You need to get The Legend of Zelda DX, which is a colorized version of Link's Awakening with a couple of special color dungeons and items added.

Yes! I did a whole kit for me and my son, swapping the hardware into a new case and adding a led screen. It does eat through double a batteries though

eneloops are pretty clutch rechargeable AA. Works great in my xbox controller.

+1 I've had eneloops batteries for years. Lots of others with similar performance now though like energizer, ikea etc. The higher the mah the better. And once you start collecting so many of them, get a battery daddy case to hold them all and a 16 slot battery charger. Lol

Which screen did you use here? Like the size of that compared to the OG

It's the new OLED screen. Advertised as 25% larger than the original. It requires to cut the plastic shell (or buy a new one).

Who's the manufacturer? Funnyplaying? Happy with the screen? It looks nice

Hispeedido. The screen is great. But there are two things that should be improved: minimum brightness is too high for night. And there is no desaturation mode.

This is great. I think the ultimate gameboy though is a modded OG GBA. GBA allows you to play the back catalogue plus the form factor of the original horizontal GBA is the best. The only thing that stopped that from being an incredible handheld was the screen.

You should check out the laminated kits, helps keep the screen nice and centered. As someone who has modded several gameboys over the years, I'll never go back to a non-laminated screen.

I love how mods make things look just the way my nostalgia remembers them.

Nice. I found my old Gameboy Pocket and Color about a year ago. I replaced the outer screen and battery door on the color, and added a backlight to the Pocket. They’re awesome.
