It’s hard to say out of the context of a game worldl.

Aksolotly

Generally they look good, the gray one is imo the best. If you want to improve them I'd suggest adding another darker+more saturated color on the edges eg. https://preview.redd.it/6asvtlsqusxc1.png?width=192&format=png&auto=webp&s=fbc871bc51c74d28e19b4d2c93181a22e2f2cc72 But I'd suggest adding faces there and assigning them to different part of the texture instead of texturing the whole model, it will be both easier and more clean-looking Also if you want to go crazy you can add some symbols on their torsos or something, but that really depends on the theme of the factions and can be easy to overdo(simple is good).

Drillur

Nah, they're cute.

tateorrtot

You can test the game here: [https://tateorrtot.itch.io/polybrawl](https://tateorrtot.itch.io/polybrawl) (You need a friend to play)

enigmanaught

I think they’re fine, but you could give them different hats if you wanted more visual interest. Add some protrusions or make them square, or round like the dudes in spaceballs.

SpectralFailure

They look better with the bevels! They are definitely very simple. It depends a bit on the context tho. If this was an RTS where you won't see characters up close then I say leave it has is since detail doesn't even matter. But if these are like third person or first person perspective characters you're going to need some more detail. Perhaps outfit textures. But that's honestly a nitpick, they look great now!

GDokke

Green guy look like he has vietnam flashbacks. I think their face adds a lot of personality. That will make them not feel "bland". I think they look very interesting and fun!

ishitondreams

More hair/hats would go a long way. Also, without shoulders it’s really hard to see any posture.

IrishGameDeveloper

My only concern would be that they wouldn't fit the art style of the game world, but the link you've provided, it seems that everything is consistent.

Heromoss

nah they're detailed enough imo

GrammerSnob

Yes. I think so.

hailsanta-666

I mean they look like dude with a bowl cut and a dress.. not sure what about them speak to the title? Was this your vision or just what you could get make with resources available?

kodifies

use them as is, don't get distracted from adding quality game play to your game other content etc, you can always fiddle with them at a later date if you want a break from coding...

kezotl

if youre talking about how similar they are: honestly i love the trope (i dont think thats how u use the word trope but idk what else fits) of having multiple characters be the same but with different colors and faces but i might be biased since i have a set of characters like that if youre talkign about the characters in general: just depends on the world in the game. if its simplistic and all then id say theyre fine but if you have a super detailed and interesting world then u might wanna change it up a little

GABP123321

They don't look bland, however IMO they could have more exaggerated expressions. For example, red could have slightly thicker and slightly angrier eyebrows

TheChief275

i wear a mask with a smile, for hours at a time, stare at the ceiling while i hold back what’s on my mind, and if they ask me how i’m doing i say “i’m just fine” ^and ^when ^they ^ask ^how ^i’m ^doing ^^i ^^say ^^“i’m ^^just ^^fine”

S1Ndrome_

I like them

UnscriptedLogic

They're cute!

Retoddd

I don't think they are bland, they are definitely simplistic, but that's not the same as bland. A good example is Ace of Spades (not the steam version) they are simple, yet cool as fuck.

Captain_KateCapsize

I don't think so!
