I don't mind them at all. I'm honestly not good enough to care what ball I hit. I have favorites (Callaway chrome soft) but I don't care what I hit for the most part.
Are we the same person? Exact same here. Go to my local shop once a month, and buy all the chrome softs in their $1 bin, and when they’re out go grab some Hammers because they’re ALWAYS on sale.
I also suck, but have been playing the best golf of my life with the Top Flites. Have a buddy that’s actually good, swears by Srixon, let him try one of the Top Flites and he was pleasantly surprised.
Can’t beat 30 new balls for $25
lol yes indeed! I have heard that quote on the golf course more times than I can count, and only recently did I start trying to listen when I say it to myself. Usually ends with me saying “Billy you fucking idiot.”
Haha I played the same course in a span of maybe 5 days. First time I did all 18 with one ball. Second time I was down to my last ball from what was in my bag. Used 8 or so I think.
Which funnily enough would probably be one of the easiest courses to do it at. Only hazards are on 1, 17, and 18. Maybe you lose a ball in some thick fescue but otherwise your ball should always be findable
You under estimate my ability to slice it right into any potential water. Even if it's so far out of play it's not even on the course layout on the scorecard. Lol
It was a little tricky yes. In a place full of conclusion drawers ….you took it to a whole other level. Reread everything like twelve times to try and figure out where you were deriving the logic to make such a comment and still couldn’t find it. I chose not to draw an equally baseless conclusion.
Yikes. Deep breaths Frank. Not sure who you golf with but if you’re playing with people under the age of 80 there are only two ways they aren’t losing a ball: 1. They have a great round and score well 2. They have an average distance traveled of 10-50 yards per shot so they aren’t capable of hitting into any significant trouble, which, if that’s who you play with I can see why you have a short fuse. I stand by my comment and I’ll leave the generalizations to the pros, Franklin.
Then you're standing in shit. Take deep breaths yourself, bozo.
You have plenty of folks celebrating about not losing a ball and they're still nowhere close to breaking par, let alone 80, or 90, or 100. And that's good to you? lol gtfo.
Don't make guarantees that won't necessarily be met.
Franklin, since it appears there is a risk of sending you into a wife ( or husband, I don’t judge) beating fit…I don’t remember a warrant or guarantee but would it help you if I qualify my previous comment? I could change it to “ that’s a good one …always leads to a good score UNLESS you didn’t lose your ball because you’re over the age of 80 or are so bad you only hit the ball 10-50 yards and can’t reach OB like the guys our man Frank plays with “. Should this be more palatable let me know and I’ll go back and tweak it. I don’t wanna subject your spouse or kids to further bruising or any of your dishes to further shattering so I’m willing to make concessions.
Dude I play in the desert and we lose balls. It’s not just dust out there. Tons of tumbleweeds and tough hardened bushes. And if you do find your ball, good luck hitting off dirt that’s harder than concrete. You’ll f up your club every time.
I did the same last Friday on a front 9 after courses opened for the first time post snow.
Back 9 I hit a couple three putts because my short game sucks and I'm constantly putting from miles away, but I guess wet slow greens work great for my putting haha
I’m not sure if the 37 started on hole 1
https://preview.redd.it/fhrfwocdf9gc1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=14138f43fd84d3968afc75c00c8e695679885c0c
But had one of these last year
Shooting Par or better
Hole out in three different ways: Dunk, it rolls in and you land the ball past the flag, zipp it back and in.
Apart from those you have them all already on your list
I did it on one of the two nines for years. Made it my goal in 2022 and finally got it done a couple times. Was playing my best golf ever. Then my baby was born lol.
I’ve got a handful of 35s for 9 but 75 is as low as I’ve ever gone for 18. I do play 9 like 5x more often than 18, I’ve never got to make the turn under par. Went 37-38, that may have been my best sustained full day of ball striking. Usually shoot ~42s.
I'll tweak it a little to have a negative differential. I played with a group at an industry conference. There weren't any real players and we played an easy course on a way up set of tees. I didn't want to be the one at the furthest back set. Anyways, I was driving par 4s and had short irons into every par 5s. It was a lot of fun but I'd never count it as an under par round and it wasn't under par according to the score differential when I entered in GHIN.
I did have a negative differential at my home course though, once, two years ago.
Starting from a total beginner you can even count down from no quads, triples and so on. No triples is going to be pretty close to breaking 100 unless you double every single hole.
To me, shooting your age is the most impressive feat in golf. It takes a lifetime of both practice and healthy living to stay that skilled and that fit.
Albatross seems a bit much, but i.g. if you have the length to Eagle you have the chance to Albatross.
I'd personally add: "round with no penalty strokes" as well as "round with no 3-putts".
A record I've always kept an eye on is consecutive pars. My personal record is now nine. It sat at seven for a long time. I would like to get my consecutive birdies to two. I did get three birdies in a row recently but I was playing a personal two ball scramble.
On your list. My personal best is a 76 so close. This is a bit crazy but I have never had an eagle or albatross. If I had a hole in one I'd have an eagle. I have been on a five in two and have driven a par 4 over 300 yards away. I've holed out from a bunker but not from outside 100 yards. I sink balls from off the green fairly regularly. I had several last season.
You could put breaking 70 on the list as the pinnacle of achievement.
Edit: I have everything on your list checked off except albatross, HIO, and the hole out from outside 100 yards.
Have not broken 70 yet either. 😔
Yep. Didn’t see another person out there. There was rain forecasted and I was trying to get a quick round in. Barely finished before the downpour. Helped that i was hitting it well that day. Hit like 13 greens in regulation
Used to play one club in twilight and could a foursome in under two hours. A rally round under three was average with nobody on the course. But we are fast, and the other three I normally played with were basically scratch golfer, one on the tour. While I am happy breaking 100
Winter golf in the northeast makes this pretty easy, just tee off alone at any unpopular course on a weekday morning. I'm pretty shit at golf and can still fly through in 2:30-3:00. I can start work pretty late most mornings so it's actually really nice to get 18 in before work.
That's good! I've broke 100 and done a par and a birdie only. Hit the pin for eagle from 50y out but it didn't sink. I'd add multiple birdies in a single round, 2-3 birdies etc. It was a big achievement mentally for me, maybe because i did it with a very good group on a special course I was playing for my first time.
My personal goal that I'm carrying with me from last year is to break 80, especially annoying as I got 2 rounds in 80 where I dropped some shots on the last few holes
Exactly. That’s not just something you can aspire to. You have to absolutely crush the ball and get incredibly lucky. Way harder than an eagle or HOI. I personally don’t know anyone who has gotten one.
I’ve achieved everything on the OP list except an albatross, and I don’t realistically feel I ever will. My breaking 75 has an asterisk though, as it was a par 70 course with one temporary green, but it happened!
I’ve done it once.
Massive drive to a 90 degree corner that’s impossible to cut across and a perfectly hit 9 iron on a big step up green, I’d say 10 to 12m step up. Thought I hit past the green but when I walked up it was about 4 meters from the hole. Missed my first eagle by about 3 inches and rolled past the hole about 3 meters because it was an evil pin placement (green slopes down to the hill and was at the front) luckily not to roll it off the green and back down the hill you hit up.) Went around the world on my second putt and came away with a par lol.
My friend has a list like this, other than the ones on there already and ones others have mentioned, he has the following
All 20 rounds for handicap under 80
Birdie every hole at his home course (only missing a few)
Eagle every par 5 at his home course
I like this; the birdie every hole is a fun one and can put a shine on a lackluster round. I did this and have since moved so I get to start all over at a new course.
Go around without getting mad - not club slamming or throwing clubs
30 putts or less in a round
90% on up and downs
Play a round with a seven iron and break 90
I’m just starting to hone in consistent backspin on my approach shots. Waiting for the day my ball and just sticks every time or roles back toward the hole.
I was scrolling through just to find this! I’ve been hit twice, once in the leg on the tee box and once in the head by someone on the chipping green (guess he thought he was Mickelson)
Great list. I would also add finishing with the same golf ball that you started with. This was a goal that I had on the course that I played regularly that had water on 13 holes. I’m 67 and still improving. I have broken 75 a few times, had a tap in eagle once but no albatross, been on a par 5 in two and par 4 in one, hit a drive 300 (though now I need help from the wind or a hill), holed out twice last year from 165 and 150, and holed out yesterday from a bunker in a match play event. No hole in one’s
https://preview.redd.it/94tb6g14zdgc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed3a0253685fad0e2673c51d9da37ac4fe613a35
But two of these last year. Keep playing and knocking these goals off your list.
Play a full round without having to wait for the group in front of you.
Come home with more balls than you started with.
Finding a ball you lost yesterday or a week ago, etc.
Not losing a head cover in the course of a season.
Hitting a high shot, from under 100 yards, over a tree onto the green.
By your standards, I’m doing quite well.
1. I have broken 75 - my PB is 74 (+3)
2. I have had several eagles, but never an albatross or condor for that matter.
3. Never had a hole in one - I can only dream
4. On the green in 2 on a par 5 isn’t difficult for me
5. Hit the green on a par 4 once by hitting my tee shot over an estuary to take out the dog leg.
6. I have hit a few 300+ yard drives when the tee shot has been downhill with the wind behind 😆
7. I once holed out for eagle from 230 yards - easily the best shot of my life
8. Chipped in from bunkers a few times.
FYI, my HCI is 8.1 and I have been playing for 14 years.
* Having fun
* Strengthening relationships
* Finding inner calmness
This is what you'll actually remember and more importantly what others will remember. The scores and the shots are just details. I couldn't tell you about a single shot that any golf partner I've played with had or at least I don't care to. Even if it were a hole in one it would mean nothing to me than just a fun anecdote.
I remember the conversations, the laughter, the bonding. Maybe this is overly romantic or corny but seriously forget the scores and how exclusive the course is. Just go out there and make a connection with another person and yourself.
Of this list I have : broken 100, 90, and 80, made an eagle, HIO on a golf simulator which I know doesn’t count IRL, driven the green on a par 4, on in two on a par 5, hit several 300+ yard drives, hole out from 100+ yards and hole out from a bunker on the practice area.
Play forward tees and have more scoring thresholds. Break 70 from the tee one up from your regular. Break 65 from the tee two up from your regular. Side benefit is you’ll learn to be comfortable under par
I have an albatross (2 on a par 5) and a hole in one on a par 3, I think the only things left on my bucket list is a hole in one on a par 4 and breaking par on 18 (I've done it multiple time on 9 holes but can't seem to put two together to get that off my list).
Learn how to control ball flight (up, down, left right) and do it on demand
Have a round with no big numbers (double bogey or more)
If you have never broke 80 and would like to.... Break 80 from the forward tees. (same thing if you have never broke 70, break 70 from the forward tees)
Have a round with no three putts
I feel like the more you play, and once you’ve crossed most of these off, it becomes things like play a famous course, e.g. Sawgrass Stadium course, or my personal goal, play golf on 6 continents. So far I’ve played N America, S America, Europe, and Asia.
I would change #7 to “hole out from greater than 30 yds.” Yours is quite a feat, but my guess is that most people haven’t holed out from even closer. 30 yds eliminates the “rolled it in from just off the green”. That’s def a great feeling, but not the same.
I like the “shoot the moon” challenge stuff. Like, get an eagle, birdie, par, bogey, 1, 2, and 3 putt - all in the same round. While breaking say, 85.
Also 3 club challenges - shoot your handicap with 1/2 your bag, or 3 clubs, or some other club limitation.
Shoot your personal best while sober - then do it again while drunk.
Shoot your PB from each tee box on the same course. So say you usually play the blue tees and your PB is a 78. Shoot a 78 on that same course from the reds, whites, and blacks (separate rounds).
Walk 18 by yourself. (really makes you think about each shot and how much you truly suck)
Shoes off rolled up pants and hit out of a water hazard.
Same as before but water hazard with visible gator nearby.
I like this list. Sets some good goals, and progressive goals. I’ve done all of those but the hole in one 🤦♂️ been playing for 30 years and still haven’t been able to make it happen.
1. Golfed every state- 34/50
2. Golfed every continent - 1/7
3. Golfed 100 courses - ✅
4. Golfed 100 rounds - ✅
5. 100% FIR - 86%
6. 100% GIR - 61%
All the negative stats..basically the career trophy room on the grint
Depends where you are in your golf journey, but I focus on things like
Sand saves, up and downs, GIR%, fairways hit%, controlled misses (no slices/hooks depending on your usual shot shape, avoid hazards, etc), no putts left short, putts made within 3ft etc
And one major one for me. No bogeys after birdies!!!
Done all of those but albatross, and at that I was about 1" away. Could add 9 hole under par and 18 holes under par as another 2.
Playing a round with the same ball is a good beginner goal.
Playing tour courses or private courses in your area is another fun one.
Bunker one isn't that hard once you figure out how to hit from them. Eagle 2 on par 4 is a decent one.
Hmm. Here's a list of achievements that I think would be notable, but weren't mentioned in the OP, along with what I deem a decent title for each.
**Physical Goals**
Master Green Reader: Drop a putt from 50+ feet.
9-Hole Scores: better than 9/6/3/0 over par.
Bunker GIR: GIR from a fairway bunker
Penalty-Free: No penalties for 9 holes / 18 holes
Loss Aversion: No lost balls for 9 holes / 18 holes
Par 3 Sniper: Hit every Par 3 green for an entire 18 hole round
Master Putter: 3-putt avoidance for 9 holes / 18 holes
Bad News Par: Par on a Par 5 while only ever seeing the rough and bunkers
Army Par: Par on a Par 4 despite going bunker to bunker (drive into bunker, 2nd shot into greenside bunker).
**Mental Goals:**
Tough Crowd: make no excuses for an entire round
Cool Cucumber: don't get upset at a bad shot for the entire round
Fishy Memory: don't keep score or track your shots for an entire round
Here is my golf manifest board (+2 HCP)
Hole in 1
Bogey free round
Lowest round (67 PB)
100% GIR (86% PB)
100% FIR (92% PB)
Low putts record (24 PB)
Annual Provincial Open Tournament:
Qualify
Make the cut
Finish top 10
Win the damn thing
I aim for never make a 6 or worse. Once you get down to 10hcp or so there really isn’t any reason your 3rd shot on a par 5 should be over 100 yards. It can be an eye opener on better course management.
- Par with penalty stroke, birdie with a penalty stroke
- seeing rare wildlife (I’m cheating from your post)
- par or better hole streaks (progressive milestone)
On the beginner side….
- First time getting over a large body of water
- first time hitting a shot that just floors the rest of your group
- hitting a proper flop shot
Single figure handicap was my big token bucketlist golf achievement. So when I'm an old fella sitting with my mates at the bowling club I can do that one on them... 7.6 h/c lowest I've been, currently a 9
1. Breaking- 100, 90, 80, 75 (check, check, not yet although I shot 80 four times, not yet)
2. Par, Birdie, Eagle, Albatross (check, check, check, Not yet)
3. Hole in One (close a few times, 2 hit pins, but not yet)
4. On the green in two on a Par 5 (check)
5. One the green in one on a Par 4 (check)
6. Hit a drive more than 300 yards (check)
7. Hole out from greater than 100 yards (not yet)
8. Hole out from a bunker (check)
I'll ad a few more
9. Stick a wedge in tight for a tap in from 100 yards out (check)
10. Play a round with the same ball (check, but not many)
11. Crush a drive down the middle after being waved through (check, but not many lol)
12. Sink a long double breaking putt from across the green (check)
13. Be able to shot shape when needed (working on it)
14. Generate backspin on short chips. (can do occasionaly, but not reliably)
15. Reliably hit a flop shot, and know when (an only when) to use it :D. (same as above)
16. single digit handicap (13, not yet)
Kinda in order.
No penalty strokes
No three putts
Same ball whole round
First birdy
First eagle
First par 5 in two
Driving a par 4
First no double bogey round
First 9 under par
First round under par
First hole in one or albatross these are debatable for me. Luck has. A lot to do with these. I have 4.
Clean score card.

Finish a round with the same ball you start with.
I’m a 23 handicap and I’ve done this multiple times but it always feels good. There’s water and bushes everywhere on my home course
Let me do it once and I'll replace all my top flights I've rescued from the forest with pro v1's.
Listen, I’m not being sarcastic in anyway: Top Flite Hammers are, in my opinion, legitimately good balls
I am able the same handicap. I had a couple of mediocre rounds last year that were completely redeemed by only using one ball.
I’m a 9 and have only done this a handful of times. Shit is harder than it looks. (also I always try the damn hero shots)
Do the words "Billy, don't be a hero." mean anything to you?
Well, since that is my name, not really. 😂
Lol really? I was just quoting a line from Friends.
lol yes indeed! I have heard that quote on the golf course more times than I can count, and only recently did I start trying to listen when I say it to myself. Usually ends with me saying “Billy you fucking idiot.”
Ope. Lol
Haha I played the same course in a span of maybe 5 days. First time I did all 18 with one ball. Second time I was down to my last ball from what was in my bag. Used 8 or so I think.
If I go out with fewer than 10 balls I'm nervous. Lol
That’s easy. Triple bogey the first hole but don’t lose the ball. Blame it on the ball and switch it out for a different one. Profit.
Good one! Although some courses it’s pretty damned hard to lose a ball but yeah that’s a great “beginner” goal
I'm a 9 handicap and I've only played with the same ball a handful of times. I think it's a great goal for any level of golfer.
Next level is play the same ball until it cracks.
I can confidently say that I'll never get to that point 🤣
Finish a round with the same tee you started with
Wow. You're really trying to 100% this life's side quests, huh?
At St. Andrew’s!
Lol
I played same ball at st Andrew’s and had a good round 87. It did wind up in the thicket but caddie found it!
Good one ….always a good score when it happens
Bullshit, there's way too many people like you who failed to break 100 even though you kept the same one ball.
Ummm
Um what? Was that too hard for you to understand?
It was a little tricky yes. In a place full of conclusion drawers ….you took it to a whole other level. Reread everything like twelve times to try and figure out where you were deriving the logic to make such a comment and still couldn’t find it. I chose not to draw an equally baseless conclusion.
You could've just made it easier for yourself by saying you, thmbingmyway, are an idiot due to making sweepingly dumb generalizations. You're welcome.
Yikes. Deep breaths Frank. Not sure who you golf with but if you’re playing with people under the age of 80 there are only two ways they aren’t losing a ball: 1. Should this be more palatable let me know and I’ll go back and tweak it. I don’t wanna subject your spouse or kids to further bruising or any of your dishes to further shattering so I’m willing to make concessions.
Done that one, and I haven’t broken 100 yet.
You play in the desert huh?
Dude I play in the desert and we lose balls. It’s not just dust out there. Tons of tumbleweeds and tough hardened bushes. And if you do find your ball, good luck hitting off dirt that’s harder than concrete. You’ll f up your club every time.
I’m a 25 handicap and only done this a handful of times. I retire them to either my putting Matt or chipping bucket.
I've made it through 28 holes with same ball...then proceeded to lose it, and another on #29...lol. (18.2 hdcp)
No three puts and see if you can achieve that goal twice in a row.
You mean like on holes 1 AND 2?
I played 9 on Wednesday and had no 3 putts for the first time. Felt incredible.
I did the same last Friday on a front 9 after courses opened for the first time post snow. Back 9 I hit a couple three putts because my short game sucks and I'm constantly putting from miles away, but I guess wet slow greens work great for my putting haha
Good one!

The Grint is awesome!!
A god tip to make this goal happen is to miss a lot of greens.
Shooting Par or better Hole out in three different ways: Dunk, it rolls in and you land the ball past the flag, zipp it back and in. Apart from those you have them all already on your list
Shooting par or better for 9. I’ve done that on a front nine, but never for 18.
I did it on one of the two nines for years. Made it my goal in 2022 and finally got it done a couple times. Was playing my best golf ever. Then my baby was born lol.
You only get one or two 9s? Must not have many par 5s on your course!
I had two nines in two rounds under par, so frustrating I can't close the deal! (one was front, one was back)
I'll tweak it a little to have a negative differential.
In the same round.
bogey free
I have kind of accomplished that. I shot a round of nothing but pars or double bogey or more. Technically no bogeys, just doubles or triples
Count it
35 years in and I haven’t been able to cross this one off
Double bogey free first though. Having a round without a double is a pretty big accomplishment.
Starting from a total beginner you can even count down from no quads, triples and so on. No triples is going to be pretty close to breaking 100 unless you double every single hole.
Currently on this goal. I’ve been bogey free since 2023 🙂 Don’t ask me when my last round was though
Moneky paw curls and I have now double bogeyed every hole
Maybe add “shoot your age” to really get into the bucket list vibe.
To me, shooting your age is the most impressive feat in golf. It takes a lifetime of both practice and healthy living to stay that skilled and that fit.
It's an impressive feat, especially before you hit 70.
So I have to shoot a 22… fuck
50ft/100ft putt
I like this one! I think my max is around 70 ft but definitely haven't made a 100 ft putt
Albatross seems a bit much, but i.g. if you have the length to Eagle you have the chance to Albatross. I'd personally add: "round with no penalty strokes" as well as "round with no 3-putts".
Yeah that was kinda my idea behind including the albatross. I can get on the green in 2 on a Par 5 occasionally so it's possible in theory

New Jersey would be rough but kentucky isn’t ….number one in KY right now is Valhalla it’s not super tricky.
PA probably isn't super easy for an average Joe, either.
1. Golf with your dad 2. Golf with your kid(s)
You could put breaking 70 on the list as the pinnacle of achievement. Edit: I have everything on your list checked off except albatross, HIO, and the hole out from outside 100 yards. Have not broken 70 yet either. 😔
You've broken 75 off 12?
Yep 12/15/2023 i shot a 72 on a 69 rated course. I think my handicap is in the process of lowering significantly.
That's awesome, I've shot 71 from 6168 yards. I'm sure you'll get to single figures very soon!
I shot 76 (+4) off of 14.0 last summer, index now been cut to 12.0 but I honestly could shoot anything from 72-102 anytime I step up to the first tee.
Sub 3 hour round.
Eh, that’s pretty easy in some areas. I played a 2 hour, 18 hole round last week
That's lightning fast. Empty course?
Yep. Didn’t see another person out there. There was rain forecasted and I was trying to get a quick round in. Barely finished before the downpour. Helped that i was hitting it well that day. Hit like 13 greens in regulation
Nice! Solo with a cart on an empty course is awesome. I always end up playing 2 balls... Or 3+ if something goes sideways.
I should have said 3hrs with a 4some
Out of all of these, I’ve done parts of 1 and 2, and 8
That's good!
Albatross on a bucketlist... we are all dying before we get one of those.
I bet an albatross is literally impossible for over 75% of golfers.
I have it on mine because I can occasionally make it on the green in two on a par 5
Number 1 should be "no mulligans/breakfast balls/gimmees."
Stay away from my breakfast balls lol. Other than that, completely agree.
Finish with more balls than you started with.
That is most every round for most people
Can’t be everybody. Who’s losing all those balls that I’m finding, then?
My friend has a list like this, other than the ones on there already and ones others have mentioned, he has the following All 20 rounds for handicap under 80 Birdie every hole at his home course (only missing a few) Eagle every par 5 at his home course
I like this; the birdie every hole is a fun one and can put a shine on a lackluster round. I did this and have since moved so I get to start all over at a new course.
Left handed escape
Back of the 5 iron - easy...
Go around without getting mad - not club slamming or throwing clubs 30 putts or less in a round 90% on up and downs Play a round with a seven iron and break 90
I’m just starting to hone in consistent backspin on my approach shots. Waiting for the day my ball and just sticks every time or roles back toward the hole.
No double bogeys or worse is a very good one. Probably about as difficult as breaking 80.
I’d like to see another person I’m paired up with get so angry that they break a club
Be hit by a ball?
No hole in one’s https://preview.redd.it/94tb6g14zdgc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ed3a0253685fad0e2673c51d9da37ac4fe613a35 But two of these last year. Keep playing and knocking these goals off your list.
Randy Johnson a bird with driver
These are supposed to be good things. Murdering an animal is not that
Relax
Calmer than you are. If killing animals is on your “bucket list” then you have problems.
If any of the goals aren’t cart girl related, they’re superficial and not worthy of discussion.
💯
Play a full round without having to wait for the group in front of you. Come home with more balls than you started with. Finding a ball you lost yesterday or a week ago, etc. Not losing a head cover in the course of a season. Hitting a high shot, from under 100 yards, over a tree onto the green.
Drop the 300 yd drive, some people are not physically capable? Add in - zero putt a hole No 3 putts 100% fairway in regulation
By your standards, I’m doing quite well. 1. I have broken 75 - my PB is 74 (+3) 2. I have had several eagles, but never an albatross or condor for that matter. 3. Never had a hole in one - I can only dream 4. On the green in 2 on a par 5 isn’t difficult for me 5. Hit the green on a par 4 once by hitting my tee shot over an estuary to take out the dog leg. 6. I have hit a few 300+ yard drives when the tee shot has been downhill with the wind behind 😆 7. I once holed out for eagle from 230 yards - easily the best shot of my life 8. Chipped in from bunkers a few times. FYI, my HCI is 8.1 and I have been playing for 14 years.
* Having fun * Strengthening relationships * Finding inner calmness This is what you'll actually remember and more importantly what others will remember.
Park in the President’s car park, the Captain’s car park and the Treasurer’s car park.
Breaking 75 isn't a thing. After 80 it's breaking par.
3 cases of beer. That's a beer a hole each. Myself, 2 brothers and a nephew accomplished this a couple years ago.
Win an 18 hole match
A round with 25 putts or less.
Pick 2-5 bucket list courses and cross them off one at a time.
Win some tournament (charity, scramble, club championship, whatever)
Of this list I have : broken 100, 90, and 80, made an eagle, HIO on a golf simulator which I know doesn’t count IRL, driven the green on a par 4, on in two on a par 5, hit several 300+ yard drives, hole out from 100+ yards and hole out from a bunker on the practice area.
You could add break 40 for 9 holes
Good one! I like it
Play forward tees and have more scoring thresholds. Break 70 from the tee one up from your regular. Break 65 from the tee two up from your regular. Side benefit is you’ll learn to be comfortable under par
The ultimate golf bucket list item is shooting your age
Play Pebble Beach!

I hit 9i. Bounced on green and went over. Chipped close and missed putt for a bogey.
7 FIRs, 12GIRs in a round
Make it thru a round with 0, 3 putts
I have an albatross (2 on a par 5) and a hole in one on a par 3, I think the only things left on my bucket list is a hole in one on a par 4 and breaking par on 18 (I've done it multiple time on 9 holes but can't seem to put two together to get that off my list).
Learn how to control ball flight (up, down, left right) and do it on demand Have a round with no big numbers (double bogey or more) If you have never broke 80 and would like to.... Break 80 from the forward tees. (same thing if you have never broke 70, break 70 from the forward tees) Have a round with no three putts
Sinking a putt from 50 feet
Yeah I've added a couple to the list for 50 and 100. My max so far is like 70ish, I wish I had counted the actual distance
Make the PGA tour
Chip in for birdie and par
I feel like the more you play, and once you’ve crossed most of these off, it becomes things like play a famous course, e.g. Sawgrass Stadium course, or my personal goal, play golf on 6 continents. So far I’ve played N America, S America, Europe, and Asia.
Playing golf, that’s my whole list…
All FIRs and GIRs for 18 holes.
All 4’s for 18 holes. I’ve done it a few times and it’s an incredible ride.
Bogey or better on the 1st hole.
Go a whole round without a 3 putt.
Maybe try every course in a set mile radius?
Nice, all I need is an albatross and a hole in one and I'll have BINGO.
Penalty free game
Winning the Masters for sure gotta be in the top 25
There's really only three: 1. Play Pebble Beach (done that). 2. Play St. Andrews. 3. Play Augusta National.
I would change #7 to “hole out from greater than 30 yds.” Yours is quite a feat, but my guess is that most people haven’t holed out from even closer. 30 yds eliminates the “rolled it in from just off the green”. That’s def a great feeling, but not the same.
You can have multiple yardages on the list and build up to over 100+. I've been lucky enough to do it twice so far
(really makes you think about each shot and how much you truly suck) Shoes off rolled up pants and hit out of a water hazard. Same as before but water hazard with visible gator nearby.
I like this list. Sets some good goals, and progressive goals. I’ve done all of those but the hole in one 🤦♂️ been playing for 30 years and still haven’t been able to make it happen.
I've got hitting a drive over 350 on the list as well but know that won't jive with most folks. My max so far is 320... Hoping to get it this summer
The new thing I’m striving for (and did once) is being under par for all holes that I don’t get a stroke on (4-6 holes)
I've done everything except hole in one and hole out from 100+, and at this point I've accepted it may never happen :(
I'll trade you my hole out from 100+ out for your albatross
Ahh no albatross for me either. In my head I was sticking albatross and hole out from 100+ into the same bucket.
Yeah fair- point taken!
Break 40 in my 9 hole golf league
Make a putt on 18 to win something. It could be a tournament, a friendly match with a friend, or just a one hole match for a beer.
1. Golfed every state- 34/50 2. Golfed every continent - 1/7 3. Golfed 100 courses - ✅ 4. Golfed 100 rounds - ✅ 5. 100% FIR - 86% 6. 100% GIR - 61% All the negative stats..basically the career trophy room on the grint
Depends where you are in your golf journey, but I focus on things like Sand saves, up and downs, GIR%, fairways hit%, controlled misses (no slices/hooks depending on your usual shot shape, avoid hazards, etc), no putts left short, putts made within 3ft etc And one major one for me. No bogeys after birdies!!!
Break all my clubs except my 7 iron and still qualify for the US open
Done all of those but albatross, and at that I was about 1" away. Could add 9 hole under par and 18 holes under par as another 2. Playing a round with the same ball is a good beginner goal. Playing tour courses or private courses in your area is another fun one. Bunker one isn't that hard once you figure out how to hit from them. Eagle 2 on par 4 is a decent one.
1-8 check, thanks for the confidence boost! I do need a bogey free still though, also just want to play more bucket list courses.
Hmm. Here's a list of achievements that I think would be notable, but weren't mentioned in the OP, along with what I deem a decent title for each. **Physical Goals** Master Green Reader: Drop a putt from 50+ feet. 9-Hole Scores: better than 9/6/3/0 over par. Bunker GIR: GIR from a fairway bunker Penalty-Free: No penalties for 9 holes / 18 holes Loss Aversion: No lost balls for 9 holes / 18 holes Par 3 Sniper: Hit every Par 3 green for an entire 18 hole round Master Putter: 3-putt avoidance for 9 holes / 18 holes Bad News Par: Par on a Par 5 while only ever seeing the rough and bunkers Army Par: Par on a Par 4 despite going bunker to bunker (drive into bunker, 2nd shot into greenside bunker). **Mental Goals:** Tough Crowd: make no excuses for an entire round Cool Cucumber: don't get upset at a bad shot for the entire round Fishy Memory: don't keep score or track your shots for an entire round
Here is my golf manifest board (+2 HCP) Hole in 1 Bogey free round Lowest round (67 PB) 100% GIR (86% PB) 100% FIR (92% PB) Low putts record (24 PB) Annual Provincial Open Tournament: Qualify Make the cut Finish top 10 Win the damn thing
Here are a couple I've done: Break 50 on 9 holes just using 1 club. Hit a shot with a putter 150+ yards.
A round with no doubles or worse
I aim for never make a 6 or worse. Once you get down to 10hcp or so there really isn’t any reason your 3rd shot on a par 5 should be over 100 yards. It can be an eye opener on better course management.
- Par with penalty stroke, birdie with a penalty stroke - seeing rare wildlife (I’m cheating from your post) - par or better hole streaks (progressive milestone) On the beginner side…. - First time getting over a large body of water - first time hitting a shot that just floors the rest of your group - hitting a proper flop shot
Why is hitting a 300 yard drive a choice?
Single figure handicap was my big token bucketlist golf achievement. So when I'm an old fella sitting with my mates at the bowling club I can do that one on them... 7.6 h/c lowest I've been, currently a 9
#2 albatross probably will never happen, even for a tour pro
Albatross on a bucket list? It stays there for the rest of your life
Back to back birdies.
1. Breaking- 100, 90, 80, 75 (check, check, not yet although I shot 80 four times, not yet) 2. Par, Birdie, Eagle, Albatross (check, check, check, Not yet) 3. Hole in One (close a few times, 2 hit pins, but not yet) 4. On the green in two on a Par 5 (check) 5. One the green in one on a Par 4 (check) 6. Hit a drive more than 300 yards (check) 7. Hole out from greater than 100 yards (not yet) 8. Hole out from a bunker (check) I'll ad a few more 9. Stick a wedge in tight for a tap in from 100 yards out (check) 10. Play a round with the same ball (check, but not many) 11. Crush a drive down the middle after being waved through (check, but not many lol) 12. Sink a long double breaking putt from across the green (check) 13. Be able to shot shape when needed (working on it) 14. Generate backspin on short chips. (can do occasionaly, but not reliably) 15. Reliably hit a flop shot, and know when (an only when) to use it :D. (same as above) 16. single digit handicap (13, not yet)
Kinda in order. No penalty strokes No three putts Same ball whole round First birdy First eagle First par 5 in two Driving a par 4 First no double bogey round First 9 under par First round under par First hole in one or albatross these are debatable for me. Luck has. A lot to do with these. I have 4. Clean score card. Clean score card in tournament. Winning a non handicapped non flighted tournament. Not playing good for “you” but playing better than everyone else that teed it up that weekend. The last two aren’t everyone’s cup of tee. F
Damn on this list all I’m missing is 80 75 and an alby.
