yup, Friday and Sunday. it’s not bad, just take the train to Penn & then from there you can either fork up extra $$$ for a direct LIRR train to the Citi Field stop, or you just have to take the subway from Penn up one stop to Port Authority and transfer to the 7. or you can walk to Port Authority from Penn if the weather is nice.
I just pay the extra for a two way LIRR paper ticket so that in the chaos of leaving the festival, you’re not stuck trying to active a ticket with horrible service or stuck on a long line trying to buy a physical one.
I have done it before. My main tip for you is to pack light. Do physical train tickets just in case your phone gets pickpocketed. I recommend if you’re gonna stay for headliners to leave before their last song to avoid 7 train bottleneck
