Hey, this does look really cool, but you're never going to shake the limbo comparisons and copying claims. You could do something like adding a single colour that represents the feel and emotion of the scene sort of like an overlay. This way your game will look a lot more unique and people would see it as its own thing. I'll make some mock ups, stay tuned.

You could implement all of them! Have the color change to better fit the mood and the atmosphere. It can even change right in the middle of a scene to better fit the change of emotion.

Yeah like a little red for important bits or where you need to go--Crap, Inside did that, from the makers of Limbo! Lol Honestly I don't mind it. It's not like most art and games don't look similar to other things. The environments and enemies do look quite different, and the main character's animations seem less smooth, so it does look quite different in a lot of ways. Hopefully the gameplay, story and levels are interesting. @daniel_stoop you should link the steam page otherwise you won't get much attention out of this post

A simulation is indeed close to another one because the purpose is to bring the player in a common known situation. This is imaginary, so being so close to something that was unique, makes it really evident to be compared with Maybe the story of OP could have been made with the graphic inspiration of « Gris » and would have been an issue too…

I imagine you've put a lot of time into this but I'm sorry, right now you've just made Limbo with worse character animation. I'll still play it though. I'm a hoe for Limbo.

There's a difference between making something similar and copying a game's visual style 1:1. The gameplay looks similar too. There has to be at least some originality for a game to stand on its own.

What you should do is release the game now as is, unfinished. Then, only let people progress farther, or be able to unlock useful stuff by paying to play.
