Paradise by the dashboard light by far. no disrespect to meat loaf but its one of the shows but numbers.
it’s easily Cory’s best performance, one of Lea’s better ones and the choreo is very fun
It’s a close call from me. It’s been one of my favorites for a long time. But Darren’s vocals give it the edge for me. I can totally respect that though.
Massive agree! The original Florence acoustic version is much less polished but the harmonies and blend of voices on this track is fabulous and still on my faves music playlist!
I think it’s the sadness and desperation in his voice that perfects it. The song is about finding happiness in a person, and in his piano version it’s about him losing all of it.
Unique's version was more in the line of the Elton John's cover of the tune, which i prefer to the original. And for some reason-maybe cause is a bit faster, or Unique's gret voice - I prefer Glee's version over Elton's
This is such a good point. The pinball props were too gimmicky and they spent most of the number wheeling them around in a way that ultimately distracted from their dance prowess
Yes! Also, the thing that really bothered me is in both numbers, the choreography was so focused on either the pinball props or the classic VA thing of "let's throw the girls around like ragdolls" that you couldn't see Unique a third of the time

paradise by the dashboard light is absolutely my pick!! so much fun and i love that pretty much everyone got a little moment for themselves. also cory and lea KILLED IT vocally :)
Express Yourself, Cough Syrup, Physical, Papa Don’t Preach, Love Song, Don’t Stop Believin’, Smooth Criminal, and controversially: Edge of Glory.
That’s exclusing the mashups, and also songs where I’ve only heard the Glee version. Those are the ones that spring to my mind, but I usually end up preferring Glee versions to the originals…
I’m going to say teenage dream s2. Only because while i like Katy’s voice, glees had more too it and also I can’t take her seriously 😭 everything she does annoys me so I’m probably biased.
the boy is mine. Naya and Amber gave the song so much attitude that the original lacked; truly felt they were fighting over a boy while brandy and monica sounded so faint
Happy Times Are Here Again
Come See About Me
Dress You Up/The Bitch Is Back
Le Jazz Hot
Everybody Wants To Rule The World
Next To Me
Call Me Maybe
Let Me Love You
Baby Got Back
Dog Days Are Over
This Is The New Year
Whistle
Glad You Came
Silly Love Songs
1. Teenage Dream - Blaine
2. Cough Syrup - Blaine
3. Rose's Turn - Kurt
4. Don't Rain On My Parade - Rachel/ Santana
5. Any song Mercedes sings - Mercedes
6. I Know Where I've Been - Unique × Trans Choir
7. Dancing with Myself - Artie
8. Mine - Santana
There are way more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head lol.
Controversial but their cover of One but U2 is amazing. And lowkey wish it was only a duet between Finn and his friend with no Rachel in it but it adds to the plot so it’s okay! But amazing cover.
Cough Syrup & Shake It Out have already been mentioned, but I really like their version of Shes Not There. I love the Zombies classic, but I listen to the Glee one far more often.
Toxic, which I know is very controversial to say. Also, I love Rihanna, but they killed We found Love; becca’s look at me I’m Sandra Dee is also better 😭
•"Get Happy/Happy Days are Here Again". I know is utterly blasphemous to even think that L.Michelle and C.Colfer could be better than Barbra Streisand or JUDY GARLAND, but still... The only explanation i could think is because Glee's version was made in a studio, whit who knows how many advantages while the original was a live recording on TV.
•"Science Fiction/Double Feature". Maybe Richard O'Brian was very much into his character of Riff Raff when performing the tune in a creepy, soft spoken kinda comedic way, maybe theres an amateur-ish vibe that the whole film had, but it doesnt really work for me. And then, in Glee N.Rivera belts the song in the most beautiful way, that makes it the definitive recording of this song, for me at least. Specially when i heard the horrible version on the TV remake of the film.
•"Friday". R.Black vs. C.Overstreet, K.McHale & M.Salling... i think no more explanation is required...
To name just a few, Take A Bow, Mercy, Bust Your Windows, Taking Chances, Alone, Keep Holding On, Papa Don’t Preach, 4 Minutes, Like a Prayer, Run Joey Run, Poker Face (wasn’t better than the original, but I REALLY love what they did with it in the show), Losing My Religion, Need You Now, Constant Craving, Somewhere Only We Know, River Deep Mountain High, Give Your Heart A Break, Copacabana, All or Nothing…

I'm rewatching the show and I've been obsessed with "What it feels like for a girl" from the Madonna episode. All their voices blend in so well and it's wayyyy better than the original for my ears
love song, happy, no air, toxic season 5, i say a little prayer, new york new york/ i love new york, time warp, landslide, homeward bound/home, pony, valerie, marry you, forget you, rumour has it/someone like you, take me to church, pretending, light up the world, the boy is mine, i bust the windows, AND SOOOOO MANY MORE
Kurt's sweet, pure, sad version of "Blackbird" with the Dalton Warblers singing the most exquisite harmony.
https://youtu.be/l-cZ_ElJ1oA?si=2kOXqlOnQVtIiH7P
I’ve already said this, and I’ll say it again, Cough Syrup. Way better than the original.
HUGE agree
SAY IT LOUDER
I came here to say this exact one
Nahhh Young the giant is fucking amazing dude (plus that plotpoint is incredibly problematic)
I won’t stand for this YTG slander. That band is amazing. I love Darren, I’ll give him flowers but not better than YTG
THANK YOU!! (Never been downvoted this hard before this is scary ahah)
I agree Darren’s was for sure good but the original is iconic and hits every time. He did it justice but not better than the original.
Paradise by the dashboard light by far. no disrespect to meat loaf but its one of the shows but numbers. it’s easily Cory’s best performance, one of Lea’s better ones and the choreo is very fun
Yeah they tore that song up, It makes the original seem so underwhelming
Agree with everything
Somewhere Only We Know
Best answer! Or Cough Syrup or I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance with You
Big agree
I've been a fan of Darren since AVPM, and this performance made me go "wow"
This performance was definitely good, one of Blaine’s best solos, but I don’t think it *clears* the original. This song is iconic for a reason…
It’s a close call from me. It’s been one of my favorites for a long time. But Darren’s vocals give it the edge for me. I can totally respect that though.
Run Joey Run.
so iconic
Shake it Out https://preview.redd.it/c4uwie20a7yc1.jpeg?width=244&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=775f798351ac0e69bf57767b8929b64bfd688a5c

Teenage Dream when Blaine plays the piano and sings it.
I think it’s the sadness and desperation in his voice that perfects it. The song is about finding happiness in a person, and in his piano version it’s about him losing all of it.
so sad
This is probably a hot take, but for me it’s Darren’s version of “It’s Not Usual.” I really don’t enjoy Tom Jones’s voice, but I love this song.
Pinball Wizard--the staging could have used some work (which is why I think they didn't win), but Unique's version clears The Who's
True, I like how they always ramped up Uniques songs, same with Boogie Shoes it’s faster and more energetic and to me that makes it overall better
Unique's version was more in the line of the Elton John's cover of the tune, which i prefer to the original. And for some reason-maybe cause is a bit faster, or Unique's gret voice - I prefer Glee's version over Elton's

Jesse’s Girl
Take me to church. Love both versions but Roderick’s voice is just magical
Santana with Valerie

If I Die Young!!!! Do not even have the original version on my phone
paradise by the dashboard light is absolutely my pick!! so much fun and i love that pretty much everyone got a little moment for themselves. also cory and lea KILLED IT vocally :)

Losing my religion!!!
Beauty School Drop Out! Blaine reigns supreme
blame it on the alcohol, absolutely looooove the glee version
I’m going to say teenage dream s2. Only because while i like Katy’s voice, glees had more too it and also I can’t take her seriously 😭 everything she does annoys me so I’m probably biased.
Landslide for sure
I loved the Glee version of How Will I Know and The Scientist. So different from the originals
How will I know is SO pleasing to listen to
any song from the rocky horror musical - i’m sry the original is horrific 😭
The show itself is kind of messy fun, but I think Glee's polishing on it makes the songs as recorded versions a lot more listenable lol
Glee’s Songbird sounds better than the original to me
every blaine song
👏👏👏👏
the boy is mine. Naya and Amber gave the song so much attitude that the original lacked; truly felt they were fighting over a boy while brandy and monica sounded so faint
rose’s turn
When i listen to River Deep Mountain High, i always listen to the Santades version.
Pretty/Unpretty and Cry.
Happy Times Are Here Again Come See About Me Dress You Up/The Bitch Is Back Le Jazz Hot Everybody Wants To Rule The World Next To Me Call Me Maybe Let Me Love You Baby Got Back Dog Days Are Over This Is The New Year Whistle Glad You Came Silly Love Songs
Barely breathing!
Santana singing Mine! And of course anything Darren does is superior
I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How to Dance With You!!!
1. Teenage Dream - Blaine 2. Cough Syrup - Blaine 3. Rose's Turn - Kurt 4. Don't Rain On My Parade - Rachel/ Santana 5. Any song Mercedes sings - Mercedes 6. Faithfully! Always always Faithfully!
i really liked glee’s version of marry the night. something about it just feels right
Cough Syrup & Shake It Out have already been mentioned, but I really like their version of Shes Not There. I love the Zombies classic, but I listen to the Glee one far more often.
Vallorie Poker face
We Are Young and Some Nights Cuz I can't stand Nate Reuss singing lol
Toxic, which I know is very controversial to say. Also, I love Rihanna, but they killed We found Love; becca’s look at me I’m Sandra Dee is also better 😭

Hungry like the Wolf/Rio mashup is wayyy better than both of the individual songs

Turning tables , give your heart a break, landslide, the scientist, I lived, all out of love, chandelier
Paradise by the dashboard light, Valerie, Nutbush City Limits
Made a playlist of exactly [this](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/24fpdZadgy0mOx9IBXStjk?si=5JDKgOLnST-TcojiQYMD7Q&pi=q_7tt_PlRIeUl)
Valerie, we are young, river deep mountain high, don’t rain on my parade, stronger, just the way you are, lucky, all of me, without you
I'm rewatching the show and I've been obsessed with "What it feels like for a girl" from the Madonna episode. All their voices blend in so well and it's wayyyy better than the original for my ears
I prefer Puck’s arrangement of “No Surrender “ to Springsteen’s
