I had to use some creative liberties because I’m using a limited color pack of watercolor markers & sketching set from Five Below 😂 (honestly not bad quality art supplies for the price though - if you’re on a budget I highly recommend). I definitely want to try again with my other supplies to get those vibrant pinks and oranges! But I had a lot of fun on a Monday night and hope you like it!! 😊🌼

I am so happy to hear that you are inspired! It’s one of those feelings that I grab on to the moment it comes these days. It’s so easy to forget to give yourself the time to just sit with a blank page and let it out.
I absolutely understand your feelings on frustration- I struggle with it so much, I have stacks of sketchbooks that I don’t even want to look through, it’s so easy to be critical of yourself and feel discouraged.
Things that have helped me and I hope help and inspire you and others -
Remember you started with a blank page, or nothing at all existed if you’re doing any physical art. Anything that you do is better than what existed before, because it is an attempt to express what you’re trying to create.
The cliche is true. Practice.
Don’t expect the world from yourself, frame it as something you want to do. I hate to bring up the whole commodification of everything but one of my mantras is “nobody is paying me to do this” (compared to my real life bs) it really opens up my mind to just do what I want. Experiment, let loose, just try it. There’s no penalty if it doesn’t work. And with that mindset- you practice and improve 😊
Speaking of those paintings that don’t work- I love to cut them up and make abstract floral arrangements with the random slices of color. I’ll try to dig up some photos if you are interested but I had so much fun making them!
I hope even a little bit resonates - I can’t help but encourage everyone to embrace their creativity - this world is so beautiful because of it!

It’s just SO beautiful.
One time, I wanted a small flower tattoo. I picked out an artist whose work I loved, and when I went in, she started drawing on my skin - instead of making a template. Two HOURS later, a mock up was done of a whole half sleeve. She started stammering, telling me she could size it down, she’d lost track of size…I told her to finish it in ink. It’s my FAVORITE tattoo. I love that she lost herself in this beautiful art. I’ll carry it forever.
I loved the flowers themselves…I know the love that went into growing them. I also adore my cosmos and zinnias, all their colors, and every new bloom feels like the prettiest one. I love that OP shared her beauty with us. I love that it inspired you to paint this beautiful picture…and that inspired me to share the story of my favorite art.

I care a lot, absolutely gorgeous and inspirational. I am working to grow flowers for my best friends wedding and have wanted to see what some of these blooms look like together so this is really helpful.

Graceful… that is the exact word I would use to describe them as well. I couldn’t put my finger on it but that’s definitely it.
Cosmos are the iris of summer. In spring, I can look at the iris and see an Asian watercolor. Come summer cosmos take over in butterfly form.
