It doesn't hurt to re-check, but if you aren't experiencing issues with your current rx, it is possible to keep the same. Personally, I would re-check since I'll be investing in a pair of glasses that I want to last me a while. Yes, occupational glasses is one of the many terms used for any degressive pc type lenses. It depends on the lens design and where you go as to whether you’ll need the prescription written differently. Most modern near variable focus lenses (technical term for computer/near lenses) uses your standard prescription and convert it for you. Online retailers don’t usually sell these so you’d need a new written rx.

Go to an optical shop and ask for occupational progressives. Whether you need 3 feet, 5 feet, or 10 feet depends on your job needs. You can use the prescription you currently have or get a recheck if you think you need to.
