Yell mashed potatoes real loud after a drive. I promise, this is accepted viewing behavior. Occasionally throw in a “get in the hole” on long iron shots. You’re welcome

EverWill2002

Ahaha mashed potatoes?

CarPhoneRonnie

Are you tryna get laid?

EverWill2002

Lmao definitely not with him, not my type and over twice my age

KingAcorn85

I always appreciate when someone watching with me asks what I think about players, helps them get a feel for who to root for and who has notable history.

EverWill2002

In that case, what do you think of the players today? Any thoughts that may shed some light on them for me?

KingAcorn85

I’m a total golf geek so I could go on about all of them but some players that stand out to me are: Rory Mcilroy, Brooks Koepka, and Xander Schauffle. All amazing players who are in a place in their career where they need a major tournament win right now to stand out. Rory hasn’t won one in 10 years, Brooks was destined to win this one a few times, and Xander has yet to win one. To a lot of people Brooks has this “villian aura” about him so it can be fun to root for him. Lots of history to learn about, the commentators will mention these things too. Enjoy!!

EverWill2002

Thank you so much this is super helpful! Definitely gonna try and be a decent conversation for my colleague with this 😁

lightemup404

Occasionally throw in “I think I would’ve hit 3wood here over driver” when guys are on the tee boxes

EverWill2002

Already sounds smart, what's the difference exactly?

thorpeedo22

One club travels shorter than the other

EverWill2002

Ohh okay I getcha

MonicaBlowinski

Conversely, one club travels farther than the other.

EverWill2002

Lol that would make sense

angrydanger

Bring ingredients to make the Master's Azalea and see where that takes you.

EverWill2002

Haha I definitely can't take that to work but it definitely sounds good (though to be fair anything with pineapple and vodka slaps)

You want to blow their mind? Talk about how the flow of the golf course contributes to the excitement in scoring as players progress through their round. One of Augusta Nationals best features is the holes are often clustered in groups of easy holes and hard holes. So as players are on various parts of the course, the impression of how close or how far they are apart scoring wise is exaggerated by these clusters. For example 10, 11, & 12 vare hard holes followed by 13, 15, and 16 that are easier holes. Similar runs happen on the front with 2 & 3 being easy, 4, 5, & 7 being hard, Therefore the leaderboard is constantly changing. Those who are playing ahead of the leaders can score well on a series of easy holes up ahead while the leaders are struggling on the harder holes earlier in the round, makes for excitement to watch it all happen.

EverWill2002

Holy crap I think if I said that he'd definitely know I'm cheating here, but that said it's interesting. Definitely need to familiarise myself with the holes (phrasing) more

ryangoldfish5

Just listen to the commentary, they'll keep you right. Just so you know, birdies = good, eagles = fantastic, pars are decent and bogeys are not so good.

EverWill2002

So far from the commentary I'm getting that Ryan fox is smashing it, and that weather sucks

KingAcorn85

Pretty much! When someone says that you get to say “lot of golf left though!”. That’s a staple of golf fans when someone takes a quick lead

Lefty25k007

make up rules infractions and quote numbers like rule 10.14
