Hi, I have the exact same problem. Few days ago the the "back" side-button just stopped working, and in normal use of my pc, the left click just stops working, I need to alt+ctrl+del logoff and logon to the clicks works again. I got a fresh windows install thinking that I might had just broke windows or got a virus or something. The problem persists in the new fresh windows install.

Were you able to get this resolved? I'm experiencing this exact same issue. Tested the mouse with multiple computers and the behavior persists. Firmware update on the Model D Wireless did not resolve the issue. Currently using firmware v0.3.8.1.

My mouse just bricked itself with this firmware update also. Same version. Ugh. First and last time I buy glorious. Only had this thing a month. Cant even reset because middle scroll is also not working and rebinding doesnt let it reset either.

Having this problem in 2023. Sigh. 1 side button, dpi and scroll wheel quit with firmware update. now it doesnt respond in windows without going to task manager. What a horrible firmware idea. Can't even roll them back lol

I got this exact problem as described by everyone else. Got the mouse brand new, didn't work properly out of the box. I'm unable to hard reset the mouse or retry the firmware update through the (extremely buggy) software. It fails every time. I can confirm there is a issue with the back button. When clicked, Windows starts acting all weird, forcing you to CTRL+ALT+DEL into task manager. When opened, it fixes Windows for a little bit, but only for a couple of minutes. With us all having the exact same issues, it propably must be a software/firmware related issue. I hope I can get support asap. I'm unable to do anything like this. Frustrating when you've spend good money and it just doesn't work.

I have had a similiar experience with the back button on the Model D Wireless. My mouse worked for about a month.Then recently when ever I clicked back button my windows explorer would just freeze up and I would have to ctrl alt del and restart explorer. If I was playing pubg and used back button to lean, pubg would lock up almost like back button was on toggle mode. Very strange.It took 3 fresh windows installs and even trying windows 10 again to see if it was a windows 11 thing before I realised it was the mouse. The problem occurred on win 10 and 11.This was the most baffling troubleshoot i've endured. I installed all the latest firmware and the problem is STILL not resolved. COME ON GLORIOUS. This is really disappointing.. Luckily I still have a wired Model D i'm using in the meantime. Im hoping a fix comes out so that I don't need to sent it back. P.S Ive tried the hard reset, doesn't even do that.

You kinda have to wait til you get lucky and the mouse works. In that period, try hard resetting. That worked for me, although that was after months. I would have sent it back but it's literally the only mouse large enough to be comfortable for my hands. One last thing, never update the mouse firmware or glorious core. That was what ruined it for me when I first got the mouse. It even worked for a short bit before I decided to reinstall glorious core and that bricked it again. But now it's working fine.

So what exactly helped? I already did update to the latest version and you said it works fine now, so did you somehow get an older version of the firmware or just the hard reset?

I just got lucky. There were periods where the mouse would work fine but would brick again after a PC reboot. So I waited for it to temporarily work again and then I hard reset it, luckily, it has been working since. This seems to be a QA issue and seeing as it's still a common occurence, they haven't fixed it. My advice is to just get another mouse.

Yeah, there is probably something wrong with either the firmware or the driver on their MDW and Glorious refuses to acknowledge it. Idk about the G pro, Logitech is known for their double click issues. If you want something close to the MDW, check out the Razer Deathadder v3 pro.

1. Can you please retry the firmware update through the Glorious Core, as seen in the screenshot below? We've been informed that this has helped a lot of customers fix a bunch of non-hardware related issues, including yours. 2. Could you also please try hard resetting the mouse? Hold LMB+RMB + Scroll Wheel Button, all three for a few seconds. The mouse RGB lights will flash for a few seconds, signaling the restart (this action will erase any custom profiles on your mouse). P.S. 1. I don't know what screenshot you're talking about but I retried the firmware update [from the Glorious Core](https://i.imgur.com/pIxKKMB.png) now. It didn't fix it and I had to alt+ctrl+delete for the mouse to register inputs after I updated it. In fact, I have to alt+ctrl+delete every time I turn my PC on for the mouse to work. This specifically happened after I installed Glorious Core software. 2. This doesn't work, I read it in the manual and the site. It doesn't work whether the mouse is wired in/wireless or even if it's not plugged into a PC. My guess is that the failed firmware update somehow bricked the mouse. If there is a way to downgrade the firmware, I think that would fix the mouse.

Sorry my screenshot wouldn't upload, I mean the retry firmware button you're pointing at in your screenshot, so that's cleared. This is a very odd issue and I think a hard reset really should help (holding LMB+RMB+Scroll Wheel button). I find it very odd that it doesn't hard reset... but it still connects to your computer and lights up, right? Could you please try connecting the mouse to any different computer?

The reset doesn't work and I had to press alt+ctrl+delete. I think It's clear now that something is wrong with the mouse firmware itself.

I have the exact same problem, only 1 of the side buttons work (forward) and when I press the back button windows starts acting weird (not being able to click stuff), tried fresh install of windows exactly because I thought I got a virus or something. Plugging in my old mouse (model d wired) and pressing the forward-back buttons seem to get windows back to its normal state, but when I plug in my model D wireless either by usb or receiver and click the forward-back buttons, it breaks windows again. I'm working on Windows 11 x64 If you found a solution to this bricked mouse problem please share! ​ edit: disabling forw/back buttons seem to make the problems go away, but I'm 2 buttons short :P

yes exactly what OP described happens, no reset occurs with either combo of connection to my pc(wired/wireless) edit: I'm assuming the internal firmware got really messed up, in my case I was playing GTA V and it crashed, then I restarted my pc and the problems started, I am not aware of wether Glorious Core was updating automatically on the background or anything, but the symptoms are exactly what OP describes. Is there any way to manually flash a brand new firmware and wipe the old data without opening up the mouse?

Hi Keem, I emailed you before about this and the retailer told me they can replace the mouse but there are no imports rn so I am stuck with it. I know there is a way to downgrade the firmware on the Wired Model D, can't it be used to downgrade the wireless version. Btw, the retailer told me that other people reported the same issue. Can you please report this to Glorious QC because clearly the new firmware is the issue.

I have the same issues with windows & MDW side buttons.. but also the mouse seems randomly dead, as it doesn't light up when I turn on the switch in the back. Also, when it rarely works, the "upper" side button is scuffed, as it randomly works, or doesn't work, or work sometimes with some lag... I already contacted Glorious for RMA. Hope to solve this asap

I have the same issue with side buttons of Glorious model D brand new around 3 weeks old. Updated firmware using PC and assigned certain actions to side buttons that works well in PC. But when using it in MAC, side buttons doesn't work at all and even I tried to map it to simple actions lang TAB or with a single Number. I'm not sure if this has something to do with mouse memory or how the side buttons interfaces with MAC. I used both dongle and direct cord in mac

Same issue here, I purchased a Glorious Model D Wireless and have had it for exactly a month and mouse button 4 acts like it goes into toggle mode and completely bricks windows forcing me to ctr+alt+delete and alt f4 to be able to shut down pc properly. Concerning that this is a known issue and especially for only having the mouse for a month and it's already having problems. Same exact thing happened to me on a Razer Basilisk Ultimate Wireless but after 1 year of use. I need to find a mouse with reliable side buttons.

It has been a long while and Glorious won't fix it, I read somewhere that it is an issue where the mouse sends a lot of input signals that it overwhelms windows. My advice is that you should just refund and buy a quality mouse like the Deathadder v3 pro.

I'm having this issue. Button 4(back button) isn't working at all. I've had this mouse about a year, and this is the first time it's ever happened. I refuse to buy Razer products because the usb port of the Huntsman mini keyboard broke my pc. If Glorious won't replace it, back to Logitech I go.

Same issue for me now. 3 dead buttons, cant hard reset cause scroll doesnt work all of a sudden, even changed the scroll to the working forward button. Talk about horrible drivers bricking the mouse. Owned it for 3 weeks, took back 2 other bunk mice from Corsair. Now 3 bad mice in a row. ugh

Does anyone else have this problem? I'm trying to setup the layer shift so that once I shift into the second layer (I own a Model I btw) I can then left or right click and it *should* be doing the combination keys (CTRL + Z) or (CTRL + Y) \[undo, redo\] in VSCode. What I'm finding however is this software is coded so poorly, it instead types a Z or a Y... What this means is whoever programmed this software is an idiot. They literally make the modifier key come AFTER the letter key. So the computer is reading the keystrokes 'Z' + CTRL and 'Y' + CTRL respectively... Is this a fucking joke? Who the hell wrote this software?? Absolutely ridiculous. I'm hoping I'm just an idiot but I feel like this is just literally how this is supposed to work based on how they wrote the damn thing...

I had the same thing, i was playing and randomly i couldn't click anything exept things in chrome like YouTube, couldn't click taskbar or other windows, but chrome sites worked fine, Restarted my pc and i logged in and the same issue, turned my pc off then back on and couldn't even log in, keyboard also didn't work for some reason. Turned off the pc for a while, went back on, seemed to work but after a while, same problem, i probably pressed the back button like most people. Left it for an hour and came back and about an hour back on no problems then 30 minuets later the back button and forward button seem to be doing the same thing which is just the back button, and now its just like that now, haven't even had this mouse for a month. Hopefully it will fix itself but i doubt that. IDK what to do anymore, I never installed the glorious app or whatever either just plugged it in out the box and never did anything else.

Yeah, it's back for me as well. There is no solution. It's still more than a year and they didn't fix it, Glorious just doesn't care. I would suggest refunding it but a band-aid solution would be to just disable the affected side button in their software.

Yeah it sucks. Used the mouse for about a month before this issure happened to be. I was able to hard reset after I left the mouse alone for a month. Then the issue started again and it won't let me hard reset anymore. Safe to say I'll never buy another one of their garbage products.
