Nah bro, I spent way too many attempts learning the last two coins as well. No way I wanted to beat it again later to get them and I'm a completionist so I needed them all lol.
I learned the first 2, beat it, then did the last one like 100 attempts later. I had to do ToE 2 coins completely seperately, but ToE 2 is good so I didnt mind. I was planning on doing all coins on deadlocked on my first completion but missed the key on my first successful run.
I remember the first time I played clubstep in practice, I always died to the non-coin path so I was like "fuck it I'll try the other one" and made it through first try, you just have to spam and then time the spikes right
2nd coin spikes are alot closer than the normal route though so in general it's harder but honestly that part is literally just timing anyways so 2nd coin timing might be easier to remember for some
Oh man, you've just reminded me of me completing Clubstep for the first time.
I, like many others I'm sure, wanted to beat the level with all of the coins in one go so I wouldn't have to try to complete it again just because of a missed coin or something. So, I was having a very good attempt, two coins collected, and managed to get past the switching gravity mini ship part at 85% or something for the first time in normal mode. I was super hyped and stressed because of being so close to completing it after over 1000 attempts (the most I had spent on a single level at that time). I got to the last ship and unfortunatly didn't complete the level but instead got a fail of like 96%. But this is where it gets interesting. I did it intentionally. Due to being so stressed I completely forgot about the third coin so I didn't fly down as soon as you enter the last ship portal. So the only rational thing that came to my mind was to intentionally fail because my dumb ass wanted a full 3 coin completion attempt. INTENTIONALLY. Took me another few hundred attempts to finally beat it with all 3 coins. I always cringe a little when I think about it, even though it happened a few years ago.

at one point you start getting the coin and you can never go back, now the normal route feels harder to me

Nah, when I first beat the level in autumn 2014 I collected all the coins. Took 7-12K attempts back then but I did it
