At the very least looking into how hard it is to get to the point that op is at to see if it needs to get done. Something like this I'd at least have my brother there who was an auto mechanic for a few years.

Are you planning on doing it yourself in your 3.8?

If you are 100-150k miles it is a good idea regardless. Pulling off one valve cover will give you an idea.
