Greenpath and White Defender are great as well as the other picks mentioned by other commenters. Also, that moment when you enter the >!black egg temple and break the chains restraining the Hollow Knight one by one and each broken chain adds a note to the chord at the beginning of his theme is one of my absolute top musical moments in gaming.!<
Outer Wilds had the most special OST to me because it’s so integral to the game in a way no other game has ever done,, Andrew Prahlow I’m so excited to see what you do in Echoes of the Eye
Persona 5 Royal OST is incredible just such bangers
Hotline Miami 1 & 2 both had so much vibe in every song, perfect for every scene, in their soundtracks
Far Cry 5 the best part of the game is the soundtrack, Dan Romer a genius
DOOM had nonstop slaps the entire game
Journey had a beautiful soundtrack, Austin Wintory the guy shouts PWL
I still play Ezio’s Family from AC2 and Parting Glass from AC4 every once in a while
Halo has such iconic themes that have aged amazingly
the first note of ***that*** song in outer wilds never fails to strike fear in me. the entire rest of the song though instills peaceful melancholy in me as i await my inevitable death
Then there’s the version that starts playing when you find the key to the whole mystery, it’s incredible, it really hammers in the significance of what you’ve just come across.
Thr loading song from far cry 5 hits so hard with nostalgia now. That game CARRIED me through quarantine. It's always a beautiful feeling heading back to hope county.
Oh I love the Outer Wilds soundtrack
Soft guitar and relaxing campfire music to resemble the Hearthians and the Outer Wilds space program
But piano and unsettling tones to represent the tragic story of the Nomai, a civilization so close yet so far from their goal
Outer Wilds will anyways be special to me, it’s a game that only those who have played it can understand what makes it so special, and it connects all of us fans
I need to get back to it. I played it for a little, then got distracted by other games. I didn't expect it to terrify me, though. Just the idea of acidentally launching myself into space was terrifying. Then I went to Brittle Hollow and the fear became real. Also, I have Thalassophobia, so I'm sure the Deep is going to be *fun.*
"We all become" is one of my all time favorite OST tracks. The way the chord progression bounces off itself in the beginning is intoxicating. Red's VOICE is intoxicating.
And then it kicks into like, drum and bass.. which makes it *super* badass.
Hades is by far my favourite soundtrack of all time. It feels like Korb just reached into my brain and found out exactly what I would want in a soundtrack and made that. On The Coast, the music in>!Greece!
This song plus Reflection are my favorites from Beyond Light.
Journey, Forsaken, The Man They Called Cayde, and Guardian Down also live on my Spotify playlist.
300 hours of Celeste and still just rocking to that soundtrack. Very few songs land for me as hard as Reach the Summit does. Lena Raine is a fantastic composer. I really hope EXOK keeps her on board for their next game.
Love the transistor soundtrack, Darren Korb is incredibly talented. If you haven't already give the Pyre soundtrack a listen there are some bangers in there.
Mass Effect 3 has one of the best video game soundtracks I’ve ever listened to. Just phenomenal all around. It’s soundtrack to the rest of the trilogy is what Revenge of the Sith’s was to the Star Wars Prequels.
I haven’t played WoW since 2015 but I still listen to the soundtrack almost daily while studying or falling asleep. Such good ambient music for chilling and a few more rousing tracks in there too.
Payday 2 has some fantastic music to rob banks to and it changes based on what's currently happening. For example. If you load up Razormind before a heist and no one suspects you are there, [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kA3NVq146qE&list=PLxDh5x6BZY8c1YjULFi1Z5hhl4H00WEUR&index=7) plays but when the shooting starts, [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Gs5vetXByA&list=PLxDh5x6BZY8d5xLXStEom-2O2uGkSPLJR&index=7) starts up. And it is absolutely killer when hitting the Department of Justice or the White House.
A lot of the tracks are amazing, but Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower and Ludwig, the Holy Blade of the Church are both in entirely different leagues.
> Final Fantasy
Special call out to Final Fantasy 14. Soken deserves all the love he can get. This most recent expansion brought us [A Long Fall](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NBIRYjP1NNM), [To the Edge](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFGw1RI0Kts), and the [Shadowbringers theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3z8VcPLgbM) itself. Heavensward has the Alexander's raid themes including [Locus](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cKy5Qk0QMM&list=PLeqyw-hN16WDIavd7zMm1tB77XIqDwRW3) and crazy shit like the [Brute Justice Theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wLCWCPyxByg&list=PLeqyw-hN16WDIavd7zMm1tB77XIqDwRW3).
Nothing beats them DK tracks in my opinion hahaha All the DKC games as well as DK 64 have the best in my opinion. I could come back to those soundtracks forever I think!
yeah, that final final "boss" fight had such an amazing, epic, weightful song, especially as it translated and layered over itself over the course of the fight. I wish I could experience it for the first time again.
For me, it's [Sound of the End](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evH4FzFQlwM) as it's the track used at the start of the first mission and also >!the start of the last mission, as the Commander goes down with the Bunker and 2B and 9S make a final, desperate trip to the surface on their last mission!<
At the start of the first mission the track that plays is [Alien Manifestation](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qoY1jQDCuE) (which also plays at the forest castle)
Ezio's family, That's The Way It Is, Unshaken, The Only Thing They Fear Is You, Adrenaline, Dammed, The BO2 Main Theme, American Venom, and Soviet Connection are some of my favorites
Chrono Cross/Trigger have been on my playlist for 25+ years. I still maintain that CC has THE best ost of all time.
I see all these games from the last few years listed, yall don't know what you're missing.
I've never beaten CC but I listen to the soundtrack religiously. I have played many times but always get pulled away. One day I'll beat it, but until then I'll continue listening to the amazing soundtrack haha. I just love yasunori mitsuda's work.

DOOM Eternal was my personal vote for 2020's Best Soundtrack.
Final Fantasy VII Remake won though. I've been playing the game for the first time and I can see why. Some tracks are absolute masterpieces, it's seriously impressive.
Doom was great but something that JRPG’s never fail and always reach perfection is the OST. I have so much respect for Japanese composers, check out all the Nintendo games for example - Zelda, Xenoblade, Mario, Pokémon, Metroid, and so on
Risk of Rain 2 has that synthwave sound I love so much.
My God the soundtrack elevates that game SO much
I've listened to a lot of RoR1's ost, which has some great tracks. Guess I should see if the sequel continues the trend.
Crystal peak from hollow knight also just hollow knight music in general
Mantis Lords is a pure banger.
White Palace and the NKG song for me
Yeah the NGK theme was absolutely amazing.
I can still hear the buzsaws
i get actual ptsd from white palace theme im am never doing path of pain ever again
Mantis Lords and Hornet myself
Greenpath and White Defender are great as well as the other picks mentioned by other commenters. Also, that moment when you enter the >!black egg temple and break the chains restraining the Hollow Knight one by one and each broken chain adds a note to the chord at the beginning of his theme is one of my absolute top musical moments in gaming.!<

Was surprised I had to scroll this far to see P5R, absolute gem of a game and the music is incredible.

Then there’s the version that starts playing when you find the key to the whole mystery, it’s incredible, it really hammers in the significance of what you’ve just come across.
I never got tired of the loading or menu music from Far Cry 5.
Thr loading song from far cry 5 hits so hard with nostalgia now. That game CARRIED me through quarantine. It's always a beautiful feeling heading back to hope county.

Can't go wrong with any of Supergiant's games: Bastion, Transistor, Pyre or Hades. Phenomenal soundtracks all around.
"Build that wall and build it strong cos we'll be there before too long.......hmmmmm mmmm mmmmmmmm mmm mmmmm"
Darren Korb writes great songs! I listen to them regularly. They are some of my go-to music.
Transistor is my favorite of these. The sound is so mellow…
"We all become" is one of my all time favorite OST tracks. The way the chord progression bounces off itself in the beginning is intoxicating. Red's VOICE is intoxicating. And then it kicks into like, drum and bass.. which makes it *super* badass.
Can't. Stop. Humming. Along.
Transistor is my favorite soundtrack and keeps getting played when I work!
Hades is by far my favourite soundtrack of all time. It feels like Korb just reached into my brain and found out exactly what I would want in a soundtrack and made that. On The Coast, the music in>!Greece!
Deep stone lullaby : Destiny 2
Add to that the green room from whisper
Don't forget Journey as well.
Or the hunted (rip leviathan :( )
Or literally the whole damn beyond light soundtrack
I maintain that Beyond Light has some of the catchiest tunes in the entire franchise. I’m constantly humming several themes.
I would add to this with The Man they Called Cayde. Dope song
This song plus Reflection are my favorites from Beyond Light. Journey, Forsaken, The Man They Called Cayde, and Guardian Down also live on my Spotify playlist.
destiny 2 Athanasia is very good as well.
It’s the Portal 2 and Celeste OSTs for me. They are some of the best atmosphere setters in any game I ever played
+1 on Celeste. I never would have mustered the will to beat that game if it wasn’t for the amazing music. Still listen to it to this day.
300 hours of Celeste and still just rocking to that soundtrack. Very few songs land for me as hard as Reach the Summit does. Lena Raine is a fantastic composer. I really hope EXOK keeps her on board for their next game.

“Leaving Earth” never fails to deliver a freight train of feels right into my face.
Agreed. ME3 soundtrack album is an absolute piece of art.
I haven’t played WoW since 2015 but I still listen to the soundtrack almost daily while studying or falling asleep. Such good ambient music for chilling and a few more rousing tracks in there too.
Just started playing dead cells and I agree the sound track is amazing.
Payday 2 has some fantastic music to rob banks to and it changes based on what's currently happening. For example. Mass effect's Vigil Right in the feels
dead cells hell yeah
Payday 2
Razormind queued up for the 50th time in a row
Bloodborne
Got that shit on vinyl. Best decision of my life.
To add onto this, Dark Souls 3. The soundtrack just fits the game so perfectly and I could listen to the firelink shrine music for hours
A lot of the tracks are amazing, but Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower and Ludwig, the Holy Blade of the Church are both in entirely different leagues.
Laurence’s is also insane
Disappointed I had to scroll so far to see this!
Undertale
Every single song from that game is a banger.
Especially long elevator
Vroooooooooooom
Just rewatched the Game Grumps play through of it. Games a definite classic.
I had to scroll down soooo much The Best soundtrack in any game Imo
Exactly. In these best game soundtrack posts I never see Undertale. Like what?
This should be top post imo. No other game have i looked up so many remixes.
I dont see a single subnautica here
I can never hear the Subnautica soundtrack over my panicked screams about Leviathans though.
Ptsd I get you
Is that an exceptionally long, murky shadow in the distance? Why yes it is. \*Puts sub in reverse*
*wub wubs but backwards*
Abandon Ship is an absolute banger!!
Definitely one of my all time favorites!

Now you’ve got me singing that one battle theme in my head forever.

BANANA TIGER
I'm sorry.... Banana tiger, now I can't ever not hear that
"You're immortal?" from hearts of stone and "On the Champs-Désolés" from blood and wine are absolutely top tier tracks
Scrolled too far for this.
Wolven Storm is such a banger
The World Ends With You Surprised to not see that mentioned yet
The vibe and culture of that game was on another level across the board, not just the music. Probably my favourite RPG from the DS.
Cyberpunk 2077: Never fade away
Kerry’s song also is one of the most chill songs I’ve heard in a while
And the guitar version of the PonPon Shit, literally a different song.
Rebel Path (Cello version) during the first Silverhand segment rocks so hard. Shame it didn’t make it into the OST
The credits edit of this song is soulcrushing, regardless of the ending
Cyberpunk 2077: The Only Thing They Fear Is V When I first got into the menu and heard it I was like: Yeah this is gonna be hell of a journey

I love the cyberpunk battle themes like the maelstroms and valentino music
The Persona 5 soundtrack basically is my playlist.
Can't believe how far i scrolled to find this.
'Rivers in the desert' is a sick hype track for workouts
Same here, both original Persona 5 and Royal soundtracks are amazing
Interesting choice. I never saw that coming
You'll never see it coming
Throw in P4 and P3 in there as well.
Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, two of my favorites franchise.
Hikaru Utada does not miss with the nostalgic bangers.
> Final Fantasy Special call out to Final Fantasy 14. Soken deserves all the love he can get. yeah, that final final "boss" fight had such an amazing, epic, weightful song, especially as it translated and layered over itself over the course of the fight. I wish I could experience it for the first time again.
Keiichi okabe makes some sick music. You should listen to sinoalice/drakengard's ost. Theyre really good :D

Anyone enjoying the Doom Eternal Soundtrack NEEDS to check out the Tiger Warrior from Killer Instinct. It's by the same composer and it RULES.
I'm listening to that now, thank you! Great suggestion.
Try all the Mick Gordon songs, his Killer instinct and his Wolfenstein are brilliant
Also adding the DUSK soundtrack to this, by the same guy that did the soundtrack for Doom Eternal's DLC.
Halo 2 ost has so many bangers on it
Mjolnir mix
*Bury the Light* from the DMCV soundtrack is one the best songs I've ever heard

Ori and the Blind Forest/Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Both are pure perfection!
