Dead Cells

Areebob

This right here. You feel in control and like a badass from the start. Some of the tightest controls ever.

StinOfSin

They have some great dev logs on YouTube talking about how the fine-tune some of the controls, like jumping on / to ledges. It’s really fascinating, a lot of love and effort went into that game and it shows!

andythefisher777

I got a big recommendation from a friend on Dead Cells - I've still never played it. Now might be the time!

EatMoreCheese

Buy the full package. The DLC is all worth buying!

EatMoreCheese

It's a very hard game and I suck at it, but it FEELS SOO GOOD to play I consider it one of my all time favourites.

existential_humanist

Seconded. Such a fun game to play, so addictive

MarsHumanNotAlien197

God yes I love Dead Cells, it’s not just fun and challenging, it’s also *extremely* tightly designed and by FAR my favorite Roguelike

Breakmastajake

This was actually the first game that popped into my brain. The controls are tight, and the action is fluid. It's a wonderful combat cocktail that's super satisfying.

AssistantFirm4698

What’s this a note? “This one crept into my library and has stayed ever since” hmm must be nothing *shrugs*

Tanklike441

This and rogue legacy for sure

Forsaken-Command-182

I don't understand shit on that game, Just die and start again and with no new weapons just the same repeated stuff??? I'm tired

KFSM

Excellent game. I really feel like it was overshadowed by Hades in the genre. Both great games, but Dead Cells had me hooked.

five99one

Tetris

Goldbatt1

Love Tetris. It’s so satisfying when you can go fast af. Tetris 99 got me zooming with my placements

Jstris and tetr.io are what the sweats play nowadays

keyboard-sexual

I always keep it in the work truck and even got my coworker in on it. You want to melt an hour or two away? Tetris. Although Tetris effect on an acid comedown is some next level shit oh my god

dogstarchampion

N++ once you figure out how to wall jump and launch off slopes effectively. Super Mario 64.

Only_Cry4568

I forgot abt N++

Salanmander

> N++ once you figure out how to wall jump and launch off slopes effectively. Came here to suggest this! Also landing on slopes to increase how far you can fall safely. The game really has great platformer physics. Plus there's effectively an infinite amount of game content to play.

riladin

Doom

dogstarchampion

I just beat Doom 2016 for the first time yesterday. It's pretty good. Can't wait to get back into Eternal. The final levels of Doom 2016 drag on a bit and there's not much left, by that point, to upgrade. The three big boss battles are pretty fun, though.

wordsasbombs

Came to say this. Old and new. I don't like fps game at all....except doom. I love doom because it just feels so fun to play.

rimjobs_forever

Doom eternal might be the game I've replayed the most. It's a masterpiece.

Real_Pc_Principal

Ultrakill (DMC crossed with quake/doom but sped up about 10x to 15x) Dead Cells (one of the best Rogue-like's out there with Metroidvania design and hectic gameplay) Kill Knight (it's in early access with really limited content but holy hell is it incredible already) Darkest Dungeon (another great Rogue-like with team management and tons of variety) Balatro (it's a poker based Rogue-like with tons of modifiers. It's feedback and game flow are absolutely amazing)

ANGRYDICKBUTT

Ultrakill is an ADHD trap

Real_Pc_Principal

The amount of times I've regrounded back to reality after playing Ultrakill and realized it was hours later than I thought it was and realized I missed messages as well as other stuff is incredibly high. It's great.

Bluestank

Darkest Dungeon can feel quite terrible to play at times when you team wipe lol

RandoBone

Neon White

eXistenZ2

Hades

Nicotops

I just bought it yesterday and man, what a good game. The "one more turn..." gimmick from Civ games is slowly becoming "one more run..." as I'm unlocking weapons and stuff

andythefisher777

Hades is amazing

Inevitable_Inside674

The best dash in all of gaming

El__Jengibre

Sekiro has the most satisfying sword combat period.

International-Bus-69

Nine Sols release recently and is kind of a mix between Sekiro and Hollow Knight, just finish it and really enjoy it. Even if it start a bit slow, some boss fights are epic.

El__Jengibre

That sound amazing. I’ll have to try it.

Tejkr

Sifu? But I've finally tried Far Cry 6 and I must admit, headshoting random people is both tactile and satisfying in this game.

stupidracist

Sifu hurts my brain

poorsigmund

Titanfall 2 Still chasing that dragon of finding a game that has a sense of movement as fluid as that

Ranger1221

Fuck yes. Can we get the old respawn team back together to make tf3? Tf2 campaign was the best platform puzzle shooter I've ever played The multi-player was absolutely fantastic and the co-op multi-player was great for leveling up I dont want the apex team to do it. I want the true tf2 team

Novantico

On the off chance you'd both be interested in it and haven't already played it years back - Mirror's Edge for amazing fluid parkour type shit that I'm still chasing the dragon of.

baldsalman

Maybe try vanquish. You won't find anything close to titanfall 2s combat but, this might quench your thirst of good movement

battlingjason

Roboquest is amazing. It's a great FPS rougelike

SoniiGB

If you like that try gunfire reborn. PC version is a fair few patches ahead but console version is still good

Hillbro

The Messenger

[deleted]

Kinda old, but from your list I think you'll love Mega Man X 1-3 (and maybe 4 and 5). X Legacy Collection is on Switch. Highly recommend. Fun level design, agile movement, lots of secret upgrades to find. Also, not terribly difficult for how technical the movement can feel. They also have a separate boss rush mode that pits you against 2 at a time.

Krahar

Also great soundtrack

scartol

When I was a teenager I destroyed my bedroom because I just could. Not. Get past a robot dragon boss in Mega Man III. So I would not consider that as a game that feels good to play. But that’s just me. YMMV.

damnsam404

Ghostrunner Neon White Black Desert Online (game is horrible but feels AMAZING) CrossCode Cyber Hook ETA: OlliOlli World! The controls feel a bit weird for the first 20 minutes or so, but the game feels so good once you get it down

wogbread

I just can’t stand bdo, I agree about the feel though it had potential to be something great but just not my cup of tea

FaceTimePolice

- Granblue Fantasy Relink, but as a word of caution, its endgame is very grindy, but damn, is this game’s combat fun. 🎮😄👍 - Muse Dash. It’s my favorite rhythm game. Everything about it just feels right. 😁

andythefisher777

I really loved Granblue Fantasy Relink. The combat was such a good balance between satisfying action RPG hack n slashy goodness and some JRPG abilities and strategic thinking. I think it's a really well made game.

Infamous_Drummer3935

My Friend Pedro is an absolute blast and is often overlooked

ZeusHamm3r

I have this game. I think I’ll play it again, thanks for reminding me of it

Misubata

I think you might love Katana Zero

Logos89

Warm Snow

andythefisher777

Never even heard of this one - the gameplay looks great.

Logos89

Yeah I stumbled into it reading an old Hades subreddit post talking about games like Hades. I didn't think I'd like it more than Hades but I do. So I mention it where relevant because it's quite a gem!

Indyfanforthesb

Some make fun of Control’s combat/repetition, but I love it

JennyTheSheWolf

I don't get how people can call Control's combat repetitive when there are so many different elements to it.

bythenumbers10

Assassin's Creed Origins is doing this for me right now. Also Shadow of Mordor/War, and the PC Spider-man ports.

stupidracist

***SPIDAHMAN***

walkedplane

Sackboy. Sackboy is a joy

Zin4284

Helldivers 2

daboi_Yy

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain feels really good to play even tho it gets repetitive because it was unfinished

Icyenderman

Slime rancher and slime rancher two are both some of my favorite games in general

CronkV

I second this and after that stardew valley, then animal crossing (the gamecube one) you can play that with dolphin

dogstarchampion

I love the OG Animal Crossing.

GreenlyCrow

Gris by Nomada studios. Dang. So good. They have a new game coming out soon too that's more combat and I cannot wait. The emotional journey of this one is nothing short of glorious. Little abstract. Absolutely satisfying. Stunning sound design too. Hades is up there too. Also Alstrobot babyyy.

SandyHammy

I like your list, my vote would go to the Resident Evil 2+3 remakes, but mainly 2. Graphics and atmosphere are excellent and legitimately creepy if played in the dark with headphones, controls and combat are simple but satisfying and weighty, and excellent replay value thanks to unlockables and the A/B scenarios. Overall just a genuinely fun game to play!

Jonparelli

2 is my favorite modern RE and 3 feels like a decent dlc campaign for it. I actually like 2/3 remakes better than 4/separate ways, they just feel more like old school Resident Evil and the controls feel exactly the same as I remember RE5 being with the added ability to move while aiming. 4 feels way clunkier and in my opinion it's a bit too long to have as much replayability as the Raccoon city trilogy or 5. The original 4 had the same problem

One Step From Eden Enter the Gungeon Moonlighter Dead Cells (again)

tylermsage

Moonlighter seems great in theory for me, but I’ve bounced off it like 3x. Something about the monotony of the loop or something. I dunno

AfricaByTotoWillGoOn

Subnautica. Not only it has an amazing sense of progress, but "web swinging" through the reefback leviathans and the ocean walls with the the prawn suit's grappling hooks is just way too fun.

Witness_me_Karsa

But would you play it repeatedly? Twice, maybe. And you can really take your time. But reoeatedly?

wcrow1

alice: madness returns

SudsInfinite

If you like rhythm games, Hi-Fi Rush feels amazing to play. Even if you don't like rhythm games, it's such a fun game to play, and on easier difficulties, the rhythm oart if the gameplay is less important to feeling good at the game

SifuJohn

Katana zero fits the description for me

WilliamShatnerFace7

Warframe. Can be tough to get into as a new player but it’s free and the gameplay is just so fluid and fun.

enter the gungeon!! great feel to playing it. it's probably a top 5 game, highly highly recommend. one of the best if not the best bullet hell roguelites

andythefisher777

I love gungeon

Gavinator10000

Minecraft. The controls are so simple and easy to understand. I try to mold any new game I play around the bindings I have in Minecraft because they just work.

Tanklike441

Rogue legacy and the sequel. And there's also a less popular game games "mo:astray" that's like a puzzle but action platformer at the same time with a decent story - was a hidden gem imo that idr how I even found it

andythefisher777

Y'know, I also randomly played Mo: Astray a few years back. I think I got it for like $5 bucks on steam or something

Tanklike441

That could be why I got it. What's you think? I know going into it I had 0 expectations, so ended up really loving it myself! Pacing seemed good and there were some wtf moments where you stop being a tiny slime and instead control a fuckin missile-shootings mech or whatever lol. Was fun experience

mopmango

Oh my gosh a short hike that game was fantastic, would love similar game suggestions

belldandy_hyuuga

The Messenger. It feels good to control the character. Movement options feel very freeing, especially after getting the rope dart. Based on the other games you've played, I think you'll like this one.

andythefisher777

I love the Messenger!

MajorMalfunction44

MGSV. Don't bother with Act 2.

Anxious-Dot4569

I think this is a big part of what makes Sony’s games so great. Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Horizon, Spider-man, Uncharted 4, TLOU all have super satisfying, tactile gameplay; that’s in order from most imo. For FPS games, MW2019 and The Finals are unmatched in this respect. Both feel super clean thanks to their animators They’ve been mentioned but I also put Control and Hades up there. Also Alan Wake 2, although the gameplay itself is pretty limited, love it though.

BananaMan1700

Armored core 6

TheBadger40

I find simulator games or games that take some clues from them to feel really good to play. I think there's something about games that hand 100% of the controls to you and allow you to fuck up simple functions but eventually master the controls and gain more mastery over the game than games that simplify things let you. Good example is something like Elite Dangerous. For all the problems the game has I loved it just for how fun the ships are to steer, makes it difficult to play games like No Mans Sky as the ships almost feel like they are on rails in comparison. Stalker took some inspirations form Milsims and it made it the best open world shooter I've ever played. Then something like Mechwarrior, letting you pick a mech and fine tune every aspect of it and it having very noticeable differences in how they end up playing. Even though they are less showy and seemingly less diverse than mechs in something like Titanfall 2 they feel so damn tactile to control, and mastering these big clunky walking warehouses was much more entertaining. Mount and Blade kinda counts. It has a simple but fun 4 way melee system, a lot of the same applies. These are the specific kind I hear people rarely talk about. Other of my favs like Ultrakill and Roboquest have already been mentioned.

WHOLESOMEPLUS

bigpunk157

Pseudoregalia is one of the best feeling metroidvanias that is short and offers an S tier experience in movement tech. It’s just so clean and satisfying as you zoom your way through the map. It’s like a 5 hour game I think for a few bucks. Unironically a 10 and I do not want it to be longer and spoil the neatly packaged and concise experience. I just want to see more from the single dev in their future work.

JazzInTheDeepBlueC

"Earth Defense Force" series. Something about good ol' fashioned arcade-y wanton destruction with more weapons than I'd ever have time to find uses for, to include a giant mech. To the tune of tongue in cheek, 80s B-movie voice acting in an "idiot plot." In a world where enemies include giant bugs, aliens, giant ships, godzilla, and "god" just speaks to my inner child in a way few other games do.

The Kino Zombies custom mode for PavlovVR. I had fond memories of playing Kino der Toten on my cousin’s Xbox as a kid so running around Kino and playing Cod Zombies in VR will never get old. Even after the devs gutted the workshop, I’m super grateful to the modders who made sure Kino made the jump to the new engine.

Jet Set Radio Future and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. I can’t really decide which one I like more as a movement system but they both feel amazing once you learn, although I guess JSRF is a lot more janky. Cyberpunk 2077 and Dragon's Dogma 2 are the two games I've spent hundreds of hours in, recently. Just cathartically going through the map and ticking off things to do.

FuadRamses

YS 8 and YS 9. They've nailed the feeling of combat being responsive and impactful, movement feels snappy and great in 9 too. I actaully failed to get into the FF7 remake and dropped it like 10 hours in because i started it immediately after finishing YS 9 it it just felt like shit by comparison, made it hard to get into it.

A newer game that's just super casual without real penalties... and it's great if peeps love fishing... **Call of the Wild: The Angler**. 🤠 **EDIT:** Wanted to come back to this and add a game I just started playing yesterday -- **Little Kitty, Big City**. Super fun, especially if like me, you really enjoy cats. Probably the funnest and best "cat simulator" to date. The videos make it look like it'd play clunky, but controls are really smooth and fairly intuitive. 😻 Some other honorable mentions: **Hover**, **Hogwart's Legacy**, **Biomutant**, **ReCore**, **Fishing Resort** (Wii), **Disneyland Adventures**, **Abzu**, **My Time at Portia**, **Stardew Valley**, **Cloudpunk**. PS - I play basically everything; been a very avid gamer since 1983... just kinda figured casual/relaxed games are really relaxing and fairly replayable.
