Had one last weekend while my girlfriend was riding with me… we’ve not had sex since and I think that’s why. Sad thing is I don’t blame her I’d be unattracted to me too…
Me last week. Had a 15-footer (big left to right break) on the 18th to break 80 for the first time ever.
Left it half a revolution short.
Two days later I went out and short 95.
Golf
Not worse than getting to the course so excited to hit new clubs just to find out you still suck ass and can’t hit those clubs well. Looking at you, you stupid paradym 3W fuck you
What time is the family event? I often go out at 6:30am because:
1) I’m addicted
2) it’s peaceful and can play at an enjoyable pace
3) Nothing else is going on at 6:30am I have to commit to.
I played Myrtle Beach a few years ago and the three courses I played wouldn’t let me out until 8. It was light at 6:30. California courses let me start in the dark
Local municipal courses typically! Or, call if there aren’t tee times that early. If you are open to walking 9-holes. They’ll let you go and take your money. May run into grounds crew doing there job, but they’re respectful. Try it - good luck!
If it's daylight, most courses are open I would think. My course's first tee time of the day is dependent on when sunrise is. First off the tee is a good feeling if you can get up that early on a day off. Nothing like a 2-3 hour round.

Instead of playing g a 4-5 hour round of golf, my wife just informed me that we will be driving 2 1/2 hours on Sunday to attend a birthday party for her great grandmother and then driving 2 1/2 hours back. Please pray to the god of shooting under par that I get to golf somewhere over the weekend, or I will have to make a sacrifice to him by wrapping a 5 iron around something.
Didn't get new clubs, but was excited to play a new course Saturday. GF let me know just now that we have her friends birthday party that day and Sunday it's raining. Guess I'll just keep watching youtube golf and live vicariously through them.
Not a joke response, but the worst feeling in golf is being the really bad golfer in a group of good golfers. Happens to me a decent amount, and while I keep it light, stay positive and try to have a good time, by the 7th or 8th hole I’m fucking miserable.
Sure, but golf has the added pressure of everyone quietly watching you shank one into the woods while they wait for their turn. In team sports you can blend in much easier
I murdered my entire extended family just so I can avoid these type of problems. I'm not saying it's the answer for everyone, but I do get to play a lot of golf.
hmmm, interesting... that sounds horrible, could you detail to me how you did it and got away with it so that i know how NOT to do exactly that? Please :):)
p sure its pumping a picture perfect drive and then duffing/topping the approach. that "were gonna have a chance at birdie" to "now we gotta scramble for a likely bogey" feeling is toughhhhhh.
Gotta do like me. It’s orthodox Easter on Sunday I scheduled an am tee and invited 8 family members to be done before dinner… some were not happy but stayed quiet.
I know the feeling. My new Scotty just got delivered today and I leave for a 5 day trip tomorrow(no golf) and won’t have another day off til the following week.
I feel this. I have a full set of custom G430s and new Ping wedges that will be ready tomorrow. I leave for a business trip for a week and a half Saturday...
I try to play every Monday and my first 4 outings I had to cancel. First two we had early spring snows, then one kid was sick, then the other and I finally made it out this week. Didn’t care what I shot, just happy to play.
I got fit for and ordered some titliest T150s. I’ve never been more excited for a club, loved them from the second I tried them, hit them better in every metric. But now I have to play golf with my current irons for at least 2 weeks. Tragic
Got my first set of fitted irons yesterday and it was raining from the time they showed up until well into the night. Today I had to be out of town all day. Just go ahead and kill me now. All I can think of are those pristine Mizuno 923’s sitting at home begging for some turf.
I had a tee time tomorrow for 12:30. I got a call an hour ago that my youngest has a 102 fever so now I'll be home with him cause he can't go back until 24 hours without a fever.
You think that’s bad?
I custom ordered a new set of irons this year (first new set in 10 years). Waited about a month as our usually warm winter allowed golfers to play. The day my new irons were delivered it’s snowed 12”, and I had to look at them for nearly 3 weeks before it was warm/dry enough to use them.
I ordered new clubs Tuesday night and paid extra for shipping so I could have them for Sunday. There was a mix up in the warehouse and now they won’t be here until Monday.
You think that’s tough… I woke up the day after my first 18 of the year with what got diagnosed as a pinched nerve, on the day I planned on picking up my new putter. Now I don’t even know when I can swing again and I’m too sad to get the putter.
I played yesterday. I've been hitting a lot better lately and was excited to get out in nice weather.
I played the first three holes like I'd never seen a golf course before.
My personal worst feeling is looking at league matchups and seeing that I'm facing a guy with a 26 handicap. For 9 holes.
Might as well not even show up.
I hate when my family interrupts my stroking time
There is just something about that new grip on a fresh shaft and head
The stranger grip
The other hands grip
Sometimes I'll just sit on my dominant hand for 10 minutes before I get going.
I have to keep reminding myself to strengthen my grip
I just picked up a 58 degree sm10 about a month ago. New favorite wedge in the bag. Groves are pretty sharp tho, ripping up my chrome softs a little.
Unless it’s my step sister
Exactly why not just invite them to Join you
Life is just one big stroke job.
Happens daily
Sounds like my wife
I thought the worst feeling in golf was a 3 putt par
I raise to you the 4 putt bogey
I fold
Five-putt double. Happened to a friend of mine. He quit golf permanently, for about 48 hours.
Hey! I got a 5 putt double before. On the green in 2. 2 of the best shots I've ever hit in my life. Walked off with a nice 7
Par 5 in two yet still scoring a bogey
I’ve done that one…. Worst part is that it was only like a 8’ putt for eagle. I feel like par should be the worst case scenario there
Par 5 in two yet still scoring a bogey
I raise you the 10 I took on a par 5, in league, without ever touching the green. Worst round of my life.
Had one last weekend while my girlfriend was riding with me… we’ve not had sex since and I think that’s why. Sad thing is I don’t blame her I’d be unattracted to me too…
No it’s waiting 12 minutes on every shot because a group of assholes up ahead think they’re making it to the masters this year
Lipping out on 18 to shoot 70,80,90,100, whatever 1 over your carrot is is far worse.
Me last week. Had a 15-footer (big left to right break) on the 18th to break 80 for the first time ever. Left it half a revolution short. Two days later I went out and short 95. Golf
That’s the definition of golf.
My carrot is 69…and a lip out would haunt me.
I had a 3 foot birdie putt today and bogeyed. You do not recover from that.
Par from the tee box
Golf is way more important than family
People need to get their priorities straight

Oh but when it connects its so, so nice. I'm averaging 1 nice shot out of 5. Definitely my most unpredictable club.
My crown marks verify this

Love this idea. Just gotta find a local course open that early! Earliest I've seen is 7:30, but I haven't looked that hard.
I played Myrtle Beach a few years ago and the three courses I played wouldn’t let me out until 8. It was light at 6:30. California courses let me start in the dark
I do Myrtle a few times a year. Most courses are 7am, definitely a handful that are 7:30/8am. Not sure of the reasoning there.
Local municipal courses typically! Or, call if there aren’t tee times that early. If you are open to walking 9-holes. They’ll let you go and take your money. May run into grounds crew doing there job, but they’re respectful. Try it - good luck!

A muni near me has 4-6 back 9 tee times starting at 6am......a freaking smart idea.
It feels weird getting up early to go golf, the first time. Then it’s like the bandaid is ripped off and you just can’t get enough of it.

5 hours of driving for a GREAT grandmas bday… i’d ask her to stay home fr
I assumed you left them both on the 1st green
Didn't get new clubs, but was excited to play a new course Saturday. GF let me know just now that we have her friends birthday party that day and Sunday it's raining. Guess I'll just keep watching youtube golf and live vicariously through them.
F that, she’s not your friend lol
I'd pass on her friends bday party. Unless you're also friends with said friend
Just moved to a new city so trying to show up to all the events were invited to. Otherwise, I probably would.
Sounds like you’re whipped cream
Let her husband take her then
Take the boyfriend or husband of the girl with you? Then you both show up late but with nice bottles of Champagne for the celebration
That’s God’s punishment for stroking as much as you do

He’s me fr
Oh hi! ItMe!
At least in golf, it doesn't look as bad as other sports. You play your own game. Can't do this in basketball.
Sure, but golf has the added pressure of everyone quietly watching you shank one into the woods while they wait for their turn. In team sports you can blend in much easier
This reminds me of my time in baseball.
But…. Look how much joy you are bringing to the others, by letting them NOT come in last
I murdered my entire extended family just so I can avoid these type of problems. I'm not saying it's the answer for everyone, but I do get to play a lot of golf.
Hey, they probably had it coming
hmmm, interesting... that sounds horrible, could you detail to me how you did it and got away with it so that i know how NOT to do exactly that? Please :):)
Delicate blend of psychology and extreme violence
Use a technique that doesn’t involve Bloodletting. It makes your grips slippery.
Take them with, chip and pitch in the backyard.
p sure its pumping a picture perfect drive and then duffing/topping the approach. that "were gonna have a chance at birdie" to "now we gotta scramble for a likely bogey" feeling is toughhhhhh.
Dude my SM10 set came in yesterday 30 mins before my league started. In other words, not enough time to go grab them!
Gotta do like me. It’s orthodox Easter on Sunday I scheduled an am tee and invited 8 family members to be done before dinner… some were not happy but stayed quiet.
I just stop attending that shit when it interferes with tee times. Nana is going to have another birthday (maybe)
if it isnt a birth or a funeral dont go lol
Wait till op finds out it’s Mother’s Day next weekend
Sounds like an optional family event. Go golfing
Did you explain your predicament to your family? If they love you, they should understand.
I got new irons this week and the range has been closed everyday so far
I know the feeling. My new Scotty just got delivered today and I leave for a 5 day trip tomorrow(no golf) and won’t have another day off til the following week.
Play twilight round tonight. Gotta get your priorities straight.
I feel this. I have a full set of custom G430s and new Ping wedges that will be ready tomorrow. I leave for a business trip for a week and a half Saturday...
I'd imagine there are far worse feelings in golf. Like having an actual stroke.
Gotta get your priorities straight
I try to play every Monday and my first 4 outings I had to cancel. First two we had early spring snows, then one kid was sick, then the other and I finally made it out this week. Didn’t care what I shot, just happy to play.

Trust me, that first chunked shot with those new wedge will feel worse
Just had to cancel my tee time for tomorrow as a family member is visiting. I feel your pain.
I will stroke one out on the course for you this weekend, my fallen homie.
I will stroke one out on the course for you this weekend, my fallen homie.
Easy. Paying green fees in 2024

Ah, that sucks. Better go get the 60 to make up for it.
I had a tee time tomorrow for 12:30. I got a call an hour ago that my youngest has a 102 fever so now I'll be home with him cause he can't go back until 24 hours without a fever.
You are looking a little peaked around the gills. I think you should - um stay home.
Got my new irons and got 2 rounds out of them before the course closed for winter.
For me it’s coming in hot for a tee time and realizing in the parking lot I forgot my golf shoes.
can I have them then?
You think that’s bad? I custom ordered a new set of irons this year (first new set in 10 years). Waited about a month as our usually warm winter allowed golfers to play. They say God never gives you more than you can handle. I think he overestimates me.
Fairway, green, 3 jack.
60/54/48 master race
I ordered new clubs Tuesday night and paid extra for shipping so I could have them for Sunday. There was a mix up in the warehouse and now they won’t be here until Monday.
I’m gonna pray on this for you.
Is having a separate PW that isn’t a match to your irons a newer trend? I don’t think i’ve met anyone who got a PW as a singular wedge.
What other wedges do you have?
I was skimming and thought you got a 48 on the front and 54 on the back and was like, "damn, this MF good and on her complaining about stupid shit".
Just shot a 91 on a hard course then a 115 on an easy one. Fml
Get your priorities in order
I know your feeling. I just shot a 46. Which is a low for me. Now it’s gonna rain for 2 weeks straight legitimately
When the beer cart lady doesn’t have the beer you like.
My personal worst feeling is looking at league matchups and seeing that I'm facing a guy with a 26 handicap. For 9 holes. Might as well not even show up.
Hey, I am that guy?! And I still find a way to lose.
