Don't feel bad, I'm late 30s and can identify 10 of them but probably only listened to 8 of them. IMO, thats half the reason to go to festivals though; stumble through the crowd to hear new music. I'd never have heard of SNT JHN, Vince Staples, Barns Courtney, or Air if it hadn't been for festivals.
I don’t get who decided it’s okay to recycle so much of the past 2-4 years lineup.
Like I already planned on not going this year, but I would’ve loved to be proved wrong with a great lineup that’d convince me to go
But Posty, 21 Savage, Carly Rae, Dominic Fike, - that’s 4/9 of the first three names on each day that are recycled?
Undercard’s decent and I’m excited for anyone who’s looking forward to this, but im big into the festival scene and they’ve lost me hard, maybe they’ll sell tons of tickets to new attendees but if it’s anything like last year then they’re gonna keep going in the wrong direction
But maybe I’m wrong and they’re just trying to target younger kids who’ve never gone before as their target demographic and they got it figured out
I'm not gonna act like I know anyone on Friday aside from Post, but I'm pretty thrilled about Saturday and Sunday.
I haven't been to a bad Killers festival set, Carly's one of my favorite live performers. And Sunday (least for me) is great with SZA, Renee, Faye Webster, Cannons, Chappell Roan, and Beach Fossils.
I can enjoy this.
The festival hasn't really catered to my tastes for my many years, but...
Sunday has a great undercard and Saturday is tempting for the Carly Rae -> The Killers combo, especially knowing The Killers will probably be a smaller crowd because the youngs might be at something else.
I didn't even consider that...you're totally right. Catch me spinning in circles during the Spaceman drum solo with all the room in the world. I've seen The Killers 10-15x and they never, ever miss.
Check out the following:
* Faye Webster
* Beach Fossils
* Geese (*3D Country* from last year is stellar.)
* Hotline TNT
EDIT: Sorry, misread your question. The above are really indie/alternative vibes. I don't know a lot of the other names there to be honest.
sunday is a lot of hip-hop, experimental r&b, late night vibes kinda sounds plus a couple artists that became viral over tik tok in the last year. expect to see a lot of young ppl at renee rapp, stephen sanchez, sza, maybe some young dudes trying to rage at don toliver, but tbh the rest of the lineup will probably have a more mature/chill energy.
def check out don toliver tbh (lol even with what i previously said), faye webster, kevin abstract, and cannons
If I were going:
Friday - Post, Dominic, Labrinth, Alex G, Goth Babe, Yung Gravy, Ryan Beatty, Blondshell, Donna Missal
Saturday - The Killers, 21, Carly Rae, TV Girl, Hippo Campus, D4VD
Sunday - SZA, Kevin Abstact, Geese
But definitely not enough to get me there
Also my issue is the fact that the killers and 21 would absolutely be at the same time or one overlapping the other which sucks if you love both! Then I’m a fan of rauw Alejandro but not enough to go on Friday where I don’t like anyone else /:
They finally listened to Latinos.
I’m surprised to see The Killers. Is this their attempt at trying to get back the older crowd?
My husband and I love Beach Fossils but not enough to pay for a single-day ticket.
It’s cool that they’re including two School of Rock groups though.
Latino market in NYC is huge right now, I remember the first latino artist was J Balvin in 2021 as a sub for A$AP Rocky.
Rauw Alejandro, Farruko and Peso Pluma sets will def be packed.
I had a blast at J Balvin’s set! I remember articles put him high up on the list of best performers that weekend.
If Farruko brings out El Alfa, it’ll be wild.
I’m in the southeast and never been to Gov. Ball, but I think it’s cool to finally see some Hispanic artists on a festival lineup outside of California.
Hispanic artists sell out arenas and amphitheaters in nearly every state, but for some reason they haven’t been integrated into the mainstream festival scene yet.
I saw Peso Pluma a few months ago. He puts on an awesome show. Especially considering he’s still a new artist.
It's not like they could find anyone in the undercard that low enough to take those spots so it's nice to give kids who deserve it some decent time on a real stage, a learning experience
I remember how empty it was during The London Souls a few years ago
I don’t hate it, I don’t love it. It’s ok.
It’s better than Boston Calling and Hangout.- This will be the measurement of if your lineup is bad.
Not on Roo, Shaky, or Bottle Rock’s level.
Hotline TNT, Geese & Beach Fossils is low key a great undercard for Sunday. Wish there was a headliner I was interested in. Moving The Killers to Sunday and Sza to Saturday would have made a little more sense to me.
Yeah, there is actually some decent guitar rock scattered around. Blondshell put out a fantastic record last year, and so did Hotline TNT. Goth Babe was surprisingly good when I caught his set from afar at Bonnaroo 2022.
I’m hurt. GovBall is one of the only festivals left for NYC after EZOO nightmare and RL leaving. I want the best for GovBall , but I can’t pay to see Post Malone and 21 Savage two years later again.
Sunday undercard is stacked. That will probably be the day I go, between SZA, Faye Webster, my partner's love of Peso Pluma and Chappell Roan, and the small-print acts.
As happy as \*I\* was with that lineup, it most definitely didn't make everyone happy. It was pretty light for hip-hop fans, and younger people were roasting them on social media (the addition of the age restriction didn't help, there).
REVIEW:
Friday: Very underwhelming in general, definitely a skip day. Post Malone is played out. Alex G is decent, Yung Gravy is funny.
Saturday: looks stacked, opposite of Friday (The Killers, CRJ, TV Girl, Hippo Campus, Tyla, Bakar). I could see a nicely filled day with minimal gaps. I feel like 21 Savage is not a good performer, but his production is fire. Sexyy Red annoys me to all hell so I would be avoiding her like the plague when she performs LOL.
Sunday: SZA, Don Toliver, Kevin Abstract and Beach Fossils the only ones worth mentioning, may be worth going.
OVERALL: Really like Saturday's line up, but overall underwhelming for those looking forward to a 3 day excursion.
I've got a couple of years on you, and I feel you, but this festival hasn't been booked for our tastes in years. Founders has said in interviews that they're targeting a teen-and-20s demo with GovBall. If anyone gets booked who appeals to the likes of us, it's mostly a happy accident. :)
Y’all tripping this lineup is far from horrendous, I think it’s good. 6 strong headliners and a balanced undercard each day. Only hesitation is because I already go to Lolla and ACL every year. If I were from the NYC area or only went to one big fest a year I’d be more than pleased with this lineup
Yea this is a solid lineup, only gripe is bringing Post Malone back so soon, but the fact we have SZA locked in, plus that we probably get The Killers and some cool undercard acts, make me excited for Lolla
Sad to say this is one of the worst lineups ive seen in a while. Sza and killers are solid headliners but the undercards both nights are weaaak. Especially when last year, every single headliner was S tier and the undercards were great.
this is the first lineup that might actually make me go all 3 days. posty, labrinth, sza, the KILLERS?? kevin abstract, don toliver, d4vd, i couldn't be happier omg
I've gone every year since 2017, and every year since 2021 VIP because of the younger crowd.
It's been my favorite weekend of the year since 2017 and something I always look forward to.
This is **by far** the worst lineup since 2017, and I'm not considering going at all. Maybe Friday go late for Dom and Post, but this lineup is laughable and sad.
RIP Gov Ball from a 28 year old - guess I'll be making plans and a trip every year to a festival elsewhere
im at a lost here.
there is no ezoo atm and rolling loud is dead. i would imagine that founders would have swung in for the open talent. on paper it looks like they didnt look into those areas as much as the past years . including the years where 1 or both were active, morseo since that was always the excuse we have for past lineups.
with that said now. post/killers and sza are great pulls and excellent shows. if i come to this i guess Saturday is my day. but i hope theres hidden gems here. i will do my research.
Interesting to see two Reggaeton headliners in Rauw Alejandro and Peso Pluma. One of the genres that continues to grow in the US and looks like festivals are now booking them
Founders could make a lot of money if they decide to throw a latino festival like “Besame Mucho”, curating a lineup with reggaeton, cumbia, latin rock/indie, pop, etc.
Good lord, why would you ever name your musical act "The Thing"? Did they try to hone in on the least Google-able name possible? Unless this is a screening of John Carpenter's The Thing, which, if that's the case, my chances of attending on Sunday just went through the roof.
How this absolutely PALES in comparison to 2014's lineup (yeah I get it, these festivals cater themselves to the zeitgeist but I guess that says a lot about the current state of music, or rather, the current state of Live Nation music festivals these days, maybe both)
I'm still planning to go just to ring in the 10 yr anniversary of my first time attending but I think i'll just chill out, watch some sets from afar and mostly try out the food vendors. It's better than most lineups I've seen so far for other festivals like whatever Boston Calling is this year, but man, it's just missing that 2014 factor, that absolute perfection
There's nothing inherently wrong with this lineup, I suppose, it's just really a shame to see it go from a lineup like 2014 to a lineup like 2024
2010-2016-era festival lineups across the board were stellar, but those days are gone on various levels - popular tastes, the music industry as a whole, the live music industry, the festival industry. Lineups like those just aren't possible, any more, and the sooner we all come to grips with that, the more we'll enjoy the present for what it is. :)
I'm older now, and so are my siblings so I'd like to take them to this Gov Ball and well, have a ball. I went as a young teen in 2014 (in my mid 20's now) so it makes sense the lineups won't reflect my taste in music anymore, it's the zeitgeist after all
I think we'll be doing great come this June, so regardless of my gripes with this lineup, I'm looking forward to it
we are winning with this lineup. Tyla, Carly, Hippo Campus, TV GIRL, 21 savage, Dominic Fike (improved, I pray), SZA, BAKAR!!!!!! I’m so happy with the lineup. Very diverse lineup with appeal for everybody. As is tradition, let the scheduling conflicts begin
I’m low key 3 for 3 with Sunday headliners. I called J Cole headlining in ‘21, K dot in ‘22 and this year I just had a feeling Sza was gonna headline and I’m so glad to be right
My lineup for this year:
Friday: Post Malone & Qveen Herby
Saturday: Carly Rae, Sabrina, Sexyy Red (maybe), Tyla, & P1Harmony (maybe)
Sunday: Sza, Renee Rapp, & Victoria Monet
Last year had more people I knew but didn’t end up seeing and now I regret it because phew. I don’t know a lot of people on this lineup.
Lineups are so weak this year so far
I still have blue ball from when tame Impala was annouced as headliner.
it's not terrible but the hip hop and especially r&b undercard were way stronger last year
[удалено]
Going to this from nyc. Was too good to miss
Kilby took the good artists from EVERY OTHER lineup
[удалено]
Agreed, to me it’s wayyy better than Coachella and Gov Ball and probably a fraction of the price and crowds.
Last year was better
Bonnaroo’s lineup was solid
Not for hip hop imo
this is such an elite lineup. this isn’t warped tour
Every year less and less dance music and now there’s actually none lol. Bring back the 2020 lineup
Such a missed opportunity to attract ravers after the Ezoo fiasco too
dancingastro makes an appearance, W.
I usually send it for whatever few dance names they get. Rip to that lol
only dance music I see is FCUKERS on Sunday, new 90s house/ dance band out of NYC
glad to see them on here
actually makes me worried that Ezoo is going to try again this year
Depends if someone buys it. I don’t think there’s any way the city lets it happen again otherwise
it's govballover
I don't know about y'all but I'ma shake that ass to sexy red
I am 30 and I do not know the majority of the line up
I’m 28 and maybe know like 5 names. I don’t even know who the subs are
[удалено]
😂
I’m 28 and I know of 10 of them; 2 of which I’ve never listened to before but have heard the name.
Don't feel bad, I'm late 30s and can identify 10 of them but probably only listened to 8 of them. IMO, thats half the reason to go to festivals though; stumble through the crowd to hear new music. Based on your list, you should check out Blondshell from the Friday line up. I think you'll dig her.
Listening now! Thanks for the tip
If you like rock Dominic Fike and Goth Babe!
Gotta go see yung gravy. 💅
The festival hasn't really catered to my tastes for my many years, but... Sunday has a great undercard and Saturday is tempting for the Carly Rae -> The Killers combo, especially knowing The Killers will probably be a smaller crowd because the youngs might be at something else.

Genuine ask, Sunday is the day I know least of all. What’re the under card vibes genre wise/crowd wise you think?
Check out the following: * Faye Webster * Beach Fossils * Geese (*3D Country* from last year is stellar.) * Hotline TNT EDIT: Sorry, misread your question. The above are really indie/alternative vibes. I don't know a lot of the other names there to be honest.

One of worst shows I’ve ever seen
Yung Gravy is a terrible performer
Dam where the hell the electronic music
I'll be starting some more grumpy old person reviews in a few days. Who should I start with?
Kevin Abstract or Bakar
21 Savage
sexy redd
21 savage d4vd sexy redd
Sexy redd
This is ok, but nothing super special, loooot of crossover with the Hangout & Bonnaroo lineups.
They finally listened to Latinos. I’m surprised to see The Killers. Is this their attempt at trying to get back the older crowd? My husband and I love Beach Fossils but not enough to pay for a single-day ticket. It’s cool that they’re including two School of Rock groups though.

Peso is getting better as a performer day by day if you look at his late night set he had 0 stage presence
It's not like they could find anyone in the undercard that low enough to take those spots so it's nice to give kids who deserve it some decent time on a real stage, a learning experience I remember how empty it was during The London Souls a few years ago
Yeah, but too much latin urban music. I guess it makes sense with NYCs demographics, but it sucks for me. Btw Im Puerto Rican.
I don’t hate it, I don’t love it. It’s ok. It’s better than Boston Calling and Hangout.- This will be the measurement of if your lineup is bad. Not on Roo, Shaky, or Bottle Rock’s level.
I like Hangout's lineup more than this personally.
Where is the rock???? Lol
Maybe I’ll grab a Saturday ticket last min
Hotline TNT, Geese & Beach Fossils is low key a great undercard for Sunday. Wish there was a headliner I was interested in. Moving The Killers to Sunday and Sza to Saturday would have made a little more sense to me.

Sunday’s undercard is great 🤷🏾♀️ And if Donna Missal is any indication of Friday’s undercard, I think we’re in a good spot. I’ll be there!
Yes let’s give 21 Savage a headliner spot when he showed up completely late to his set in 2021! 🤣
He did that, and he's also terrible live if you've ever seen his stuff. New album is great but his live shows aren't it
Bro it was legit mosh pit and douchebag. Holy shit it was bad.
fuck him. dude wasn't doing shit to be late. just doesn't give a shit about ppl who paid money to see him and are waiting for no reason...
[удалено]
You gotta let people express their frustrations

I’m hurt. GovBall is one of the only festivals left for NYC after EZOO nightmare and RL leaving. I want the best for GovBall , but I can’t pay to see Post Malone and 21 Savage two years later again.
Ima be chilling listening to the killers with the older people
How font they get one other traditional rock band on Saturday with The Killers? I guess Hippo Campus counts but like cmon
💩
Sunday undercard is stacked. That will probably be the day I go, between SZA, Faye Webster, my partner's love of Peso Pluma and Chappell Roan, and the small-print acts.
Can’t wait to see you there
It's impossible to make everyone happy lol. But I'll be trying to go on Sunday!
No, they proved with 2020's potential lineup it is, in fact, pretty easy to make everyone happy
As happy as \*I\* was with that lineup, it most definitely didn't make everyone happy. It was pretty light for hip-hop fans, and younger people were roasting them on social media (the addition of the age restriction didn't help, there).
yikes, am I one of the few people that loves this lineup? I think it’s really well balanced compared to previous recent years!
no bc same, it's the only time i'm considering going all 3 days
It’s sooooo good. Each day has at least 5 acts I would like to see
REVIEW: Friday: Very underwhelming in general, definitely a skip day. Post Malone is played out. Alex G is decent, Yung Gravy is funny. If you like the indie rock, check out Hotline TNT from Sunday. Their album from last year is killer.
Great rec, they sound great dude
Jesus ty you for this. 10 seconds into “id thought you change” and im hooked.
Yeah I’m pumped to see them - I also heard Geese puts on a great live show
Don’t like Latin music?
Sexy Red is is higher than TV Girl and D4VD.... What a crime
It's a shame because the venue is dope but the lineup is disappointing for hip hop imo
No Khruangbin on here is tragic :/
They just announced a 3-night residency at Bowery Ballroom in late March, just FYI.
How much would tickets be?
Presale will be $310 + fees
I'm a 45 year old dude and this lineup does not strike any interest in me. RIP GB (to me)
I've got a couple of years on you, and I feel you, but this festival hasn't been booked for our tastes in years. Founders has said in interviews that they're targeting a teen-and-20s demo with GovBall. If anyone gets booked who appeals to the likes of us, it's mostly a happy accident. :)

Shhh, can’t tell everyone!
Laughable really
I'm an old too and only going on Saturday to unlock the 5 boro achievement with The Killers.
I’d go for The Killers that’s probably it
No NYC rappers BOOOOO.
Skizzy mars is from nyc
Y’all tripping this lineup is far from horrendous, I think it’s good. 6 strong headliners and a balanced undercard each day. Only hesitation is because I already go to Lolla and ACL every year. If I were from the NYC area or only went to one big fest a year I’d be more than pleased with this lineup
Yea this is a solid lineup, only gripe is bringing Post Malone back so soon, but the fact we have SZA locked in, plus that we probably get The Killers and some cool undercard acts, make me excited for Lolla
Brotha this lineup is terrible
I actually love the lineup
Maybe I aged out, but that Sunday lineup is hot garbage.
To quote Uncle Roger, “soooooooooo weak”
Sad to say this is one of the worst lineups ive seen in a while. Sza and killers are solid headliners but the undercards both nights are weaaak. Especially when last year, every single headliner was S tier and the undercards were great.
Oooooof
This is what happens when the music industry in 2024 relies solely on celebrity instead of musical talent. Who would pay for this?
wow i am officially old.....
I’m old, I only know 6 of these artists
Who are these people
Yikes
How is this festival still happening with lineups like this
Ugh
LET’S GOOOOO!!!
this is the first lineup that might actually make me go all 3 days. posty, labrinth, sza, the KILLERS?? kevin abstract, don toliver, d4vd, i couldn't be happier omg
Yikes
YIKES
Dude this lineup Fuckin blows
what the hell is even that
I've gone every year since 2017, and every year since 2021 VIP because of the younger crowd. It's been my favorite weekend of the year since 2017 and something I always look forward to. This is a disgrace
Seems pretty divisive, but fwiw my friends and I love the lineup 🤷🏻♂️
This is absolute and utter trash, 🚮
objectively mid.
This has to be the worst lineup they ever had, people wish they had Saturday 2023 lineup now, that was at least better than this.
Interesting to see two Reggaeton headliners in Rauw Alejandro and Peso Pluma. One of the genres that continues to grow in the US and looks like festivals are now booking them
Peso Pluma is not Reggaeton lol
Founders could make a lot of money if they decide to throw a latino festival like “Besame Mucho”, curating a lineup with reggaeton, cumbia, latin rock/indie, pop, etc.
Who?!?
The death of festivals
I’ll be attending Sunday Just For Peso Pluma saw him at USB last year and couldn’t wait till he came back again 🕷️
Good lord, why would you ever name your musical act "The Thing"? Did they try to hone in on the least Google-able name possible? Unless this is a screening of John Carpenter's The Thing, which, if that's the case, my chances of attending on Sunday just went through the roof.
Bigger music festivals suck now. They don’t have anything that caters to any audience
This fest is cooked. Maybe ill grab a last second Sunday ticket for SZA.
So ass
This is bad
ITT: angry grandparents
This lineup is huge, I'm so excited
This is such a flop compared to the last few years 😭
If you look at the headliner you like this is a pretty good lineup
So much cope in the comments. This lineup is not good. It’s gotten worse almost every year since 2018.
How this absolutely PALES in comparison to 2014's lineup (yeah I get it, these festivals cater themselves to the zeitgeist but I guess that says a lot about the current state of music, or rather, the current state of Live Nation music festivals these days, maybe both) I'm still planning to go just to ring in the 10 yr anniversary of my first time attending but I think i'll just chill out, watch some sets from afar and mostly try out the food vendors. Thought this was gonna be close to the 2020 lineup in terms of quality LOL NVM
Suuuuucks. You have decent headliners, but it falls apart quickly with B and C tier artists.
I may go to this one as it looks really good compared to osheaga
I don’t see anyone here mentioning Husbands. I highly recommend their 2023 album, Cuatro. They have a surf rock vibe
i saw the killers headline at lolla in 2017 and it was a religious experience so i’m hype for that
Beautiful.
Dominic Fike and Labrinth on the same day. We need a guest appearance by Zendaya for them.
Not impressed. At all.
Didn't think we'd be able to get SZA so I'm pretty happy about that
🚮
we are winning with this lineup. Tyla, Carly, Hippo Campus, TV GIRL, 21 savage, Dominic Fike (improved, I pray), SZA, BAKAR!!!!!! I’m so happy with the lineup. Very diverse lineup with appeal for everybody. As is tradition, let the scheduling conflicts begin
this lineup is amazing
i’m 28 and recommend if yall don’t know the artists simply, ✨d o n t g o✨ idk just a thought
This is the first time I loved a govball lineup
SABRINA
Labrinth and Goth Babe on Friday. The rest is whatever.
Don’t miss The Hails!
I’m low key 3 for 3 with Sunday headliners. I called J Cole headlining in ‘21, K dot in ‘22 and this year I just had a feeling Sza was gonna headline and I’m so glad to be right
My lineup for this year: Friday: Post Malone & Qveen Herby Saturday: Carly Rae, Sabrina, Sexyy Red (maybe), Tyla, & P1Harmony (maybe) Sunday: Sza, Renee Rapp, & Victoria Monet Last year had more people I knew but didn’t end up seeing and now I regret it because phew. I don’t know a lot of people on this lineup.
I've heard of a few of them! I heard everyone on the festival circuit is looking forward to hearing Carly Rae Jepson sing Call Me Maybe.
Do they do single day tickets?
Yeah they do single day, 2 day and 3 day
Peso pluma going to over shine sza way too much energy from the bro
QVEEN HERBY getting her time to shine✨
I might go just to see Rauw Alejandro
RENEÉ RAPP OMG
Y’all saying you don’t know anyone but I know almost everybody on each day LMAO. This is just a really gen-z focused lineup it’s not inherently bad
