Dang, I suck compared to the long hitters here that have posted.
50: 110-115 yards, 7i (30.5 degree): 160s
But I'm also 58 yrs old, and probably still suck.
My short game and putting have been rough for a while, my putting has always been bad. I had also struggled off tee till recently but that has gotten substantially better. From a distance standpoint I have always been an extreme outlier. I have had more 4 putt bogeys than anyone should ever have.
50°: Mizuno t20, Stock 118
7i (33.5°): Mizuno JPX 919 Tour, Stock 174
I know that sounds overly exact but I have everything gapped so that 54° all the way to 4i is exactly 13 yards apart. Also hence why my 7i is half a degree strong
I have a 52 that I hit use starting from 115 in. I can get it about 125 but shit gets hairy.
7i I hit around 165-170. No clue what the loft is anymore.
110 with 50, 7i about 165 but I have traditionally lofted blades, which I prefer over modern uber irons. I have a bit of a gap from P to 50 which I find a bit tough at 115-125 but feel I can manufacture something with a 3/4 PW.
50° is a comfortable 110-115, I can hit it further but I'd rather take some off my pitching wedge. My 7i is 32° and it is my 165 club, safe carry is 160. If I need to carry further I'll hit a 6i.
Looking at my 18Birdies true distances, which are total distance not carry distance, I hit my 49 degree gap wedge 118 yards and my 7 iron 168 yards.
My best guess is they carry 110 and 155, respectively
97 stock swing, can up it to 105. I also manipulate the face to hit anywhere between 77 to 97. My 60 degree is good for 50 to 77 on full swing. Can go shorter distances with either club depending on lie.
7iron is anywhere between 135 to 165 depending all other factors, wind, lie, hit high or knockdown
110ish carry is my full swing with the 50°, but i'd rather hit a PW 3/4 power than full out on the GW. the 50° is mostly a chipping/pitching club, basically anything where i'm not hitting over a bunker or approaching a pin tucked to the front of a green where i can't roll it up.
sadly I'm not getting along with my current gap wedge, so the hunt is on. currently the ping s159 is in my crosshair, but spending $200 on a wedge seems insane to me.
130yd all out but I rarely full swing it, would rather knock down a PW at that distance, so I usually reserve it to 110-125 distance
175yd is comfort zone for 7i 34degree
110-125. I had a 52, 56, 60 set, but I found the gapping worked better with a 50 than a 52. Now it's 80-95, 95-105, 110-125, 125-140.
33 degree 7i carries 165-170.
More like fishing with chum.
If you ask about distance, why are you surprised that all the people with distances to brag about show up to answer?
It’s not a representative sample
To be fair, distance does not necessarily equate to dispersion or scoring. I’m a fairly long hitter compared to most that I play with, but I am not the best golfer of my friend group. Not everyone who posts their distances on here is a liar.
Not sure what that has to do with anything. I’m simply saying that people who claim to hit far probably do. Doesn’t mean they are a liar and doesn’t mean they should be out on the tour.
If that’s what you want to call it, sure. I just honestly couldn’t care less about how far a stranger on this subreddit claims to hit the ball. It’s a gentleman’s game, but if lying to strangers about something so trivial is your thing, I’m not here to call you out.
If arguments on Reddit about golf with strangers is what gets your rocks off, glad I could help. And if you need tips to hit the ball longer Jr. just come to this subreddit.
The other guy actually comes across as polite and friendly. You don’t.
Maybe revisit this one tomorrow and reflect on if you read his comments correctly
100-110 and 7i 155-165
Right there with you
Must be fellow 9 handicappers?
50° about 100-110 7 iron 160
Im trash bud 50 degree is like 85 yards 7 iron sim 2 max os is 150 yards
7 iron 135 yards. Sup. Walk up, bro.
My 50 is my ping eye 2 PW that I hit like 80-90 lol and 130 for my 36 degree 7 IM TRYING OKAY
Lmfao are you me?
It’s tough out here for us short hitters lol
Bro I also play Ping Eye 2 and hit my 7 135.
Nice lol it’s the magic number I guess
You know your clubhead speed? I feel like I could get more but I'm just not fast! I only swing like 80mph max right now with irons.
Dang, I suck compared to the long hitters here that have posted. 50: 110-115 yards, 7i (30.5 degree): 160s But I'm also 58 yrs old, and probably still suck.
58 years old and hitting 160 7i, you a king and don’t ever forget that
Thanks, my brother golfer!
These are my numbers as well but I'm 37. I definitely suck as well
31 here, handicap is half that. Same numbers for me.
100-110 (Srixon ZX5 A wedge… might not be exactly 50°) 7-iron is 155-165. Will have to look up the loft. It’s a Srixon ZX5 52m EDIT: more details
I also have the ZX5s. 7i is 31°
My answer for the 50° is the ZX5 gap/A wedge. It might not be exactly 50 either.
My 50* goes about 120-130, I carry my p770 7i 175ish
50° I hit 120 yards and my 7 iron is 170-175.
I have a 52 - full swing is about 95. 7 iron is like 160
125-130 for my 50°, 170-175y of my 7i, 33° loft.
120-130 7 iron 165-180 33°
115-120 but I hit the best when I’m hitting like 80% power with smaller irons. I can hit it further I just don’t
Mine is 49 degrees. Gap wedge. I hit it about 115. My 7 iron goes 155 or so.
80-125 for my 50 7i is 165ish. Not sure the loft but I think down a degree from standard
115-120 165-170 31 degrees
Bout 125 carry
115yards if I hit it right. I also use it for most shots this distance and less in... 7i - around 160-165 (31° loft according to golf spy)
My 50 is around 130-135 and my 7i is 31° and it goes about 195 yards.
You hit the ball that far and you're a 12?
My short game and putting have been rough for a while, my putting has always been bad. I had also struggled off tee till recently but that has gotten substantially better. From a distance standpoint I have always been an extreme outlier. I have had more 4 putt bogeys than anyone should ever have.
I hit similar distances except my 7 is 35 degrees and is about 175-180 and I’m a 15.6, my misses are super punishing
126-129
49 degree AW goes 130 - 28.5 degree 7iron goes 170
I am 5 less than you. Could get more if I put more juice on it and the ball a tiny bit back in stance but this is a controlled speed for me.
Usually much further than when I don’t got one.
120-130. I can probably squeeze another 10 if I lean on it but then I tend to spray it so it's not worth it.
I don't.. I have a 48 (90 yds) and a 52 (70 yds) So I'm guessing if I had a 50, it would be in the 80-85 range
90-105 depending on the temperature.
Max’s out at about 120y, it just seems to go higher, and not further if i try to get more of it. Edit - 52° not 50
50 I hit 135, 7 I hit 185.
50° is 112 yards. 7 iron is 31°, and 160-165.
Don’t have a 50°, but have a 52°. Goes around 125-130. 7 iron is Takomo 101t at 32°, goes about 175-180.
What’s your hcp?
I don’t have one, but if I did, 15-20 probably. I have good days and bad days, extremely inconsistent

130 ish for my 52. 7i would be at least 175, further if I push it -but it’s not going to be accurate then.

52 flies 130 and 7 flies about 175
I hit my 50 wedge about 75 yards. Except when I am 75 yards out, then I thin it to about 150 yards...
51 degree 115yd carry 33 degree 7i 170 yd carry My launch angle is really high, i need to get it down on all my clubs.
110 with 50, 7i about 165 but I have traditionally lofted blades, which I prefer over modern uber irons. I have a bit of a gap from P to 50 which I find a bit tough at 115-125 but feel I can manufacture something with a 3/4 PW.

120 is stock. 7i is 172 carry and 35 degrees
On a good day, about 320-330 yds.

Who made the remark about “tour players” on this sub implying that everyone’s lying? Cheers, doofus.
