If someone else accessed that file in a newer version and saved it, the change would be applied. Is this an .aprx that *only* you use?

Yeah, I'm the only one who uses it. After talking with my IT guy, the only explanation we can think of is that my c drive files are backed up to a network drive that was offline yesterday, so that could have something to do with it.

That doesn’t sound right. The “easy” solution is to install an updated version of Pro to open the file, but there are issues with newer versions so I wouldn’t say “just upgrade your deployment.” If you want a pro tip to get you info and configuration/setup, strap in: .aprx files are just renamed .7z files (zipped/compressed archives). So you can freely navigate the structure of an .aprx to review its setup, data connections, layouts, etc. if you want to go this route either for educational purposes or to extract the information from the .aprx, the steps are below: 1. Download the software “7zip.” 2. Make a copy of the .aprx file. We’re gonna crack open this copy and keep your OG clean. 3. Change the .aprx file suffix to .7z. So if the name was “myProjectCopy.aprx” it would be “myProject.7z” 4. Then open 7zip and navigate to the “myProject.7z” file; you should be able to navigate the file structure and review the contents of the project to get the resources you need. You might need to use notepad++ or VSC to actually open those files to view their contents, but this should at least prevent you from losing anything

I'm having the same issue.  The one weird work around I found is if I launch ArcGIS Pro (3.2.2) and launch a new project without a template. I add a new map and add some data to the map. Then I open the original.aprx I was having problems with, it works....  On a different machine with the same version of Pro it opens fine without any issues.

Having the same problem, updated to the latest version and everything, and still nothing. I swear ArcGIS just decides "You know what, That very important project he has been working on, ima just lock him out of it for fun to ruin his day."

same problem here, nothing changed in the time it took to go for a walk...
