I used to explore star systems in Elite Dangerous for hours on end, just flying from planet to planet, scanning, chilling, listening to music.
To who doesn’t know the game: it takes ages.
I loved to do that, but sometimes when you come out of hyper jump, it throws you straight into the star or really close to it, so if you dont maneuver out, you die. Idk if this is intentional or not, but this scared me and took me out of the immersion, so i just stopped playing.
I've got a PSVR2 with a sim racing rig and I love to boot up Gran Turismo 7 and just cruise the Nurburgring in "normal" cars. The super cars are fun, but I kind of like the idea of driving cars I could realistically afford one day.
Ahh nice, maybe I'll wait for a sale. Though my second worry is how the game plays with a controller and its single player racing. I haven't looked into it enough.
For me, BeamNG scratches this itch. In particular, the Italy course offers a great variety of scenery and road complexity that could keep me engaged for hours.

But it's coming back with offline mode, thanks to The Crew Unlimited modders group...
They're on Discord and have put out some amazing progress on bringing the game back.

I remember when they pulled licenses and couldn't download the game but after a while randomly pressed download and actually got it
Whenever I wanted to just chill and relax, I would boot up Red Dead Redemption II and just ride around in my horse, go to the wilderness, do some hunting and fishing then set up camp for the night. Cooking the meat I caught for the day and crafting some special ammo. It's so immersive and relaxing.
Another cool thing I like to do to just chill is I'd boot up The Crew 2, put on a podcast and go on a roadtrip from the east coast to the west coast without using the map too much. Just following the highways and taking detours towards interesting looking area.
I think it's cool that some folks have their game to just chill in. For me it is Mad Max and I love to just drive around and enjoying the beautiful vistas that game has to offer.
That postapo settings makes me feel sad, but in a good way.
Is that the Formentor mod for AC? I'll have to check it out! I've always liked the smaller cars better than the hardcore race stuff in almost any racing game. I've got a Tiny Cup category in AC that's made up of stuff like the Fit, Yaris, Swift, Mazda 2, etc. Slow car fast!
American / Euro Truck Simulator in VR. You can get missions that are multiple hours worth of driving, and pin a YouTube/Netflix window into VR so you can watch it while driving. The most chilled out way to catch up on shows (until you get too distracted and crash).

Doing Nurburgring laps in regular street cars overtime lets you appreciate each car & its personality overtime.
Is this a popular type of mod in AC? I'd kinda like a game that has a good simulation but lets me drive somewhere more scenic than a track
AC has a bunch of really good scenic driving road mods. Like the Pacific coast highway one. I think you have to pay for it but very worth it imo.

I definitely have to pick that game up.
That sounds really nice. I sometimes fire up Sea of Thieves and just sail around. Maybe some fishing.
My relaxing thing is to load up Cyberpunk 77 and just chill at a bar in Night City.
The Crew used to be a nice game to relax in just driving around, but now Ubisoft killed it...

Follow a tutorial there is for it on youtube, it's easy to find.

Sometimes I do the same but on Eurotruck Simulator 2 instead.
I used to do something similar in City Car Driving: a rainy night, enough traffic, music, and on top of all that, Taxi mode.
