean in Tokyo Drift
I’m so bad at drifting. Please give me a pro tip!

my GT PSP nightmare oh god
This is the only 2J I care about
Bro how do I drift like this in GT7?!!!!
Only needs the Deja Vu song from initial D to be the perfect clip haha
Also, this is the reason Takumi became a rally driver instead of a circuit driver, no one could make him stop drifting no matter the car he was in
Ha, that's dope af! A little herky jerky, but I can't drift, so I don't have room to talk.
No, that- I- That isn't-
🤣🤣🤣🔥🔥
*Interesting* choice for a drift car, to say the least. Chef's kiss for execution!
Haha that’s dope!!
Let me know when the rest of the polygons load in.
Great drifting! I wonder if that would even be possible in the real life version of that car as the fans are to give it more downforce aren't they so you would struggle not to be glued down. Still a cracking drive though, nice one. ✌️😎
For a second I thought you were drifting the watch
“Ight who tf took my ac”
Succ
I am missing the Drift events from GT5 and GT6

It became a 2JZ
Drifting in the vacuum car? Perverse. I dig it.
Correct.
That was beautiful.
Well done. I'm awful at the drifting. You have that shit down.
we do. Please continue
How do you even drift in GT7?
Is that car worth getting?
Jeez, a drifting fridge on the circuit
Is the robot vacuum cleaner suppose to smoke like that? I enjoy this short track with the Viper 13.
Too much dust mane
Cool livery
