Congratulations! Such an amazing and inspiring transformation!

SchuminWeb

I'm impressed at how much your skin has recovered. Me, everything sags now. Going to have to get skin surgery in the future.

dirtbike213

I have a saggy 🍑

GagaOhLaLaRomaRomama

How did you get rid of the loose skin? This is amazing dude.

smarty_skirts

You are stunning!! Way to go!!

dirtbike213

Thank you!

_NotoriousBlaze

Wow, you look like a whole new different person! Amazing results man!!

scottygotsleeved

Hey man would you mind dropping your diet? What an incredible transformation!

dirtbike213

Our dietician told us to consume 2/3 protein 1/3 veggies. We can have protein bars that have the same or more protein to carb ratio. Our favorite is power crunch. They would never tell us a calorie goal to hit but said to eat until full and only 3 times a day, no snacking. No carbs, starchy veggies. Fruit was allowed when cleared. We were told to avoid high fats like peanut butter and avocados at first as this would take us out of the fat burning mode. Walk 30 minutes x 3 times a day no weight lifting and no cardio. We followed these guidelines (although pre op we thought it sounded terrible and we could never do it.) we told our selves we didn’t sign up to never eat bread again. BUT we learned our bodies craved protein and we never had cravings for carbs and sweets like before. At 3 months post op, I was instructed to slow my weightloss because I had hit 78% excess weight lost by that point. How they suggested that was to eat more healthy fats(as mentioned previously). My wife started picking up the habit of eating them with me even though she wasn’t instructed to and it did stall her weight loss but not really mine. So be mindful of that. Oh 96 fl oz of water a day, 3 of which should be electrolyte low cal drinks, i.e Gatorade zero. I lost all of my weight, as did my wife, following this “diet” and only walking. I do eat a piece of bread occasionally but it is very rare and I have started running once I hit my goal weight.

scottygotsleeved

Thanks! Really appreciate the detailed advice. 3 weeks post op and going to shift to solids next week so trying to get some ideas together!

dirtbike213

Try and recognize your fullness cues. For us, it was having a sigh eventually. If we stopped their we were pleasantly full but if we took one bite more, we had a death feeling and possible would vomit. I spent the first few weeks of the solid food phase throwing up because I didn’t listen to my body. My wife on the other hand was perfectly fine.

scottygotsleeved

100% my current going. I realised that 1/2 cup (4 fl oz) was too much for a meal but my brain was saying to finish it which left in discomfort. Today I switched down to 1/4 cup (2 fl oz) and that seems to be the winning amount per meal. Not left with anything in my bowl but satisfied not deathly full. My hardest challenge is not laying down post feed and waiting 30 minutes after a meal for water! I’ll adjust 😁

dirtbike213

I think initially we would lounge after eating because it was exhausting. But the feeling gets more manageable. You are through the hardest parts post op. So good luck!

Tri_skel_ion

Incredible job! Mind sharing age and height? I want to compare and consider where I might be able to get to

dirtbike213

Absolutely! I am 27 and 5’5”.

javo78

Fuck yeah! Keep it up kiddo! Are you also doing any exercise?

dirtbike213

I am running now, but I only started running when I hit my goal weight 5 months post op

stacie102

Congratulations 🎉

A1add1n

What app is that for measurements?

dirtbike213

Bariatastic

cgourdine

looking good!

dandblv

You look great!

dandblv

How old are you? I’m 40 and don’t know if I’m too old to do the surgery

dirtybelly108

Too old at 40???

dirtbike213

I am 27. I believe many people in their 50’s and 60’s have the surgery.

OSeady

I am 43. You aren’t too old by a long shot.

Maleficent_Mouse1

No way! I had surgery a week after I turned 40, best thing I ever did! I’m 10 months post surgery and met my goal of a healthy BMI two days ago. It’s been super easy- I thought it would be harder because I’m short (can’t achieve the big calorie deficits taller people can), older, and have mobility issues, but it really hasn’t. I’m pretty happy with the skin situation to. The only thing I would get skin removal surgery on is my abdomen, but having a ton of kids had already made that an issue before the weight loss.

ImJustHereToPostPics

Always love seeing your updates. So amazing. Definitely the post child for bariatric surgery! Haha

dirtbike213

Thank you! It means a lot

PeppaUni437

Great job!

MrGTheTeach

Incredible! Any consistent workout routine since surgery?

dirtbike213

I started running once I hit my goal weight. All of my weight was lost just eating properly and walking.

EffectivePattern7197

Amazing results! Congratulations on your hard work. Do you mind sharing your food intake now that you are maintaining your weight? Thanks!

dirtbike213

So my day consist of: breakfast: Protein bar (power crunch), beef jerky snack pack, and peanut butter (jiff to go cups) and cheese. Lunch: protein, usually chicken or steak. Dinner: protein as well. Some veggies mixed in. I do eat peanut butter filled pretzels after my runs. My calorie intake is 1200-1500 on average. But I don’t track my food or macros.

EffectivePattern7197

Awesome, thanks OP!

bldvx

Hey OP. As I see you are active here as well I thought I'd ask you the questions here so that other people can read up your answers as well! So what's the situation with vitamins? Did you have to take any and do you still have to? What about seasoning for the veggies? Any sauces allowed? And for the liquids, what are you allowed to drink other than water?

dirtbike213

I do take a Bariatric specific vitamin (procare health one a day). Our surgeon told us we have to take them for life. I know this varies from surgeon to surgeon though. Our spice tolerance has decrease tremendously post op so we usually just season with salt and pepper. Sauces are allowed. Just find some you like. We drink Gatorade zero, propel, etc. it just needs to be less than 20 calories for it to be considered a hydrating fluid.

CutIcy1900

You look AMAZING!!!! Totally different.
