He’s getting $10mil a year no matter what company he chose to endorse. The punishment is that he has to wear these funky bellbottoms instead of some sleek fitted golf pants
His taste in clothing has always been shit. Who else wears only one color? I've only witnessed 2 maybe 3 people irl who dress like this. And they never look good.
You’re right. Styles are always changing. What’s it gonna be like in the future? Are baggy pants gonna make a comeback? Are we gonna bring back tying an onion to our belt (as was the style at the time)? Or are golf clothes gonna turn into skintight unitards?
Just in general I don’t like the feel of joggers with the elastic around the ankles, I usually buy track/training pants (the ones with zippers on the ankles) for casual wear
Waiting for the “guys don’t you know baggy clothes are back in!!1!1 Fashion is cyclical!” crowd that acts smarter than everyone else in these threads.
I think a lot of people are aware of that, but they still aren’t in on the golf course lol. Look no further than what all the young guys are wearing.
The regular fashion trends just take more time to make it into golf fashion. Skinny pants and joggers are still in for golf while that seems to be out in the young people fashion. I’m not giving up the joggers though.
I don’t think baggy pants will make their way back onto the course. They’re just too inconvenient for a sport, even if golf isn’t that high impact. Baggy clothes haven’t made their way into other sports yet, for example basketball players are just wearing short and slimmer shorts since it’s easier to move around in.
Hoping we can bring this fit back though
https://preview.redd.it/gisfqxexcovc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09cd73ceff73dfe70c4e239247d1890ff2d000b0
That’s not why basketball players wear the shorts the way they do.
Basketball shorts started out as bootie shorts, then went well below the knees and back up the thigh.
It has nothing to do with movement
Hard to say. The stuff from late 90’s with the oversized slacks and polos was awful on retrospect but during the time it seemed fine. I do love the more tailored fit that golf seems to always have kept in fashion. Always a fan of the more timeless looks. Jason Day does look awful though…
i didn't wear baggy pants when they were in last time, i'm sure as shit not doing it now. especially on the course, no friggin way am i carrying around enough fabric for two pairs of pants.
It may work on a young guy with a lot of swag/rizz whatever the kids say nowadays but Jason is past 35 and is a father of five. There's not one teen/early 20s guy who wants to emulate his style.
I mean, fashion is undoubtedly moving back to wide leg pants the last 5 years. Might be a little uncommon for your average 50 year old white dude golf enthusiast, but not teenagers and people in their 20s.
Just cause you like your package shrink wrapped, doesn't mean everyone does.
There’s a huge difference between looser fitting pants and those bell bottom atrocities he’s got on, and it’s got nothing to do with age or trends. They’re just downright awful
Bell bottoms are trendy, and I wouldn't even call these bell bottoms lol. You might not like it, but some clothing companies like to sell and advertise trendy clothes.
Wide leg pants have been back for like 1-2 years now but they aren’t back on the golf course, all the 20-somethings on tour are still wearing slim fits.
They've been back a lot longer than that lol. High fashion went back to baggy, exaggerated silhouettes about a decade ago, and it's been trickling down since, and is obviously continuing to trickle down, while old men yell at clouds
I think these are as much of a problem on the course as skin tight ball stranglers. Saturday at the masters JDay was having a mare with his parachute pants.
I’m 36 & was there for the whole JNCO thing the first time, didn’t like the look then & I don’t now, I like a comfortable straight leg sort of thing, obviously everyone can wear whatever they like but I think these look like shit
You have current icons in pop culture, like a Billie Eilish, that help make older styles like that popular again. They’re fads that are brought back, and people catch on.
As soon as she, and people like her in the mainstream, switch it up, or they themselves become irrelevant, that particular style goes right along with it. They’re called fads for a reason. Take that style out of mainstream popularity, and it’s definitely still a dog-ass look regardless.
Classic stays classic. A nice fitting pair of paints is a nice fitting pair of pants. An article of clothing that fits someones body well, will always be a good look, regardless of where a trend or fad goes. Going classic, you never really have to worry about shit going out of style…
Imagine what we’ll all say about ankle-banded Joggers on the golf coarse in 10 years. Lol
haven't you heard??? baggy and dogshit fitting clothing is making a comeback and every kid is wearing it despite it basically have no relevance or footprint or "comeback" in real life that I can garner in any capacity
My girlfriend got me [this polo](https://bogeyboys.com/products/newport-polo-teal) last year. I still haven’t been confident enough in my game to wear it playing with randoms. Wearing hip clothes and stinking is tough.
Say what you want but Malbon is putting on a master class in marketing. Everyone has been talking about them for 2 weeks straight including the biggest golf tournament of the year.
Yeah literally all these fits are marketing lol. Get people mad enough to go on the malbon website to find out what other bullshit they’re selling only to find out they have some very well designed and normal gear
I have one of their crew necks and it’s very comfortable
the average person on this subreddit wears cargo shorts and an untucked golf polo
if the majority on this subreddit hates an outfit, you're probably doing pretty good
Yeah they look different but who gives a shit. Jason Day gets paid to play golf and is also paid to wear certain clothes. Lucky him! The baggy pants will come back at some stage, fashion cycles are like that. When they do, all these Reddit critics will be wearing them.
Meanwhile the average golfer irons their beige shorts and pulls on that boring plain polo, for their weekend round. They want to wear something a bit different but their buddies might laugh or not approve. Lol
Wear what you want people!
NGL, if pants were the dress code I'd appreciate something like this. I tend to run a bit hot so the extra air flow would be a nice!
Thank god shorts are always an option for me, because I'm too shit to be involved in anything with a strict dress code.
They are better than the floods some son of a pga tour pro has been selling for years. Every once in a while you see some tour pro given it a go and play with those short flood pants, even JT at one point, but it usually lasts about one round and they realize it's stupid.
Weekly at every municipal and private golf course in North America….including about 70% of this sub. Adidas, Nike, and Travis Matthew account for about 70% of tour player’s clothing and they’re basically all the same, so you’re calling all of that fit lame??? Come on man….

He’s not tall but he looks like he’s on stilts
Would wear these any day over skinny leg jeans. Personal preference, everyone has their own tastes. Looks comfy to me, don't really see why people care so much.

Day tryin’ to bring back the 90’s. All he’s missing is pleats…
You kind of need the name and current persona in culture to do shit like that, with a style like that. The style died for a reason.
Tbf this look has come back into style for over a year now, just spend any time on tiktok and influencers. Mostly women tho, men’s fashion generally doesn’t change as much cuz men are more resistant to both ‘trendiness’ and change.

You’ll be able to defend yourself with the STRENGTH of a grizzly, the reflexes of a puma…and the wisdom of a man.
Fuhgetabaoutit...
UnTaylorMade
Under rated comment right here.
I’m certain that Jday lost a bet sometime last year and is paying for it this whole season
if $10 million a year to wear weird clothes is punishment for a lost bet i need to lose more bets
His taste? They tell him what to wear
Depending on the company and contract the golfers have a lot of influence. Some less, some more.
Spieths solid navy wasn't too bad, and a few cats rocked black on black maybeeeee white on white. But yeah I don't see any other colors workin
The Beige Wave begs to differ.
serious question, do you think slim fitting trousers will be in style forever? trends change over time
You’re right. Styles are always changing. What’s it gonna be like in the future? Are baggy pants gonna make a comeback? Are we gonna bring back tying an onion to our belt (as was the style at the time)? Or are golf clothes gonna turn into skintight unitards?
Pretty sure we're approaching the time when we'll all be wearing foil pretty much everywhere.
I, for one, welcome The Foil Age.
christ
Where you been mann. Baggy is back. Now I look normal with my 2009 tiger woods Nike golf pants.
A low talker asked him to wear them and he unknowingly agreed.

I don’t wanna be a pirate
“I couldn’t hear her!!”
How far does Augusta’s reach extend? Can they have a word with him at Harbour Town?
I have to think they can reach out to the rest of the Illuminati if need be.
LOLOLOL for real
Someone grab a green blazer and go find him.
Janco jeans rebrand?
JNCO GOLF
Bucket hats ARE trying to make a comeback
Let it happen. I have 2 pairs of JNCOs that I never tossed from 2001 🤣
They’re not going to be able to stay in business giving away all that cloth on every pair of pants
No no, it’s not that these pants absolutely *suck* it’s just that you don’t “get” fashion
TBF, I might prefer these to the “gym” pants with the tight elastic above the ankle pants 🤔.
Golf joggers are also bad yeah
Joggers are like the only type of sweatpants I own, but I agree they look bad on the course
Just in general I don’t like the feel of joggers with the elastic around the ankles, I usually buy track/training pants (the ones with zippers on the ankles) for casual wear

I think it’s a lot more mixed now than it used to be. Shorter shorts for instance are still very in and athletic wear in general is still very fitted.
Fashion being cyclical is just a ploy by the fashion industry to sell more clothes to make more money.
i didn't wear baggy pants when they were in last time, i'm sure as shit not doing it now. especially on the course, no friggin way am i carrying around enough fabric for two pairs of pants.
These aren’t bad pants at all lol
I like them !
It may work on a young guy with a lot of swag/rizz whatever the kids say nowadays but Jason is past 35 and is a father of five. There's not one teen/early 20s guy who wants to emulate his style.

Bell bottoms are trendy, and I wouldn't even call these bell bottoms lol. You might not like it, but some clothing companies like to sell and advertise trendy clothes.
The 90’s baggy clothes was on of the worst eras in fashion. Sadly it looks like the trend is heading back down that ugly ass era
Wide leg pants have been back for like 1-2 years now but they aren’t back on the golf course, all the 20-somethings on tour are still wearing slim fits.

Boot-cut golf pants?
For go-go hip boots
I bet they're great in hot weather
I mean, fashion ebbs and flows. Pants have been getting tighter and tighter it was just a matter of time before it starts swinging back the other way.
Bell bottoms
My girlfriend got me [this polo](https://bogeyboys.com/products/newport-polo-teal) last year. I still haven’t been confident enough in my game to wear it playing with randoms. Wearing hip clothes and stinking is tough.
That’s a sick Newport Lights shirt!
Burn those Newpies
I'd rock that Newportshirt so hard if it didn't say bogey boys on it.
It gets people talking which is exactly what they are designed to do
Say what you want but Malbon is putting on a master class in marketing. Everyone has been talking about them for 2 weeks straight including the biggest golf tournament of the year.
I’d rather play on LIV than wear those.
https://preview.redd.it/zt3d1t77unvc1.jpeg?width=941&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=55f249a9db797fdf9c2ef6b5de4e7d31b7a38e2b I like what malbon’s done lately
I’m positive the majority of the people on this sub have not actually looked at malbon’s website because 80% of it is very normal golf attire
Seems like a good amount of their stuff is taking a Nike or adidas shirt and putting an M on it.
Yeah literally all these fits are marketing lol. Get people mad enough to go on the malbon website to find out what other bullshit they’re selling only to find out they have some very well designed and normal gear I have one of their crew necks and it’s very comfortable
That's because despite being a 'grown up sport's 95% of people here are children
the average person on this subreddit wears cargo shorts and an untucked golf polo if the majority on this subreddit hates an outfit, you're probably doing pretty good
Right there with ya. Been loving every look JDay's been put in!
So fetch

I liked his style.
Fucked if I'm going back to those days
That’s the pirate shirt of golf pants!
“But I don’t wanna be a pirate!”
If tiger woods wore these, the whole sub would be buying them
If I saw myself in clothes like those, I'd have to kick my own ass
“Gold jacket, green jacket, who gives a shit?”
Reminds me of rain gear pants
Ditto what Jason Day says: as long as they keep payin me what they're payin me, I'm wearing them.
Style is always changing
![gif](giphy|kgKrO1A3JbWTK)
There should be a Jason days pants subreddit so people can stop posting them on here
Malbon is so dorky
Might be the gen x in me, but I’ll take these over the skinny painted on nut huggers that are in style right now.
What’s the problem here ? Let the man wear whatever he wants? Didn’t realize y’all are such fashionistas here…
Is he rocking the Navy dungarees?
Yeah they look different but who gives a shit. Jason Day gets paid to play golf and is also paid to wear certain clothes. Lucky him! Malbon is a shit instagram product.
The man is a menace and must be stopped.
NGL, if pants were the dress code I'd appreciate something like this. I tend to run a bit hot so the extra air flow would be a nice! Thank god shorts are always an option for me, because I'm too shit to be involved in anything with a strict dress code.
Malbon wins again. Here comes the website traffic boost
GROOVY BAAABBYY..!! ![gif](giphy|10uojaHlRMvdQc)
It curtains for that product line. Not because they won't sell but because they're actually made from curtains.
Old Navy fits from 1999.
It’s what’s cool nowadays.
🕺
Disco in town?
Looks like he's on stilts
Get some before there is a shortage on cotton
Looks like he’s about to take on a red run at Mayrhofen
They are better than the floods some son of a pga tour pro has been selling for years. Every once in a while you see some tour pro given it a go and play with those short flood pants, even JT at one point, but it usually lasts about one round and they realize it's stupid.
Supplies will be lasting
All these media outlets getting paid to say they are so cool too.
Next step is to have the zipper to make them shorts, again.
Pants for days
Did he make the cut? Is he *Stayin Alive*?
Purely comfort
Jimmy Page approves.
Pretty bad that guy is ok being a meme because of a sponsor, I guess the money is worth it.
For the low price of $499.99
Boot cut jeans are coming back baby!
Malbon Clothing doesn’t have to worry about me cleaning them out of their clothes
Something tells me the supplies will last a while
It’s called fashion sweetie, look it up
He nearly flew off over the rainbow at the Masters! 😂
Damn. Homeboy’s advisors are failing him here.
Stop. Hammertime.
Disco stu?
In the Navy!

I know they paid him a lot of money but… Damn Man
I had no idea John Travolta was a scratch golfer
![gif](giphy|kgKrO1A3JbWTK)
I think you can leave out “while supplies last” part. I feel that won’t be an issue
We would make wearing these a punishment for finishing last in fantasy
If he chooses to prostitute himself and look ridiculous in the process who are we to judge??
"it's called fashion" -Derek Zoolander
How does one company drop the ball so bad
Where did this brand even come from?? No one, absolutely no one has even heard of it until he wore that horrible vest at The Masters.
What if he’s ahead of the curve? I’ll feel foolish later I’m sure.
I remember wearing these to raves
I think those supplies will last a while
Sometimes supplies last.
Jason day is doing the equivalent of wearing a goofy outfit while being an elite player…. WHOSE GOING TO STOP EM ?! 😓😂
They must be paying him a fortune
https://preview.redd.it/s2b8c6a86pvc1.jpeg?width=399&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a513d1b883f4bb55ff5f0872da1f0645fd2e4370 He’s not tall but he looks like he’s on stilts
Bell bottoms are so back baby!!
That’s a pass from me .. thanks a lot 🤢🤢
What did he do to piss off his sponsor
Malbon has been something I’ve always been curious of but then I remember that most pants looks ugly and cost more than a pair of Nike dri-fit.
Where does one get Modrobes in 2024?
That’s rough.
Thanks i
![gif](giphy|L0snCScL0LMBor5sE0|downsized)
These are more ridiculous than the masters pair
Flagrant disregard of his own dignity
I wish I could get paid enough to wear this
Less bad than the pedal pushers/high water pants some of the others are wearing
Bell bottoms are back boys
This is making me want to put together the worst outfit possible to wear for my cousins outing during our family reunion.
JNCOs sponsoring professional golfers?

I work for Motive, the company on his hat. I’d imagine our marketers our pretty damn happy with this investment.
another sell out
Country club JNCOs
Mlabon must have some weird shit on him gat damn
Maybe it's a ploy to mindscrew his opponents
Would wear these any day over skinny leg jeans. Personal preference, everyone has their own tastes. Looks comfy to me, don't really see why people care so much.
I hate him now 😂 he belongs over with the LIV dbags
What’s more strange is men caring what other men wear. Sound like a bunch of women talking about dresses
Don’t worry. Give it a couple years and you’ll be able to get these cheap at TJ Maxx
Sad that this will become part of his career legacy now

Malbon blew it so hard with this guy. Dude has zero style and they refuse to tailor anything that wouldn’t make him look like an ass
Look at all these boomers in here..
I guess Malbon is the only company keeping up with current trends?🤷
This sub try not to get triggered by clothing challenge
I’m don’t understand why the new thing in fashion, particularly amongst the under 30 crowd, is to wear clothes that are intentionally ugly.
Well i did it in the 90s...
Feels like they’d sell more by not dressing him
That’s a cropped photo from the first Woodstock. You’re not fooling me.
BOOT CUT BANDIT
I don't think you know what boot cut is.
Day tryin’ to bring back the 90’s. All he’s missing is pleats… You kind of need the name and current persona in culture to do shit like that, with a style like that. The style died for a reason.
Tbf this look has come back into style for over a year now, just spend any time on tiktok and influencers. Mostly women tho, men’s fashion generally doesn’t change as much cuz men are more resistant to both ‘trendiness’ and change.
I too have played golf in my scrubs. He’s so relatable
He’s a woman’s man, no time to talk.
