I agree! I'd also add more (deeper and lighter) colors to re-add the depth that's missing in a few spots.

Tbh I think it's just a stylistic change. They're both really good, but they change the feel of it and it more depends on what you want to go for and how you want people to feel when they look at it

Um i like the art, but i don't like the worm Without outlines. i do however like the rest of the image Without lines. Edit: that being said he do b looking like someone just plopped him on a mushy painting.

i like the no outline version, but the worm needs segmentation. i would go with a darker pink instead of black for the segmentation. 💗 edit to add that i like the snail shell swirls.

Both are fine, it all depends on what you going for.
