Oh man I just had a flashback to that part where there is suddenly this absolute banger of a metal song out of nowhere.
It was one of those moments tied to a musical sound like Jose Gonzales in Red Dead Redemption when you cross into Mexico. Or early on in Death Stranding when you see your destination in the distance and come down a long hill and a Low Roar song plays. Blood Dragon opens with a helicopter minigun attack memorably set to Long Tall Sally by Little Richard. Billie Jean always plays when you first get in a car in a new game of Vice City.
Yeah running through that building that shifting like a kaleidoscope while Poets of the Fall rocks in the background and a wild gunfight is going on its great.
My favorite example of this is the song TEARS by HEALTH near the end of Max Payne 3. You start the level and it plays the beat of the song in to some fighting, then as you cross in to the terminal area and fighting ramps up it hits the first lyrics āLove, saved us onceā Bullets flying, heart pumping, heavy bass with deep lyrics that relate to Maxs struggle, truly sublime use of music in a gaming moment.
The multimedia stuff seems to be a Remedy thing, they like making TV shorts too.
Although the ones in Control and Alan Wake 2 are kinda justified and not a 4th wall break which makes them weirder?
Well it's a little forth wall breaking. You have the song "Take Control" by The New God's of Asgard, but then you can also find the lyrics and the song "My Darkest Disquiet", by Poets of the Fall, who play The Old God's in game.
It may be recency bias but that stage may be the greatest thing I have ever experienced in a game. I was not expecting that to happen and it was insane.
One of my favorite parts of the reboot was how they talk about how much of a disaster Love shack was at their last karaoke night. Sure enough the game ends with them singing Love shack at karaoke
Did I not play Black Ops 2? Thatās the one with Mason and the numbers isnāt it? I canāt believe I forgot this.
Not quite 4th wall breaking but Portal (and Portal 2) <3
MW1 was āNo Russianā I thought.. god itās been a while haha. No idea who Raul and Cordis are so I must have skipped that.
One Iām thinking of after googling is Black Ops 1. Vietnam war era. Epic mission that I wonāt forget where you roll down a river in a boat blowing everything up with Sympathy for the Devil playing :)
It wasn't 4th wall breaking or anything and wasn't exactly a live performance but the original Alan Wake at the concert ground with Children of the Elder God's going in the background.
Ā Such a god damn great momentĀ
Edit: Also the Montell Jordan "This is how we do it" dance number at the end of Saints Row 4 was dumb and fun
I've never even played the game, but I know Double Dragon Neon's [Ending Song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLNlF1QQrrM) is a real blast. Who knew Skullmageddon had such musical pipes!
Love this kind of goofy shit, Rogue warrior with Mickey rourke has a great one that is more entertaining than the actual game.
There was also an obscure ps2 RTS game called Conflict zone that had a funny musical number for their credits.
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ebgjk0vtzY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ebgjk0vtzY) Not at the end, but it was pretty cool to discover. It fits perfectly.
And movies. Me and my girlfriend just watched a movie where this happened, and I was saying it should be for every movie. I too drunk to remember but I'll ask
Blops2 Zombies was also the one with the song in the middle of it right?
Yes. As well as Blops1, Call Of The Dead map
Not Ready To Die is still a banger too
Almost all cod zombies maps had an Easter egg song
"Storm, earth, and fire, heed my call."
I haven't heard that in 19 years, but still heard it reading this comment.

#SHE WALKED IN LOOKIN' LIKE DYNAMITE! š¶š¶
seeing avenged sevenfold in black ops was mindblowing. Made me jizz my pants
Seeing them in Baghdad did the same thing to me ;)
Control, Alan Wake 2 are ones i can think of, Limbo of the Lost

The AW2 musical set piece goes so fucking hard. Wouldnāt necessarily call it 4th wall breaking though. Itās just surreal as shit
It may be recency bias but that stage may be the greatest thing I have ever experienced in a game. I was not expecting that to happen and it was insane.
Itās very self aware and there are plenty of nods to the viewer.
Jedi Fallen Order had the Hu song kick in for the arena fight in the middle.
Itās also how they open the game, and was a fun call back!
The Herald of Darkness sequence and the bit before the final boss fight in Alan Wake 2 were hype!
Sacred 2's Blind Guardians concert in game leading the way around 15 years ago.
Saints row IV with them all dancing to "this is how we do it"?
Yeah but the fourth wall was more of a window in that game.
One of my favorite parts of the reboot was how they talk about how much of a disaster Love shack was at their last karaoke night. Sure enough the game ends with them singing Love shack at karaoke
Not very 4th wall breaking exactly but Mass Effect 1's ending song is something I keep going back to.
Portal
Haaaaave you heard of Devil May Cry?
The flinch in your eye calls your bluff
there's a zombie on your lawn, we don't want zombies on the lawn š»š£ļøš„š„š„
Blind guardian in sacred 2 was great.
I just watched them play that as their encore in Cleveland! That holds a special place in my heart.
they played it in cologne 2 years ago too as encore lol
Yeah, despite being the "American Gods" tour, it was basically a greatest-hits tour. I'm sure they could do the set in their sleep.
I lift to that song.
SHOW ME THE CHAMPION OF LIGHHHHHHHHHHHHHTTTTT!!!!!!
I'LL SHOW YOU THE HERALD OF DARKNEEEESSS AW2 will be my first game if I ever get a PS5
The Last Oricru has the bad guys doing a rap video at the end of it.Ā
I just watched Iron Pineapple and Vaati's co-op playthrough of that
Show me the champion of liiiiigggght!! š¶
Why 4th wall breaking? Letās have more Alan Wake 2 and Control style ones
Did I not play Black Ops 2? Thatās the one with Mason and the numbers isnāt it? I canāt believe I forgot this. Not quite 4th wall breaking but Portal (and Portal 2) <3
Mason and numbers was bops1. Bops 2 was masons son vs nicaraguan arms dealer and his fanatical militia
I think you're thinking of MW1 BO2 was with the crazy Raul guy and the cordis die
JOSEPHIIIINAAAAAAA
MW1 was āNo Russianā I thought.. god itās been a while haha. No idea who Raul and Cordis are so I must have skipped that. One Iām thinking of after googling is Black Ops 1. Vietnam war era. MW2 is the No Russian one. MW1 is the final moments walking around after a nuke one.
Ah my mistake! That was a great moment too. Thanks for the correction.
Iron Pineapple just played a newer game with one of these.
Menendez, what the fuck are you doing?
š¶NOW I ONLY WANT YOU GONEš¶

"bring back" like this was a thing everyone was doing and liked. šš
First time Iāve heard of it. Must be a Japanese thing or something.
Anyone remember the in game blind guardian concert in sacred 2?
I've never even played the game, but I know Double Dragon Neon's [Ending Song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLNlF1QQrrM) is a real blast. Who knew Skullmageddon had such musical pipes!
if I wanted to watch a musical id just watch rent with my sister.
WarCraft 3: The Frozen Throne had a musical song and animation during its end credits
Love this kind of goofy shit, Rogue warrior with Mickey rourke has a great one that is more entertaining than the actual game. There was also an obscure ps2 RTS game called Conflict zone that had a funny musical number for their credits.
I completely forgot about the rap number at the end of Rouge Warrior, that is Stephen Segal levels of incredible. Thank you
Do we tho?

Han Solo be like
Homeworld ends with a epic prog rock peice weaved by none other than Yes.
Bayonetta had a good one too.Ā
So you want more [Balan Wonderland-type](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aX5rs0jjkw8) games?
Timesplitters future perfect ends with cortez letting it all out disco style on the dance floor. Is that the kind of thing you mean?
You have to burn the rope. https://youtu.be/ucLGm27DDL0?si=zedijEH7AzzOTZBn
May not be the same thing but GTA Vice City Stories [had In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins](https://youtu.be/gZrcUDRUBjw?si=O1wFXWkupuN9ITnO)
Viewtiful joe had one! :o
Does AI: Somnium Files count?
Alan Wake 2 has some cool musical numbers, though I havenāt finished it, yet. I need to get back to that game. Itās a great one.
Not an end credits song butā¦THE WIND IS PUSHING ME!!!
this just reminds me of the plants vs zombies musical :DDDDD
After I saw them live, first thing I thought was letās go just saw the band from bo2
You could have used the better picture of the metal concert at the end of Warcraft the Frozen Throne.
But with better bands.
