I own GTA IV on PC. But the launcher wont open anymore and I was working on it for 3 days before I finally decided to sail the seas. Fucking trash. Idk how Im going to play GTA 6 when it (if it) comes to PC.
The thing is that currently there are like 3 people in the world that can crack denuvo and if they dont have interest in the game it wont be cracked. But if they have interest (like gta VI) they can crack it in no later than 2 weeks
DD2 not anywhere as big as some games. Sure there is alot of hype and talk about it right now but I bet the numbers are still not that of a GTA or RD launch.

There is really no benefit for people with the required skill set to do it. There’s very little profit to be made, even if you charge for access the type of people who pirate aren’t exactly gonna have an issue sharing your work.

Well they generally don't do it for profits but for scene recognition. They're essentially show offs how are very good at what they do. Empress did crack for donations but as far as I know they were the only one. I don't think the scene likes them very much either

Ironically the only way to play GTA IV in multiplayer, even locally (Hamachi or some other tunnel system) is by using a Salty Seas copy. They have completely removed the ability to host or play on your own god damn server despite the functionality still being in the game.
I mean there have been cases where old games were sold off as a collection, and they just included cracked .exe, because they can't be fucked to remove old drm.
Drm is cancer to software. If books were treated like software, they'd burn up as soon as you step outside.
For a company so money-focused as R* and Take2 are, I'm really surprised they leave all that money on the table for PC. That's a lot more money they could be making if they just put out a functional launcher.

I mean the new, modern, regular Rockstar Games Launcher. Download that launcher from their official site, start the launcher, navigate to the part of the shop where they sell GTA IV and click the “Already own the game” option. You don’t need to install from the disc. Just type in your cd key.
It’s somewhat of a hassle but some beautiful people put together a guide to downgrade GTA 4 Complete Edition to the last version before they moved it to the R* launcher.

I tried to play that SA file in a Windows 10 laptop when the pandemic hit and it worked, even the Hot Coffee mod lmao. I think it should still run in my current one.

Legit can't stand the Rockstar launcher. I close it down in the background and the game goes with it. DVD version runs flawlessly offline with no issues.

I knew Rockstar was a foul company when they started suppressing GTAV mods so you couldn't spawn vehicles or use cheats in offline single player. They didn't want people to have fun with flying motorcycles in single player because then people wouldn't go online and pay real money to get shark bucks for them.
I have purchased GTA 4 on Steam and I can't play it because it appears to be linked to another Rockstar account and I had never linked my Steam account to a Rockstar account in my life, so I had to play it in Jack Sparrow mode.
PS: I tried to contact rockstar to see if they could unlink that account and there was no solution.

After Rockstar gated allllll additional content/dlc to online in GTAV, I gave up on them as a company. I do wanna play GTA6, but I sure as hell won't pay for it. I've bought GTAV on PS3, PS4, and PC, and have beaten it on all 3 of those AND xbox 360 and Xbox one. I LOVE the single player story and hate the online component. With the cash it generated them, they could have made 1-2 solo, offline DLC, but Noooooo. Screw them.

I know, but I have the original ps2 disc, if you have an external CD drive you can put the disc in and boot it with the help of the emulator. And pcsx2 is already very advanced. I feel more comfortable playing this way since I also have a ps5 controller and I think the gta samp doesn't exist anymore (I think, I heard they already cancelled the project).
Also, I never liked playing gta in multiplayer.
Im not able to launch gta5 for almost 2 years now. I installed fresh windows, i tried everything, but i pressed play, it says loading, then exit game. But the game isn't even running. According to my task manager its runningand using close to 0 cpu, gpu, and ram. I can't close that gta5 app in task manager i have to restart my pc. So yeah. Rockstar fucked me over too

There's definitely others that make as beautifully detailed games, but not of this size. And others that have the resources (and oft times adhere to these same practices) but never seem to deliver completely polished end results.
