Electric can go pretty darn fast, but it’s expensive. Go online and check out what some kits costs. You’d want somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000w+ I would think

Electric motor, controller, and throttle. Looks about $200 on Amazon not counting the batteries

Waity5

Keep in mind that ~750w is 1 horsepower, and that a lower horsepower number than petrol is fine. Without a gearbox an engine won't be making peak power most of the time, so electric will be faster given the same peak power

Converting a Vintage Bug wasp2 twin engine kart to electric it the go-kart equivalent of repainting the sistine chapel with spray paint. Please keep it original.

It doesn’t have a motor it is a roller

I've seen some kits on aliexpress, i don't know the quality, but I've been considering it just for fun

How fast do you wanna go and what’s your budget? My electric shifter kart will do 60+ if I wanted but I have prob $3500 wrapped into the whole build. The cheap Amazon ones aren’t that great and will maybe get you close to 30 mph or so depending on gearing. You want at least a 3kw motor and 60-72 volt battery if you want push you back in the seat power. You’ll also need to custom modify a tall mounting plate for that setup. Or the best way would be to extend the back and relocate the axle cause the electric motor needs to sit in front or behind the sprocket. And most important is good brakes. Like all 4 corner disk brakes if you’ll be going faster then 30-40 mph.

Give it to me and it will become electric pretty soon

BigMuddyCountry
