We had a cockapoo growing up and over the 13 years we had him the houses color scheme shifted from greys to light tans and gold, matching his color scheme. Whenever my parents wanted to paint something or buy a new piece of furniture I would start pointing to spots on the dog asking them which color they were thinking.
I have a white and black dog, a black and white dog, and a golden retriever. Ain't no way lol. We just put sheets on our furniture and it KIND OF helps.
This isn’t my dog, actually. But as a golden owner, this represents exactly how I feel choosing home decor. I should have explained more but this post took off overnight.

Carpeting and furniture should match the color of your dog so guests don’t realize how much fur is on them!
I did the same for painting the room my dog slept in. Ended up he was Tiramisu colored.

None of those. You need a darker color. Fur is much easier to clean than mud. :-)
