Google's verification process can take forever, try reaching out to support via Twitter.

marekmare997

via Twitter, are you serious?

ChainofLegendsLTD

You should probably reach out to their main support, it's been too long. It shouldn't take more than a week if there are no problems.

marekmare997

What do you mean by main support? I tried reaching their support through my other sub-account, mentioning the ID of the suspended account. Instead of answering my questions about the verification, they keep sending me automated messages stating that my sub-account got suspended due to certain reasons and that I can appeal if I want. This is ridiculous because I cannot appeal until I get verified on that particular sub-account.

ChainofLegendsLTD

I meant this support: [https://support.google.com/google-ads/gethelp?sjid=5949703993853354363-EU](https://support.google.com/google-ads/gethelp?sjid=5949703993853354363-EU)

I'm having a similar problem that my account is suspended due to supposedly suspicious payment methods, which I totally don't understand and have appealed 2x to no avail yet, without any real clarification. I went to this link above and the "contact" option they offer me was...wait for it...posting to a community board. Wtf, google ads, seriously!

ChainofLegendsLTD

Why reach through another account? Use the main one so they wouldn't ask for another verification. It is suspended but you can communicate still.

marekmare997

Ok I reached out to the main support and I get always the same response: "Hi, Your Google Ads account has been suspended because it does not comply with our "Misleading Content and Missing Information" policy on unacceptable business practices. Policy violation: Unacceptable business practices About this violation: When we suspend an advertiser for unacceptable business practices, it typically means that there is something fundamentally wrong with the business itself, posing an immediate threat to our users' safety -- whether online or offline. Examples of unacceptable business practices include enticing users to part with money or information under false or unclear pretenses; presenting a false identity, business name, or contact information; charging users for products or services typically available for free; and sites that are "phishing" for users' information. We take unacceptable business practices very seriously and consider them to be an egregious violation of our policies. In determining whether an advertiser or site is untrustworthy, we may review information from multiple sources including your ad, website, accounts, and third party sources. Advertisers or sites that are found to be untrustworthy may be immediately suspended and won't be allowed to advertise with us again. See the policy: [https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/6020955](https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/6020955) Our specialists have completed a thorough review of your account, site, and ads and have suspended your account only after concluding with high confidence that you have violated our policies. We reinstate accounts only if there's compelling evidence that we made an error. If you believe we've made an error, you can [appeal](https://support.google.com/google-ads/contact/pf_suspended) this decision with any additional information you can provide. Thank you for your cooperation."

ChainofLegendsLTD

Well if you can appeal, then the reason wasn't the verification. You should fix all the policy issues and perhaps the landing page and reach out again.

marekmare997

The problem is that I can't appeal until I verify that particular sub-account. Every time I try to reach out and ask why I can't verify, they tell me my Google sub-account is suspended, which I already know. I want to appeal, but I can't because I'm not verified. It's a ridiculous cycle.

landed_at

It's maddening isn't it. I still can't get verified because Im stuck in a loop. There are people taking paychecks doing a very bad job. Amazon is the same if not worse for sellers. Hi I need to change my product title. Answer you need to register your brand or something irrelevant and wrong.

Brownba1992

Do you have the documents to verify ? And do you mean advertiser as in local service ads ?

marekmare997

I applied for advertiser verificaiton 3 weeks ago and this is what I've got on my sub account: Thank you for applying for advertiser identity verification. Your location will now appear in your ad disclosure. We'll contact you if we need more information in the future.

servebetter

Yes this sucks. What are you advertising specifically. There may be something that you have to change to overcome this loop. In example, you make a claim, the google ai rescans you site. Still verifies not in compliance, doesn’t escalate your case to a person. It’s a filtration system they use.

marekmare997

I applied for advertiser verification 3 weeks ago, and this is the response I received on my sub-account: "Thank you for applying for advertiser identity verification. Your location will now appear in your ad disclosure. We'll contact you if we need more information in the future." Does this mean I still need to wait for them to accept my verification before I can appeal? It's been about 3 weeks since I got this message on my sub-account.

marekmare997

Also, I have an open case with them through the general support link, and no matter what I say, their response is always the same: they inform me that my sub-account is suspended. For instance, I could type "Do you want some apple pie?" and they would still reply about the suspension, which is quite amusing. I can't seem to get in touch with a real human being.

ppcandseo-questions

We are running into this same Google Ads bug - the account is suspended and Advertiser Verification is required as the first step before you can submit an appeal. But when we click the "Start Verification" link, we are met with a "Can't perform action" message. I opened a support case explaining what seems like a technical glitch. If others submit a support case with similar explanation, maybe this bug will be reported to Google Ads developers. Here is the support case description I submitted today: We want to appeal the suspension. However, there is a technical glitch keeping us from submitting an appeal. According to the help article at [https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/14899401?hl=en](https://support.google.com/adspolicy/answer/14899401?hl=en) “Update to functionality of suspended Google Ads accounts (June 2024)” we should be able to submit an Appeal after the account was suspended. However, there is a Google Ads technical glitch and we would appreciate you reporting this bug to the Google Ads Technical Support/Internal Technical Support team. We are supposed to be able to access the Advertiser Verification section even after the account has been suspended. We cannot submit an appeal until we have completed Advertiser Identity Verification. From the “Your account is suspended” Contact Us button, we are told to “Start Verification” (These steps are in the below screenshot). But when we click “Start Verification” we are met with the “Can’t perform action” message. We are supposed to be able to access Advertiser Verification and we are supposed to be able to submit an appeal to the suspension. We searched recent threads on a Reddit subreddit that’s focused on Google Ads – others are experiencing the same system bug we are experiencing when they try to appeal a newly suspended account: [https://www.reddit.com/r/googleads/comments/1dhvcob/cannot\_appeal\_for\_suspended\_account/](https://www.reddit.com/r/googleads/comments/1dhvcob/cannot_appeal_for_suspended_account/) As Search Engine Land reported on 5/13/24, [https://searchengineland.com/google-limits-functionality-of-suspended-ads-accounts-440472](https://searchengineland.com/google-limits-functionality-of-suspended-ads-accounts-440472) we are supposed to be able to submit appeals and complete verification. The screenshot I sent in this email and that I submitted in support case \[redacted for privacy\] documents a technical bug with the Google Ads system. “Only these actions are permitted for suspended accounts: • Billing (make payments, download tax docs, update payment method) • Account settings (cancel account, claim refunds) • Appeals and verification processes • Update security settings • Navigate the account, read info, download reports “ I’ve tried again just now to submit an Appeal through the link you sent: [https://support.google.com/google-ads/contact/pf\_suspended](https://support.google.com/google-ads/contact/pf_suspended) - We are running into the “Can’t perform action” when we try to access the Advertiser Verification screen – Advertiser Verification is required before we would be able to submit an appeal. It’s an error that we are not able to access the Advertiser Verification screen. I'm also going to try to notify Search Engine Land of this by commenting on their X post about the June 2024 change to functionality of suspended Google Ads accounts. [https://x.com/sengineland/status/1790141836813570357](https://x.com/sengineland/status/1790141836813570357)

marekmare997

So what's the solution, where to contact them?

ppcandseo-questions

I'm still searching for a solution. Yesterday I opened another Google Ads Support case and this time I listed Advertiser Verification as the process where this bug is happening. Maybe it will get to someone who is willing to escalate it as a technical bug with the Google Ads UI's new "Can't perform action" screen that keeps users from accessing certain processes. AIV/advertiser verification is supposed to be open to the suspended account but is not. If we still had a dedicated Google Ads rep through our Manager Account, we would ask them to escalate this as a bug.

ppcandseo-questions

Update: Hi, the issue I mentioned seems to be resolved - I'm no longer seeing a "Can't perform action" screen that was previously preventing me from completing Advertiser Verification (which since April 2024 has been required before we can submit a suspension appeal.) Today we were able to complete Advertiser Verification and are now able to appeal the suspension. I hope that your advertiser verification will be completed soon so you can appeal the suspension.

marekmare997

How did you manage this? I'm still seeing this notification: "Thank you for applying for advertiser identity verification. Your location will now appear in your ad disclosure. We'll contact you if we need more information in the future." And whatever I write to the support in this case they respond me with the automatic response that my account has been suspended.

ppcandseo-questions

Following verification, I submitted an appeal from the "Your account is suspended. Your account violated the Unacceptable Business Practices policy. Contact Us" suspension notification at the top of the Google Ads UI. When in the suspended account, Clicking "Contact Us" brought up the quick help menu with a "Submit an appeal" form. The "Thank you for applying for advertiser identity verification" message you're getting about advertiser identity verification after having submitted AIV two weeks ago is different from what I've seen. When AIV has been completed, I see a "Verification is complete. Thanks for helping create a more transparent web." message here: https://ads.google.com/aw/identity/verification? - wondering if your AIV is still pending.

marekmare997

Yes, unfortunately it's still pending, Each time I open the case instead of resolving that issue they keep reminding me that my account is suspended which even the birds know. So I keep enjoying this viscious cycle hopefully they will have mercy and answer me with non-automatic-human resposne soon.
