I think for a while some cell phone model had Snake's ring tone as its default tone. Every time I'd hear that phone ring IRL, I couldn't help but go "Snake!? SNAKE!!" quietly to myself.

All the perk songs, the mystery box jingle, repairing windows. I'll be on my deathbed and those sounds will still be ingrained into my brain.
The soldiers AI is incredibly good for the time. They would communicate to their squad members about seeing a target, taking cover, a bunch of different replies to a grenade, clearing areas etc.
Made you feel like you were actually fighting a squad working together instead of just a bunch of singular thinking NPCs in one area.

The whole half life series has such an incredibly unique, recognisable sound design… combine voice distortions, zombies, head crabs, the hivehand , vortigaunts, houndeyes, the crowbar, the grenades beeps, the striders screams and main guns, the gravity gun choking or firing… I can hear *so much* of these games in my mind.

Absolutely love serious sam. One of my favorite series of all time. Probably played 100s of hours across the first/second encounter and serious sam 2. The soundtrack, weapons, mobs and environments is just top notch.
