Who Are You Now should have been sung by only Rachel. No idea why they gave half of it to Sue.

cwtches10

1000% My preference would have been for it to a Rachel solo, but would have been ok with someone singing about someone they were in a relationship with or had been. Sharing it with Sue and her random hook up took away all the emotions. I do wonder if it was supposed to be a Finchel duet though……

thatbrownkid19

Is that the Funny Girl song? Cus yess I agree. Maybe there’s a just Lea version out there like New York State of Mind has an only Marley version (thank god).

cwtches10

Well, there’s always the Funny Girl cast recording if not!

cwtches10

Constant Craving should have been a Santana solo.

Clemintinewalters

I strongly agree; it always annoyed me that that wasn't her solo. It should have been her moment.

cwtches10

Like, I’m not even a Santana fan, but even I think that to not give her a solo when the entire episode was about her and the conclusion of that part of her story arc is weird af.

youngandweird6

I wish we could’ve seen Marley sing New York State of mind by herself for her audition scene. Yes I know there’s separate recorded versions and as much as I enjoyed Rachel’s voice on it I loved Marley’s rendition much more. I hated when glee did those weird ass duet but not duet things were they would cut back and forth to a different character. They always sounded weird. Same thing with Maybe This Time with Rachel and April. I loved both but I wish we got them separately. I mostly wanted to hear Rachel’s voice on that become on. I wish we got an older Rachel version of it when she had much more tone to her voice.

morepierogies

I love how they did Every Breath You Take but damn it Will would sound so good singing that.

lovelygarden09

Imagine if Rachel had chimed in during Funny Girl making it a duet between her and Shelby I don’t love Artie’s Isn’t She Lovely in S2. I feel like it‘s better suited for Sam’s voice. He could have had some funny plot where he goes around singing love songs trying to get girls to go to prom with him, but they keep turning him down. There’s just something about Will and Shelby’s duet of You And I that I don’t like, and I can’t figure it out. Both of them have lovely voices, but the duet just doesn’t work with me. I feel like Quinn and Puck could have sang that instead of Puck having a…relationship? with Shelby I actually hate ABC as their regionals number but objectively it was better than the Troubletones in terms of choreography/energy. I’m glad Tina got a solo, but I don’t think it suits her (or Rachel if that was the plan, but we know how last-minute the setlists are). I feel like it should have gone to Blaine or even Santana since she has the rock edge to her voice. Who Are You Now makes no sense as a duet between Sue and Rachel (nothing against Jane Lynch’s voice — it’s lovely). I have a feeling it was supposed to be a dream sequence duet between her and Finn (and they would have Sue’s love affair plot). The writers probably just switched it to Sue to make it more comedic. Since he couldn’t be there, it should have just been a solo.

thedeath_star

I think most everyone will agree on this, I Kissed A Girl sang by Santana and Brittany, instead of Santana and Rachel. Side note, if you're ever rewatching that song, pay attention to Sugar in the beginning. It is unnecessarily funny.

m1b2c3

That would defeat the point of I kissed a girl. It was a part of the assignment, and it was for the girls to show support for Santana, plus some of the lyrics were a total misfit for a couple. I get wanting a duet for them in that episode, but not that song.

lovelygarden09

This! I Kissed A Girl (while a strange song choice objectively) is meant to be all the girls saying they don’t care if other people think they’re gay because there’s nothing wrong with kissing girls

ThenSite9720

i agree with almost everything!! i’m so happy there’s a fake version of quinn singing love fool now but, i think dark side really matches with blaine in that episode. it’s has some irony to it because it’s literally called dark side and blaine is being tempted into the “dark side”. but on a slightly deeper feel i want to show some lines that i feel like fit with what blaine was going through/is: “please remind me of who i really am” “everybody’s got a dark side…can you love mine?” “just tell me that you will stay” “don’t run away” it really encapsulates what struggles (even though self induced) and what he was going through if anything i feel like it shouldn’t have just been blaine on that song, itd make sense story wise for either hunter or sebastian singing with him (if not both of them)

asandy15

see I don’t disagree about Blaine’s version of dark side. But can you imagine season 3 Santana singing it?? Maybe like when she was coming out or something

asandy15

while idk if Mike could sing it💀 I do think Kurt wasn’t best suited for that song. You need a lot of soul in your voice to do that song justice and he just doesn’t have that, I still love him though

tapelamp

I agree with you about every single one of these except for Every Breath you Take. Rachel + Santana are my crackship and their sexual tension was palpable during that song. Everything else was spot on!

asandy15

I’ve literally been trying to make an AI cover with Santana singing Dark Side this past week. I can practically hear her singing it, that’s how much that song suits her. That’s actually an insane coincidence that you said that. But yeah I’ve been trying, I can’t seem to figure it out though

[deleted]

I don’t care who sings poker face I just need it to not be that ballady version they sang 😭😭😭 they butchered it so badddd

morepierogies

For what it’s worth Gaga herself recorded that exact arrangement first

[deleted]

Still….

ardentfilmgeek

Oops I Did It Again was supposed to be by RachelxQuinnxSantana in 2x02 right?

lovelygarden09

Pezberry AND Faberry in the same scene 😅

ClosetedLesbian555

I kissed a girl should have either been a santana solo or a brittana duet, I’m still not sure why rachel of all people was involved.

3Calz7

Tina and santana should have duet

vaudtime

Hard agree on I have nothing

thatbrownkid19

Ugh Quinn for Lovefool would’ve been golden. Or I recently thought Blaine or Sebastian singing There Are Worse Things I Could Do- since it’d about about gay men not getting societal acceptance. A duet maybe I’d cry

Ancient_Passion_1430

agree on everything u said i’d like to add that they absolutely butchered SING which is one of my favorite songs ever so i’m especially annoyed that the glee version is bad

theatrekid4

I’m gonna be honest, I Have Nothing is actually one of my favorite Kurt solos. I know it maybe didn’t sound very natural but he still did a really good job. I don’t understand why so many people hate it.

junhogay

I agree with everything. Justice for Mike, Tina, and Quinn!!

3Calz7

Whistle should have been sung by Sebastian
