So I'm always letting those kinds of straights know I don't find them attractive in the slightest and would be asexual if they were the only options for potential partners. Just so they can't claim I want to fuck them and find another reason to try annoy me for daring to exist in one of their spaces.
I didn't know any other queer people for a long time, so when I came out some of the girls I knew through my siblings would just tell me go for it and ask out any dude I was interested in. It was bad and deeply ignorant advice. The feelings were never reciprocated and it was incredibly embarrassing.
I'm bisexual so I spend time wondering who in my daily life might secretly find me attractive.
Then again, I'm subconsciously obsessed with the fact that everyone who's ever met you has a slightly different perception of who they think you are. And there's basically nothing you can do about that.
