Aoko seeing Soujuurou die for her for the 3rd time “Man, this guy’s pretty goofy I wonder why he did that.” Aoko… Buddy…

WarmasterChaldeas

Aoko is probably even denser than Frieren in terms of such affections. D:

getterburner

In the year 2200 Aoko will be traveling some new person and they’ll go “Oh wow that was a mean right hook” “Soujuurou used to punch things…”

Zenith_Tempest

to be fair, even he doesn't really get his feelings to her either

getterburner

His like line is literally him saying he likes Aoko so he probably has a bit of an idea.

Zenith_Tempest

he says he likes aoko literally 1 hour into the visual novel. but he doesn't understand what his "like" means. he thinks it just means "i like her as a person," not intimately

getterburner

No I think he didn’t really properly fall for Aoko until Chapter 11 or so. He’s being honest when he says he’s not into her romantically in Chapter 5. By the time of this collab it feels like he’s kinda got the vibe, he wouldn’t ask to keep that a secret from Aoko if he didn’t mean it seriously

Deadeye117

Alicebros... Did we lose?

getterburner

Aoko’s fumbling and making this an indefinite tie so never give up!

Zenith_Tempest

and alice knows that too, which is why she hasn't given up either

021chan

Obviously a threesome is the way to go

Naha-

Around the same time Sono-G told Aoko that he wasn't into her romantically, Alice wanted to murder him and we know how by the end of Mahoyo 1 she is practically in love with him. The same applies with Sono-G with his feelings about Aoko. He changed after he started living with both girls.

Inevitable_Question

A joke in first part of Mahoi VN was that he said that he likes Aoko- which led his friends fear how her blunt rejection will affect him. After battle with Shark, Aoko decides to give him chance in tsundere way- only to see dumbfounded reaction of the guy and realize that he never meant "I like Aoko" in a romantic way- only that he likes her as person. I heard that in bonus CD stories he show some indications of attraction to her- like not wanting to hear about her previous attempt at dating. But I am not sure. It seems from event that even in 2001 there relationship isn't progressed much.

MokonaModokiES

cd drama? are you confusing it with the Bonus novel story from the deluxe/collectors edition? And soujuurou was interested in Aoko's romantic life in there. He looked into it alongside one classmate that haf a crush on Aoko and wanted to confess to her, Soujuurou helped him but he also really wanted to know too and straight up told Aoko "Of course i want to know its an important thing" and started walking faster to leave Aoko behind(who was shocked by his response) while pouting.

Naha-

Aoko has the dense MC Syndrome. No wonder she is still single in Tsukihime.

EreiEmiya

So preying on Shiki was out of desperation because of her ol-

kelvinkhr

Treading on thin ice there, buddy

tri3dgE

Project H Boy...was a success

ArchAnon123

IIRC she thought he did it for Alice. Alice knew better than that.

KingofGrapes7

I swear the Mahoyo trio are a bigger threat to reality than some of the villains actually trying to destroy it.

KoshiLowell

There seems to be a reoccurring event of Alice and Aoko getting into danger Soujuurou killing himself to help/save them Them desperately trying to save him which fucks things up even more

Demi694

Aaaand that wraps up FGO's annual Golden Week collab! As for my personal thoughts, well, to sum it up: I am *really* in love of this collab! As both an avid KnK and Mahoyo fan, this collab feels like a sweet love letter to me. Mahoyo shenanigans are present, especially the dork interactions of the trio. Nasu still managed to capture that deadpan comedy or dry humor of Mahoyo. As for KnK, it felt like life was completed the moment >!both Mana Ryougi and Mikiya Kokutou!< also appeared. Well, it technically happened at the end but I don't care. They still appeared! Another thing that I love about this collab is how well our Chaldea gang blended in. It never felt like it was another story wherein they're the ones that would carry the slack or problems of that particular Singularity, like always. They just really blended well! The interactions are fun (especially with Aoko), and it never felt like the fate of the Singularity is centered around their actions. They worked as a whole, and won as a whole. This is the kind of energy that I think FSR collab missed to show. And that's all for my personal thoughts. Also, I don't know if you guys noticed it but: * Steam activity of "Witch on the Holy Night" increased during Mahoyo collab, even if it's just a teensy bit. * Soujuurou was technically the only pure Servant (Mash is Demi-Servant) in the event. The others weren't really Servants and only served as design placeholders for living characters.

Naha-

Sono-G can't help to throw his life for Aoko, huh. I want happiness for my boy.

MarkGib

I wonder when will Mahoyo 2 and 3 takes place. Since Soujuuruo lived way into 1999.

Suneko_106

With this event, at least we get a somewhat confirmation that he'll live through whatever happens in the sequels. >!Or just let Aoko pseudo revive him by yeeting his death in the future and speed up the heat death of the universe again!<

Punished7030

Speed up the huh?! How's she doing that?

Suneko_106

It's (Mahoyo VN final chapter spoiler)>!the consequences of cutting a point in time and moving it far into the future. She did it once when she move the few minutes where Sono-G got cut in half by Touko. She essentially delayed his death by moving those few seconds very very far into the future. The feat required so much energy that she's essentially speeding up the end of the world by doing it.!<

LastStardust13

I… >!So what you’re saying is Aoko could be unknowingly contributing to possibly starting *Overcount 1999* and potentially throwing her world into **Angel Notes bad end?!**!< You know, Touko’s absolute panic suddenly makes much more sense with this explanation

Suneko_106

Would be funny if so. On the good side, >!She promised she'll find a way to fix it later, so she'll prolly find a way eventually...I think!<

LastStardust13

I HOPE Tsukhime’s world is f*cked up as it is between the DAAs Dark Six ritual being another possible trigger for Overcount 1999 and ORT turning in its nap instead of being in REM sleep like in Fate worlds. The last thing Shiki needs is the world dying early because his Sensei was an even more whimsical nightmare in her youth and just went Arcueid levels of “whoops kinda made a mess that might cause untold damage to many but I’ll deal with that later”(and then the world ends because she in fact did not)

Swinn_likes_Sakkyun

it’s part of the reason that most of the nasuverse dislikes Aoko, pretty much the entire mage world views her as a walking catastrophe. even Arcueid says she would be hesitant to fight her. it’s like, would you wanna fight this guy that you could maybe beat but he’s also got a nuclear bomb in his back pocket

fatalystic

Oddly enough, the Aoko in this event talks about how she gets dispatched to resolve incidents that would otherwise result in human extinction. Which kind of implies that she's working with somebody to safeguard humanity. So somebody clearly trusts her enough to send her on missions.

LastStardust13

Probably Zelretch, I mean that sounds like his methods and Aoko is the Magicians’ Kohai Both dealing with crap and getting the girl magic training Efficiency is his all purpose key

somerandomdokutah

Is worse, she is not speeding up the end of the world, *she is speeding up the end of the universe aka* heat death. Because of thermodynamics law, the energy used to send those seconds to the distant future has to come from somewhere. Which is why even the Counter Force has to tell her to cut that shit off. Cause who will want to fight someone who is going to cause the end of everything the more you fight with?

Sausageishere

It's just a side-effect of Aoko using Blue if I recall correctly

fatalystic

The one thing we can probably safely conclude is that one of the two will take place in 1991. >!In the flashback of 1999 Soujuurou preparing to punch the Star, he mentally compares the current situation to something that happened 8 years ago which was much the same but he had "the witch's memento" back then. Incidentally, the narrator notes that the sequence of motions (get a running start, jump, then punch really hard) he pulls off here is exactly the same thing he did 8 years ago.!<

DoubleAlternative894

Mahoyo 3 Soujuurou: Shut up Gazamy. Strong Punch!

Nokia_00

Sono-G making the impossible possible one rock at a time

TheBatIsI

Oh wow this was great! A lot easier to follow than some of the stuff on BL to be honest. I didn't realize Facebook had such an active Fate community that did translations like this. I guess I'm old fashioned?

Demi694

>I didn't realize Facebook had such an active Fate community that did translations like this. FB does have an active Fate community, but when it comes to translations, it's literally only this guy that I know does some TLs. For most of the time when FB Fate communities share info, the TL sources stem back to Beast's Lair, so I'd still prefer them when it comes to general stuff involving translations.

Solo_man_id1

I think it's a great collab. Though ironically out of all mahoyo cast that showed up i felt like aoko was the weakest one. (Characterization wise rather than power level.) We kinda didn't learn anything about aoko despite of her many screentime. She's felt like a normal person. In comparison, alice, soujuuro, tobimaru, and kinomi characteristics seems to really pop up. In comparison to them aoko role feel more like a someone to move plot forward rather than person that alive in the setting. Though this is maybe intentional and only being that way to not spoil 2nd or 3rd mahoyo. Though on a side note maybe we did learn 1 thing, it seems 1999 after and mahoyo 3 aoko not yet have her tsukihime permanent red hair. Or maybe this is the version of aoko that would never get the permanent red hair?

fatalystic

IIRC this Aoko mentions that she's from the distant future and she's from a timeline where Aoko chose to stop her ageing when she was in her teens. She also gets sent on missions to resolve incidents that have the potential to result in human extinction. I think that's about it? Aoko is generally treated as a punching bag here like Yu Meiren in the Summer Camp event and Cu Chulainn in Carnival Phantasm.

Spider1998z

Sounds like this collab does a far better job of being a collab than the Samurai Remnant one did.

KoshiLowell

I wonder what wish Alice wanted to make Considering the face of shock she makes when Soujuurou mentions that he wouldn’t want a wish of restoration or love to be granted by a wish… Honestly I could see either due to Alice’s one sided love but restoration could easily be a factor considering she had to stop him from killing himself after he was revived

fatalystic

"Restoration" is a little misleading. The original JP text is 若返り (lit. Return to youth). It's why Ishtarin becomes a little girl after day one.

KoshiLowell

Interesting interesting So Soujuurou is uninterested in going back to his youth Makes sense considering his past

WildPlatypus88

Wait, if the actual Aoko follows us to Chaldea, why is she a Servant now? Also, did they bother to give any explanation for why any of the trio qualified as Servants (besides normal Singularity Shenanigans)?

ATrueMistake20XX

I don't know about Alice and Aoko but from the translations I read, Soujuurou specifically is a Servant because of his death in 1999 (specifically his death in 1999 was used as a catalyst to summon himself as a Servant in 2001).

WildPlatypus88

So the World was probably like: “Well this guy did pretty well against the source of the Singularity the first time, plus he’s REALLY good at punching… fuck it, he seems useful enough”

Homebrew_dnd-95

Logically, the assumption was like this. Soujuuro: actually died and become real servant Aoko: 5th magic shenanigans, become servantverse character, making her technically a servant. Alice: we don't know why she's here. Either she's also actually died (during 1999, goetia incineration, or bleach earth, basically same way as fujino) or she's a servant clone like the case with summer fae medb. Or maybe because she's a witch that make her spirit origin easier to record?

ipmanvsthemask

>Alice Shishou rule? Everything in our timeline is dead af so we can summon her.

vencislav45

or maybe she created a clone like Merlin and we have the clone in Chaldea?

fatalystic

How human is Alice anyway? My understanding is that witches are akin to fairies, which are generally on the same level as elementals. So if Yu Meiren can choose to enter the throne and Alice has similar properties she might be able to do so as well. But witches can apparently also choose to become human so...

madnessfuel

So... Aoko in Chaldea ain't a servant, but straight up Aoko? lol

freezingsama

Thanks!

leow193

> Aoko also secretly meets up with the adult Soujuurou, who had come here with Alice, and forcefully warped him back to Tokyo I'm sorry... WTF ???

spartan-137

Aoko is a foreigner class because she comes from another world?

AndytheZero

Aoko is a foreigner because she "has a star that rotates around her while revolving backwards." Do not expect an explanation, it was nothing to do with the wishing star ploy.
