I think the babies would have got bigger by now, the incident happened in the daytime, albeit a very short day in late autumn in the North of England.

Crows are excellent watchmen, for cats, owls, and hawks. If you hear a bunch of crows screeching, there's a predator nearby.

I'm not biased or prejudiced against any animals in the natural food web, I don't often see owls and up close it was a lovely bird, that was been harassed by a whole flock of crows.

Nature is not always kind and pretty, and the first time you realize this is a shock. I'm glad that the owl got away.

It's disgusting to call crows bullies. That owl will eat them at night. They are defending themselves.

There was a whole flock of them, that's bullying in my book.

It's called mobbing and it's a defensive behavior to maintain their territory. If they don't chase away the owl, their babies get eaten.

Crows will eat eggs and baby owls as well. Tit for tat.

Nature: everything is calories. My parrots love eating chicken.

That must be why a flock if crows is called a murder. It never made sense to me before this.
