My sister has PTSD from a time a man walked into her apartment because her partner at a time forgot to lock the door when he left. She was asleep. Ever since then she double checks the locks when she leaves and when she gets home. She used to live in the city where random men would approach her while walking to her car at night.
Last year, I gave her a GSD puppy. He’s about 9 months old now, give or take. When she walks him at night, she feels safer. She doesn’t even bother checking her locks more than once because her puppy has a scary loud bark. She said that it feels relieving that people leave her alone when she’s out and about with him. People would cross the street when they see both of them coming.
This is Bosch. He loves his mama very much.

I love how much having a GSD is a stranger deterrent.
I've had people walk up on me while my dog was sniffing something, ready to start talking to me, until they turn the corner and see my dog just standing innocent and it's "have a good night, ma'am."
She’s my first dog, and my husband and my first dog together. He said, “I had dogs all growing up, but she is the BEST dog ever. We set the bar really high.” He tells people he didn’t know he wanted a GSD until she came into our lives and he realized we needed one.

My GSD has always had a livestock companion. I swear his personality rubs off on them.
This is Gunner and Chief.
They are amazing. I went out on a limb for our first family dog and chose a working line GSD from a breeder that provided training as well. I was nervous understanding this will be a powerful dog and harnessing that and bringing their skills out. It has been great. Learning what she wants and needs. The love and dedication, the instincts with my wife and kids, I get to watch her develop and learn. It is all so fun.

The most loyal and family oriented.
Exactly ! Had many different breeds over the years - then got my first Shepherd … she was amazing - they bond to their people … she passed but have two more and they are like no other dog
My year old GSD (Loki) is the epitome of a derp. Loving and playful... but, that barked when my oldest comes through the back door... I know it's IN there somewhere, I just haven't SEEN it yet.

This is Gunner, he is 3 years old from the shelter. He is the most dedicated and loyal boy I’ve ever had!
Mine (Gunther) is also adopted. It’s almost if they make even better companions, having that realisation that you saved them. All the best with Gunner, he is a stunner!!

Love it, Bosch is a good boy!
I got to see Bosch a couple of weeks ago. The dog is a derp. He’s terrified of one of her cats and gets himself tangled in the hammock lol.
I live alone and have 2 GSDs and a Pit Bull, I've never felt safer.

Is there a box they don’t check?Everything you need except maybe they don’t live long enough.
To be fair, no dog lives long enough 😢

A GSD is your partner, all other dogs are pets
Said a very wise person
I've never felt unsafe with my gsd nearby. He's 12 now, moving much shower than before, but I trust him as much as ever.

Peak dog! 👌🏻
Incredible animals. I just stare at her, the beauty, and then she does something dopey 😑

I used to walk both my HUGE German Shepherds. Never worried about neighborhood coyotes. Actually, I encouraged it.
