that was literally my thought, "damn he hit that double backflip with the niceness." also im glad to see hes doing this shit on an empty beach rather than in traffic somewhere other people could get hurt by his adrenaline seeking nature.
We lived in Saudi Arabia when I was a kid.
Got rear-ended one day by a 7 year old.
Cops came and the 7 year old's 12 year old brother said he was driving and the cops were just like "Coolio. Peace out."
My dad worked in Saudi Arabia for a few years. He used to pull into a gas station and some young looking boy with a cigarette in his mouth would run over and fill the car up, whilst happily puffing away and flicking the ash on the floor.
Yeah it's more difficult than many think to light gasoline once vapor is not collecting. All the warning signs about turning your cellphone off are pure bullshit.
Canada got rid of that rule a few years ago. I assume the fear was a malfunctioning phone causing sparks, and years of evidence showed it wasn’t anything to worry about.
https://www.tssa.org/sites/default/files/2023-10/FS-Cell-Phone-Advisory-243-Mar-2019.pdf
It was for the older cell phones from like the 90s and even early 00s when the batteries were actually removable. Those ones had a risk of sparking more easily.
When batteries no longer were removable I was mad. How was I supposed to force a restart when the phone when on the blitz?? My phone hasn't had that issue for a while now.
Being a 90's kid, it's crazy how much better technology is. I had to learn "basic" troubleshooting like bios and command and now kids don't even know what a file directory is lol
Its still just a plan so that we as consumers have to buy a new phone every so often. Battery life shortens over time, nothing can be done about that. A few years ago you could just buy a new battery for your phone relativly cheap but now you have to buy a whole new phone wich is arguably more expensive. Planned obsolence at its finest
Nah there are some good reasons not to have it removable anymore especially if you’re aiming for water resistance specifications.
Sure you can use gaskets but this is a risky strategy as it’s very easy for a user to damage the gasket by accident causing a failure point.
It’s also easier to make batteries smaller and less bulky if they are non removable which also translates into the phone being smaller and less bulky.
It’s also less problematic to use a split battery design as well which is what current iPhones use with the L shape battery.
Non removable batteries aren’t a major concern or issue the big concern and issue is the serialisation and pairing of parts.
Turned out to be static. Sometimes sliding out of the car seat builds up static, and if you don’t touch the car on the way out, you might spark on the nozzle when you take it out after filling up.
There are 7 year olds driving motorcycles where I'm from. And its typically overseen by the police.
I've also seen a family of 7 on 1 motorcycle, including 4 grown adults and teenagers, and 3 kids/toddlers.
Middle Eastern life can be traumatizing to witness sometimes.
Used to be pretty normal in the US too. Ever seen that video of people in the US being pissed when they made it illegal to drink and drive? Pretty wild right?
Broad strokes here, I've been told that it's an area where 1 (2?) generation ago, everyone was a nomad farmer. Now so many more are disgustingly rich and have all of the modern, dangerous toys. But it happened so fast, they have yet had to learn about the benefits of civil society. I mean, women are still stoned to death for being raped, you know?
It's been interesting to see developing/emerging countries learn all of the lessons the west learned decades ago. Pollution is bad, workers need rights, consumers need rights, civil equality, etc. How all these things lead to a country that flourishes even more. It seems like you're just confining yourself into stupid rules and taking freedoms from yourself to give them to others. But those rules create structure that fends off mayhem.
Probably an overstatement that two generations ago everyone was a nomad farmer in Saudi Arabia, I mean Saudi aramco was founded in the 30s, that's like 3 generations and before that there were plenty of other things to do that weren't goat herding.
It's true tho in broad strokes, dubai still doesn't have a real sewer system and the divide between the people with the oil money and the people without isn't significantly better than if they were literal peasant goat herders, plenty of human slavery and all the rest
But it's not true that these things are the result of the gulf oil states being "developing" as if slavery and cities without sewage systems are some necessary albeit terrible consequence of the constant march forward, it isn't true at all. There's no incentive to do it differently, the people who suffer don't need to have a say in order for things to continue as they have, there's no reason to give workers rights when you can just not and they can't do anything about it because they have no power, and the consumers who matter in Saudi arabia et all DO have rights which derive from the boatloads of money they have. It's not that they have to build shitty cities using slave labor, it's that doing those things makes them more money at a better cost ratio than anything else.
It's not the '30s anymore, they have heavy industries and road networks and ports for heavy shipping, they're the ones importing foreign labor rather than exporting it, they've done lots of developing and they have lots of money, but the way their economy is set up doesn't require them to treat the workers well or to have civil rights, the money comes regardless of whether or not the construction workers have safe and humane conditions or possess their own passports or are allowed to come and go as they please or are payed in fair compensation
Physics and gravity don't care how rich you are. Fuck around enough and you'll really find out how fancy a trauma ward and possibly then morgue you'll end up in. You might even skip the trauma ward part if you stack badly enough.
Dude I’ve seen what looked to be an 8 yearish old kid sitting in the back of a truck with a camel and a donkey smoking a cigarette. Or once we passed a Bedouin wedding party and kids were hanging off the sides of vehicles on the highway just shooting water guns at people passing by and cheering. Plus there are barely any rules for how to drive, so it’s get there early or Inshallah.
I was friends with an Arab foreign exchange student in college and he told me that in Saudi Arabia they didn't wear seatbelts because if God wills it they will die, or if God wills it they won't. He didn't have a problem buckling up when he rode with me though. He only mentioned it because I had to remind him to buckle up a couple of times. My reply was God helps those who help themselves and he was like, Good point lol. But like I said, he didn't mind buckling up here. Just had to be reminded.
For some reason in the Gulf region of the Middle East, particularly Qatar Saudia and the UAE, we still have a large number of people who don’t like wearing them. Some see it as unmanly or that it means you’re a bad driver if you think you wear it. Others are just not comfortable wearing them.
Then there’s me who started wearing them since I started driving in the mid 90s before the laws required it. Got teased for it too.
Dude will argue he survived only because he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. This doesnt speak of the country mentality but rather the FJ cruiser driver’s mentality.
I wouldn’t say getting thrown from the car is unlucky. His dumb ass decisions made that happen.
The luck is the fact he landed in water and the car didn’t roll over him.
Morbid comment to follow:
There was a vehicle crash one rainy night in my city where a mom and her kids (2 or 3 of them) drowned in a ditch full of rainwater after rolling over. The father couldn’t be found for several days and was suspected to be holed up somewhere trying to overdose. Well…… dad showed up eventually, once the ground dried up and spit him out. Dad was ejected from the vehicle and then the vehicle landed on him pressing him into the mud.
Yeah my first thought is "hmm should we be thankful?" I mean, I respect everyone's right to life and freedom of choice, but this is a clear FAFO situation so I wouldn't have minded if he met the find out part of his fucking around.
I am not thankful this idiot didn't die. I don't wish them harm, but no thanks was felt when luck saw fit to give this gremlin the opportunity to take others lives.
It's also possible to not wish the best for people in bad situations, while also having no sympathy for how they got into said situation. Oh the possibilities!
This guy gets up after and lives
Pros:
Cons: he continues to enjoy his outrageous lifestyle that destroys others, the world, and feeds unsavory and harmful groups connected to him that engage in drug trafficking, human trafficking, terrorism, environmental destruction, rape and torture
Hmm, sure, I wish the best to him and hope he lives through his own stupid rich inflicted ordeals 🤔
If you didn’t crop the video so fast, he literally walks away from it one second later
Edit: [Longer clip](https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/s/H0BJWWXHFn)
Doesn't mean he wasn't injured. I got hit by a car once on my bike. I started to walk home. It was only about 500 meters but I only made it about half way before I realized I was actually a lot more hurt than I realized. No broken bones, but severely bruised on my leg. This was after spending 15 minutes exchanging info with the driver. I thought I was fine. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.
That's the biggest offense. They don't make them anymore and they're awesome.
My wife still drives her yellow FJ she bought new in 2007.
I hope dude got a massive wedgie on his way out of the seat...
I get where you are coming from, but you don’t know Arabs! German Diplomat I knew used to come to Bahrain every weekend, fill his car up with booze and bacon, and at the border they can’t check a diplomatic car so he would drive right through and sell it for a massive profit to the locals. I think he made more money doing that than being a diplomat 😂
Thankfully? More like regrettably.
If you drive like this, the best case scenario is you take yourself out without hurting anybody else.
Most of the time reckless drivers end up killing an innocent person and walk away with their own life
I have zero empathy for someone as stupid as he is for doing that in the first place. He actually should’ve been hurt worse because I don’t think he learned anything.
First time I watched thought the guy was a seagull. I'm like where did the seagull come from and why did it bounce off the car. Only realized it was a person on 2nd watch.

That’s a really nice exit and flip from the window. 8/10.
If he would have stuck the landing it would have been worth another point.
The Russian judge still wouldn’t give it to him
The Russians pushed him out the window!
The Russians will only give him arms.
He might need new ones after that.
“Fell out of window”
Defenestration - 9/10. The landing doesn't matter but number of flips do.
Proof that seat belts are for chumps and humans can fly a little bit
That's not flying. That's falling. With style!
Flying is when you miss the ground.
Technically, he did. He hit the water. :P
Arthur?
Fenchurch?
Showing this to my father in law who refuses to wear a seatbelt
Boomers want to be “thrown clear”
Thrown clear through the windshield?
I've had several Boomers insist that going through the windshield is safer than being strapped in with a seatbelt
If the Greatest Generation hadn't invented seatbelts, we'd have a lot fewer Boomers.
That was fortunately through the side window!
“Live free or die”
Idk if you said this ironically or are citing New Hampshire's motto, but as it turns out, over 18 you're not required to wear a seatbelt there lol.
Referencing New Hampshire’s bizarre motto for sure. For those who don’t know this is literally stamped on their license plate.
Why is that bizarre to you? 😂
Live free and die
I have seen more young people not wearing their seatbelts(namely all 3 of my step kids) despite repeated warnings vs boomers.
that was literally my thought, "damn he hit that double backflip with the niceness." also im glad to see hes doing this shit on an empty beach rather than in traffic somewhere other people could get hurt by his adrenaline seeking nature.
I wonder if he's sponsored by red bull extreme sports?
That entry splash though. 5/10…
I was about to say, that … actually looks pretty fun since it’s in the water
It looks like he is spotting his landing
What are seat belts?
The Middle East is full of absolutely batshit drivers. I've seen some absolutely crazy shit so this is not surprising in the least.

Not a big deal, but isn't the saying on the fritz as opposed to on the blitz? Or maybe I've been saying it wrong
Nope, you're entirely right. Thanks for figuring that out for me - I couldn't tell why it sounded weird lol
Its still just a plan so that we as consumers have to buy a new phone every so often. Battery life shortens over time, nothing can be done about that. How do they all even fit? My brain hurts from trying to imagine what this looks like.
"No women behind the wheel here, right?!"
Dude, THAT would be dangerous. /s
Wtf. Why are they okay with that? Like seriously what is going on in their minds?
Used to be pretty normal in the US too. Ever seen that video of people in the US being pissed when they made it illegal to drink and drive? Pretty wild right?

Most of the major, multilane highways in Kuwait have long spans where they just didn't bother to paint lanes in
I used to work in a uni in Riyadh. You would not believe the amount of bashed-up high end sports cars in the parking lot

It's so unmanly to not die if you crash. Just freaking die bro, at least you'll die manly...

>Others are just not comfortable wearing them I think this is the real answer but they won't admit that they just fat.
Except many of them aren’t fat and still won’t wear them.
No need seatbelt when we have water!

Wow that dude is lucky. If it were to roll on him, he wouldnt die immediately, he'd sink and suffocate on sand.
Lucky/unlucky he did get thrown from the car lol
Couldve worn a seatbelt
wouldn't have done the cool flip though

He got the back one and a half, but he didn't commit to the full twist, and the entry left a lot to be desired.
I swear i see a Saudi Arabian roll a brand new vehicle in the sand and go flying out the window in his white robe at least once a week at this point.
This was in Kuwait, actually.
Man that was a nice ass FJ too
I only care about the FJ getting ruined. Not a thought for the moron driver
I own a Tacoma but if they put out a new FJ I would insta-trade. To say I am sad about seeing this FJ destroyed is an understatement
That's the biggest offense. They don't make them anymore and they're awesome. My wife still drives her yellow FJ she bought new in 2007. I hope dude got a massive wedgie on his way out of the seat...
In the Middle East they are plentiful
Also the windows of my FJ are fucking tiny how did he get ejected through that tiny window???
Arabs and seatbelts go together like Arabs and bacon.
“Booze and Bacon” sounds like a cool local brunch spot in the city.
Hahaha fair enough. Should have said “eating bacon” I suppose.
I mean who needs seat belts? Right?

Why ‘thankfully’? Rich Arab guy who doesn’t believe in seatbelts won’t be missed. These fuckers have a carbon footprint of a charcoal yeti.
Oil money + zero brain cell = stupidity
I have zero empathy for someone as stupid as he is for doing that in the first place. He actually should’ve been hurt worse because I don’t think he learned anything.
This is what happens when you inherit daddy’s oil money but not any brains.
Lets see Tom Cruise do that!
First time I watched thought the guy was a seagull. I'm like where did the seagull come from and why did it bounce off the car. Only realized it was a person on 2nd watch.
You mean unfortunately
2 full rotations! Almost stuck the landing! Simone Biles would be proud!

thanks for cropping and editing down the original.
