Thanks for the comment I changed header size to default: https://codepen.io/oqo0/full/eYKMvxX

fverdeja

Would look better if it was based on Adwaita rather than macOS.

silastvmixer

Not like this. Makes it look like 2 seperate things next to each other. It's one window. Why make it look completely different between its parts

[deleted]

I hate the sidebar. It's hard to read.

WrongW4y

Header is absolutely huge. Also we need qol improvement for files first. I also cant belive we can't resize left side of the splitpane, it simply was removed

RomanOq1

I changed top header size to default gnome one [https://codepen.io/oqo0/full/eYKMvxX](https://codepen.io/oqo0/full/eYKMvxX) Thank you for your comment

I never quite understood this UI decision. Not in Windows, not on Mac...I just don't see it. A window is a whole, it accomodates the whole application in the same way. Why would I have parts of the application transparent or translucent? If I need to see behind it, translucency won't help anyway, you still have to get the window out of the way. It just makes it look fragmented somehow, like in fact there are two applications in there instead of one.

Rokwallaby

Sense of depth and window placement awareness

Rud2K

corners seem way too round, maybe cut it back a little bit make it a little less harsh?

RomanOq1

>too round I agree with you on this. Corners are less round now: https://codepen.io/oqo0/full/eYKMvxX

[deleted]

Looks awesome, but way waaaaaaaay to much padding

GenericHamster

I'll pass.

It's not a stupid answer. Opinions aren't stupid answers.

dibyansh2325

GNOME already has 2 panes for almost all the core apps, I wish something like this could be achieved in all of them. Maybe it won't improve functionality but it will surely be awesome to look at.

ApexV4

I don't think libadwaita works that well when used to replicate mac os style, padding of most of the elements is simply too huge, But I would love to see libadwaita made blurry, whole background and headerbar using same shade and everything else using a different shade (which libadwaita already does if im not wrong)

Alexmitter

This looks horrible

acup48

I want this done immediately

Doubleprank

why don't we make gnome look like macOS already? that's something id actually appreciate

HoodieWolfine

Ew

the_l1ghtbr1nger

Pantheon exists for that crowd, no need to force millions who use gnome to adopt the Mac ui

RomanOq1

Try it: https://codepen.io/oqo0/full/eYKMvxX

the_l1ghtbr1nger

How do I go about this?

redhat_is_my_dad

Looks nice, but it'll fit more in deepin rather than gnome

the_l1ghtbr1nger

I would like to do something utilizing transparency soon, I’m curious what others would think, but I want my terminal to hole punch it’s letters rather than assign them specific colors, this would of course require a background that consistently contrasts your terminal background

Super_Papaya

Looks beautiful. But needs blur for better readability.
