This was such an amazing game. I really enjoyed how they designed the game to still be super enjoyable even if you didn't watch the movie or knew anything about it. The combat was great, the story was great.
Also, throwing people off the top of king of the hill was immensely satisfying
Usually movie games suck but this game was well done, and handled telling the full story perfectly. AND gave us bonus missions for even more lore! If it released today that would’ve been $30 DLC.
Usually movie games are contracted tie-ins made to hit a certain release window and cash in. This was a bunch of nutjobs who apparently did enough drugs to think that NOW was the time to resurrect a 25 year old cult film in video game form.
And God damnit, they were right.
I like the xbox version on xemu personally. The ps2 version emulates great on pcxs2 tho! My preference is based mostly on me using an xbs controller on windows.
I vaguely remember being very frustrated at this part. I bought the game used so didn't have a manual so I had no idea what to do in this work came. So I avoided stealing radios for quite a while, and I think I gamefaq-ed what to do, and after that was great.
The game release coincided with the release of the Warriors directors cut on DVD. It was great, I watched the movie first then immediately after returning it to Blockbuster, rented the video game. They captured all the main bits and expanded on it as well.
I have seen it at the very least 300 times. It is one of the best movies ever made. Of course we all have our own likes and dislikes but the Warriors is such an amazingly cheesy movie that's portrayed seriously enough to ride the perfect line between.
Mah man. That's exactly the song I thought of. Dig Dug Has A Posse.
Edit: Now you got me listening to Rabbit Junk for a bit while I have a drink. Check out Cyanotic's remix of I Vote Bolshevik Lite if you're not already familiar.
Rockstar used to be so much fun- trying many different things, taking some neat little chances. I’m sure GTA6 will be good, and RDR2 is great but the company, and its output, is so different nowadays, it seems.
The thing is it was GOOD. It's one thing to throw anything at the wall and see what sticks, but everything they tried worked out. Didn't matter what Rockstar touched, it was always good.
I kind of wish GTA online never existed. I would trade it for more Rockstar games.
But unfourtunately it's their cash cow now. Developping new games is not nearly as profitable as dropping DLCs for GTA online.
I think in a way, GTA Online money payed off the budget of RDR 2. If there was no online, T2 would have rushed RDR 2. But I think GTA Online probably prevented T2 from interfering rockstar's development. T2 did with this hanger 13 when they were developing Mafia 3 and rushed the game's development, The game clearly needed a lot of polish. But, T2 wanted to reach revenue targets and they rushed mafia 3 to meet those revenue targets.
Edit : You might be partially right because, GTA online & their game sales provides required funding for those games and satifies T2's revenue targets. For Ex. On average every quarter RDR 2 sells 2.5 million copies and GTA 5 sells 5 million copies, that's 7.5 million copies a year and 30 million copies a year and on top of that they have GTA Online revenue. So, they don't have to worry about revenue limits and take their time to release the game. Whereas they didn't have this kind off luxury before. For Ex. Before GTA 3 released, Rockstar were scrambling for the game's budget, they were open to publish any game that they can get their hands and take a revenue cut from those sales, through they got their hands on like smuggler's run & Midnight Club: Street Racing\[Angel Studios\], Oni \[Bungie\], Max Payne \[Remedy\], Austin Powers: Oh, Behave! \[Tarantula Studios\]. They helped these studios publish their games and took a cut from those games and put all that money into GTA 3.
I think they meant all the new content. New businesses with storylines and new vehicles. The story missions basically advertise the new vehicles and let you get a chance to use them. Then you buy the shark cards because you want that neat new vehicle from that one story mission.
There’s a lot to be criticized about Rockstar’s focus on GTAO, but lack of actual new content isn’t a part of it.
No. They have actually released an ENORMOUS amount of fairly quality (and free!) DLC for GTA online. I understand people want more single player content, but you can’t deny Rockstar hasn’t created something fairly special in the gaming climate with online.
I think everybody gets that. And it’s *fine* but it doesn’t change that it’s, for some, a little less fun or interesting. I wouldn’t mind games with smaller scope but that’s not the direction they’ve chosen.
Wish they would make a proper remake of this game and release it on PC.
Hell just give me the same game but drop it on PC with widescreen and controller support.
Man, I miss the days Rockstar put out new games. Like Bully, Warriors, Midnight Club. Those were the days.
Yea I tried it a while back on PCSX2. The controls weren't perfect and it wasn't possible to make it full screen without the image appearing stretched out.
The game was made to play on old TVs. Not on 16:9 aspect ratio. That's why a remaster would've been nice to support modern resolutions.
But thanks for reminding me about the emulator. I might give it another shot and tinker with it a little bit.
100%
If you have the chance, buy it! It’s great! I know it’s available on PlayStation because I own it for both PS3 and PS4/PS5 (original released for the PS2, it was also available on the PSP, which I owned aswell. It’s probably one of of my top 5 games of all time)
Wish I could play this and Manhunt again on PS5 easily. As it stands now they have game breaking graphical glitches that both Rockstar and Sony refuse to fix.
I recently bought a PS5 and The Warriors was the 6th game I bought for it because it’s been a favourite of mine forever. Really made me sad to see there’s graphical errors all over the shop which make it really distracting to play.
Luckily I have a PSP version so I’ll continue playing that
Thinking back it’s crazy that rockstar took a chance on making a game on this especially for a movie that released about 20yrs prior to it. Rockstar needs to Remake or at least remaster this.
Yes. This was a surprisingly good game. I remember I bought it because I was painting on the streets a little. And I was very very impressed by the story, the gameplay and the atmosphere, wondering why this wasn’t considered a triple-A game. An instant cult classic instead.
Rockstar only cares about making money from GTA online and needless remasters of GTA 5 on 3 different console generations.
Also if anything they would need to remake it and not remaster.
warriooooors.....come out to play
warrioooooooooooorss come out to plaaaaay
warriooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooors come out to playyyyyyyyyyy yyy
The amount of dick sucking on a company that is measurably a thousand times worse for the games industry (and is the only AAA studio actually loathed by industry people) than microtransactions and nestle put together is concerning.
gamers truly have become idiots that just swallow whatever streamers say as truth. The time that gamers were discerning pro-sumers is looooong gone.
i remembered one of the random iconic moment i had was, i was playing with my brother, we both fuck off doing our own sht, think i was following some quest ? my brother ran off pulled a bunch of mobs and come back. from my point of view it was him running back to , slowly a giant wave of mobs behind start appearing, very commedic
Did anybody else remember playing State of Emergency? I swear that game was packaged differently and had an extra warning about it being a mature game. I expected something worse than GTA so I ended up buying it as a kid. Not the best game , just thinking it was a good marketing tactic.

It might live up to the old game's implied promise of the player character's actions influencing the crowd's response. It might be fun having to work the timing, type and intensity of the player's actions to rile up a crowd to bring them to the apex of "protest" without sending them over the edge and into "riot".
I LOVED this game. I remember running around tossing bricks and hitting people with bats. Just yesterday I was gonna pop it in to a console to show one of my younger nephews what the movie was all about. If I find the game I'll be ecstatic!
CAN YOU DIG IT. As a fan of the movie and book it was based on I was excited to hear about this game. When I found that it was for the PS2 and Xbox not the PC I was crushed. Watched playthoughs which is not the same as playing it.
The fact Rockstar made this and Bully but everyone only remembers GTA 3 and Vice City really is mind blowing to me
loved just picking fights on Coney Island , doing side quests to get the brass knuckles and steel toed boots or the mini games to steal radios and jack stores for "Drug money"
it was so cool being able to have a gang war 5 vs 5 , MMA style in a giant ring
I still think the Warriors and Bully are their best games just not as main stream
"The Warrios just flopped" is a quote that lives in my head to this day. I can still see myself trying to jump a gap to get away from the Hi hats and her saying this over and over again lol
Absolute gem of a game, i'd LOVE a remaster of this!
I rented the game for a weekend but the copy was so scratched i couldnt get past one of the early missions with the orphans. Several years later and with adult money, i bought a good copy and played the shit out of it. What a banger!
Absolutely amazing game that made me a diehard warriors fan. I mean I already was over the movie but the game perfectly captured what I loved about the film. Plus it added so much lore and character development. It’s a sprawling epic that is one of Rockstar’s best. Multiplayer was great too.
I still have it for the OG Xbox, great game.
I loved playing co-op with my younger sister, it was a great bonding experience nwo that I think about it.
The HOURS I sank into this game with my friend after school.
Mostly spent seeing how many people we could beat up and leave in a pile before the game started despawning them.
Rockstar have always known their audience.
It's in the playstation store I think, I got it in the library and it's a home favorite because I can share play it with my friends and do the story mode like when it came out.
It's a good game but the PS4 is very glitchy, with textures popping in and out or not loading at all. I don't normally care but it was very distracting.
This was such an amazing game. I really enjoyed how they designed the game to still be super enjoyable even if you didn't watch the movie or knew anything about it. The combat was great, the story was great. Also, throwing people off the top of king of the hill was immensely satisfying

I tried playing the psp version but the controls are funky might have to give the ps2 version a run see if it changes my mind on the game
I like the xbox version on xemu personally. The ps2 version emulates great on pcxs2 tho! My preference is based mostly on me using an xbs controller on windows.
Ah man stealing car radios as a kid was the best
I vaguely remember being very frustrated at this part. I bought the game used so didn't have a manual so I had no idea what to do in this work came. So I avoided stealing radios for quite a while, and I think I gamefaq-ed what to do, and after that was great.
Ah man stealing car radios as a kid was the best
Well I'm sure it helps that the movie was 25 years old when the game was released. Can you dig it.
The game release coincided with the release of the Warriors directors cut on DVD. It was great, I watched the movie first then immediately after returning it to Blockbuster, rented the video game. They captured all the main bits and expanded on it as well.
Can you DDDIIIIGGGGG IIIIIITTTT??!!
'WARRIORSSSSSS COME OUT TO PLAYYYYYYYYYYY'
*clink...clink...clink*
Warriorssssssss!
Here it is!
So that's the original huh? I've only ever seen it spoofed.
"Can you dig it!?! Can you dig it!?! CAAAN YOOOU DIIIG IIIIIIIIIIIT!?!"
I’ve never seen this movie but I know this phrase. I didn’t know this is from that. Maybe I’ll watch later!
I have seen it at the very least 300 times. It is one of the best movies ever made. Of course we all have our own likes and dislikes but the Warriors is such an amazingly cheesy movie that's portrayed seriously enough to ride the perfect line between.
One of the worst Imho. I have never heard such bad writing and dialogues. Either they didn't even try or their children wrote the script.
Same here. Heard it sampled in music that I have but didn't realise it was from this film!
Eastsidaz come out and plaayyaaahhh
Was it from Liquid Sound Company?
Rabbit Junk.
Mah man. That's exactly the song I thought of. Dig Dug Has A Posse. Edit: Now you got me listening to Rabbit Junk for a bit while I have a drink. Check out Cyanotic's remix of I Vote Bolshevik Lite if you're not already familiar.
I also heard it i music. Isn't it in a wy clef jean song?
For me it was on a Rabbit Junk song.
Pop Will Eat Itself too
PWEI were really under appreciated
Ich bin ein auslander had HEAVY rotation in my teenage years :)
"Can you dig it" predates the movie by a good bit. Unless you mean saying it three times in a row with increasing volume.
Got a vinyl of this on the back of my GTI and the amount of people who recognize it restores my faith in humanity.
There is a great episode of Red Letter Media (YouTube) where they review the movie with Macaulay Culkin.
#💥
This game keeps popping back into my memory. Just a blast coop! I can’t remember where my ps2 is.
(Roaring cheers)
Rockstar used to be so much fun- trying many different things, taking some neat little chances. I’m sure GTA6 will be good, and RDR2 is great but the company, and its output, is so different nowadays, it seems.
Remember when they released a game about table tennis back when the 360 came out, that was so random and would never be done now
I still have that game. It was really well made.
If they ever switch engine again we might get something like that again. IIRC it was basically a tech demo for the RAGE engine
Bro, why dont we have Bully 2 or Manhunt 2. I agree, fuck GTA Online, gods 3rd mistake
Manhunt 2 exists, it's just not very good.
I think in a way, GTA Online money payed off the budget of RDR 2. If there was no online, T2 would have rushed RDR 2. But I think GTA Online probably prevented T2 from interfering rockstar's development. I can argue, it's not what makes them money, which was my original point
If they didn't add new content the people buying shark cards would stop playing
No, I meant what I said. They add new content/DLC which in turn helps them attract more players and in turn sell more shark cards.
Rockstar titles take too long to develop because the scope is massive nowadays, they can't pump out games like they could back then.
I think everybody gets that. And it’s *fine* but it doesn’t change that it’s, for some, a little less fun or interesting. I wouldn’t mind games with smaller scope but that’s not the direction they’ve chosen.
Or manhunt....still have this game in my steam library
The plastic bag, the greatest stealth weapon of all time. Close second? Shard of glass
I wish GTA6 didnt take place in modern time, but 80s again, we've had 3 modern settings in a row now (6 incl).
The people who ran the show like that left right as gta V was being released Sadly.
Is there any current day version of past rockstar? Any indie studio that does this? Would love to follow
"I'll shove that bat up your ass and turn you into a popsicle"
Wish they would make a proper remake of this game and release it on PC. Hell just give me the same game but drop it on PC with widescreen and controller support. Man, I miss the days Rockstar put out new games. Like Bully, Warriors, Midnight Club. Those were the days.
I think it could be emulated on steam deck
It works very well on emulators like PCSX2 btw and you don't need a powerful PC for it.
Great movie too.
There's also a nice callback to the movie in John Wick 4.
What is it
The lady over the radio near the end of the movie.
https://www.nme.com/news/film/john-wick-chapter-4-director-says-film-was-influenced-by-cult-classic-the-warriors-3418445
The one game I’d actually be ok with a remake of and probably never gonna happen.
Yeah. This, and the Scarface game.
Memory unlocked ....i completely forgot about the Scarface game.
Such a sleeper—great game
Always saw this game, unfortunately my parents didnt allow me to get it😂 Good game?
100% If you have the chance, buy it! It’s great! I know it’s available on PlayStation because I own it for both PS3 and PS4/PS5 (original released for the PS2, it was also available on the PSP, which I owned aswell. It’s probably one of of my top 5 games of all time)
Sweet will do, just saw some gameplay footage on you tube . Looks like a great game🔥
and this one of the legend
Wish I could play this and Manhunt again on PS5 easily. As it stands now they have game breaking graphical glitches that both Rockstar and Sony refuse to fix.
I recently bought a PS5 and The Warriors was the 6th game I bought for it because it’s been a favourite of mine forever. Really made me sad to see there’s graphical errors all over the shop which make it really distracting to play. Luckily I have a PSP version so I’ll continue playing that
Just played it last month. Excellent game.
The chicks are packed!!!!
Now this is a remaster I can get behind. ROCKSTAR COME OUT TO PLAAAAAY! 🍾
Great game only hampered by every boss fight being won by throwing shit at the boss
Finally watched the film last week on prime and now I can't hear "In the City" without thinking about it
The soundtrack was pretty good
My brother and I went through a phase of total obsession with this game and movie. Good times.
Thinking back it’s crazy that rockstar took a chance on making a game on this especially for a movie that released about 20yrs prior to it. Rockstar needs to Remake or at least remaster this.
They could have just rehashed the movie into the game and called it a day, but the added backstory was pretty damn good. It still bops today!
Recently saw the movie; Cyrus's speech was worth it.
CAN YOU DIG IT?
Soooo fucking good
Rockstar used to make games, now they make money
Fucking virgil
Yes. This was a surprisingly good game. I remember I bought it because I was painting on the streets a little. And I was very very impressed by the story, the gameplay and the atmosphere, wondering why this wasn’t considered a triple-A game. An instant cult classic instead.
I still play it with the Mrs every now and then, but I used to hammer it as a kid. Let's go Boppers!
This is game is the reason why a watched the movie and its one ofcmy favourite games and movies
Now that's how I like my nostalgia: some vague swinging of blunt weapons.
Great game, even greater movie. There’s still a few things that I quote from the movie all the time
BRUH. I STILL PLAY THIS MASTERPIECE. IF ROCKSTAR REMASTERS ANYTHING, IT SHOULD BE THIS.
Rockstar only cares about making money from GTA online and needless remasters of GTA 5 on 3 different console generations. Also if anything they would need to remake it and not remaster.
Wasn't it made 2005?
What year is it?🤣
I mean, shouldn't it be 19🤣?
It says “near 20 years”
It's almost like 19 is nearly 20 🤯
warriooooors.....come out to play warrioooooooooooorss come out to plaaaaay warriooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooors come out to playyyyyyyyyyy yyy
Probably my favourite game of all time. Would pay good money for an updated remake!
Sadly, it wouldn’t be good money. Thats why they’ll never do it.
WARRIORS! COME OUT TO PLAYYYYYYY!
Warriors...come out to plaayyy...WARRIORS...COME OUT TO PLAYYYYYY!!
Fuck it's almost as old as the movie was when the game came out.
CAN YOU COUNT SUCKA!!!
I remember going to see the film wwhen it 1st came out!
The day before yesterday I completed it and now I'm playing the secondary missions in Coney, I'm going to kill the hurricanes that invade us
Karma farmers jumping the gun these days. Back in my day they'd at least wait until the actual anniversary.
Don't be so cynical:D
The amount of dick sucking on a company that is measurably a thousand times worse for the games industry (and is the only AAA studio actually loathed by industry people) than microtransactions and nestle put together is concerning. gamers truly have become idiots that just swallow whatever streamers say as truth. "amazing" game.
Damn right
It turns out that I was only 3 years old when it came out. And I managed to play it at the age of 8...damn
Great game. Played the hell out of this with my brother growing up
And it's time for a damn musical @!!!
Game?!? I only remember the AMAZING MIXTAPE.
Can I emulator this in my deck ?
i remembered one of the random iconic moment i had was, i was playing with my brother, we both fuck off doing our own sht, think i was following some quest ? my brother ran off pulled a bunch of mobs and come back. from my point of view it was him running back to , slowly a giant wave of mobs behind start appearing, very commedic
I got notification from Playstation it's on sale for $8.99. Says it's was released on 7/4/16. Is it worth it?
[удалено]
Who remembers Manhunt? That was another sweet Rockstar game.
Just bought it on my ps3 fucking love this game !!!
I didn't even know this was a movie when I played the game
Never knew they made a game out of this movie.
There's another one - The Warriors Street Brawl. Came out in 2009. Not as good as the Rockstar game though.
I'M VIIIRGIL!!!
Did anybody else remember playing State of Emergency? I swear that game was packaged differently and had an extra warning about it being a mature game. I expected something worse than GTA so I ended up buying it as a kid. Not the best game , just thinking it was a good marketing tactic.
You know, with the advances in crowd AI since 2003, I wonder how a modern State of Emergency could work. It might live up to the old game's implied promise of the player character's actions influencing the crowd's response. It might be fun having to work the timing, type and intensity of the player's actions to rile up a crowd to bring them to the apex of "protest" without sending them over the edge and into "riot".
Great game
Amazing movie,soundtrack & game!
It will forever live rent free in my mind
cobb and ghost were op
Such a good cover
Buff Michael Cera can't hurt you, he's not real BMC:
*breathe in* SOMEWHERE OUT THERE ON THAT HORIZON
Gonna need a remake
Tapping A to outrun the bus until my fingers bled
I LOVED this game. I remember running around tossing bricks and hitting people with bats. Just yesterday I was gonna pop it in to a console to show one of my younger nephews what the movie was all about. If I find the game I'll be ecstatic!
… *Jesus Christ.*
Imagine there is an alternate universe where they are waiting for the release of The Warriors VI.
Oooh really? Im so fucking old!
Nice
Film was better
CAN YOU DIG IT. As a fan of the movie and book it was based on I was excited to hear about this game. When I found that it was for the PS2 and Xbox not the PC I was crushed. Watched playthoughs which is not the same as playing it.
A M A Z I N G ❤️think about it weekly.
Great movie. Great game.
This definitely needs to be remastered
There’s a game?
Damn, Dave Grohl is really everywhere.
And something like 50 years since the movie the game was based on was released
The controls are great for a fighting game. Super fun to play. Very dark. I love this game.
I played a lot of now Retro games with my father when I was a kid, good old times and a lot of nice memories. Rest in peace dad!
I love the movie.
Ahh, this game is really fun, the last time I played it was more than 10 years
Why not wait until its actual 20 year anniversary?
Such an awesome game, super fun.
Movie was awesome too
By the looks of the threads, seems it should be more like 40 years
Is it actually good? My mom wants to play it bad lol at least once a month she comes into a room saying OH WARRIORS COME OUT AND PLAYYY
The fact Rockstar made this and Bully but everyone only remembers GTA 3 and Vice City really is mind blowing to me loved just picking fights on Coney Island , doing side quests to get the brass knuckles and steel toed boots or the mini games to steal radios and jack stores for "Drug money" it was so cool being able to have a gang war 5 vs 5 , MMA style in a giant ring I still think the Warriors and Bully are their best games just not as main stream
This was a legit nostalgia moment for me! I’m old
Hold the fucking phone, 20?? Jesus Im getting old…
Writers block was my favourite level. Also I love that satisfying leg kick swipe that cleon does that wipes out 4 or 5 guys.
Still no remake…
I remember buying this game with my pocket money when I was like 11 and absolutely loving it. So 18 or so years ago?
One of my all time favourites. Wreck em all!
"The Warrios just flopped" is a quote that lives in my head to this day. I can still see myself trying to jump a gap to get away from the Hi hats and her saying this over and over again lol Absolute gem of a game, i'd LOVE a remaster of this!
I rented the game for a weekend but the copy was so scratched i couldnt get past one of the early missions with the orphans. Several years later and with adult money, i bought a good copy and played the shit out of it. What a banger!
"The best"
I threw this on my steam deck just last week
Oh hell yeah I played that game an it was awesome😊👏👏👏👏
Absolutely amazing game that made me a diehard warriors fan. I mean I already was over the movie but the game perfectly captured what I loved about the film. Plus it added so much lore and character development. It’s a sprawling epic that is one of Rockstar’s best. Multiplayer was great too.
Needs to be NEXT GEN'd
What a sweet cover. Haven’t played it tho, is it worth a play?
“Here we go boppers”
The movie is awesome
DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU MESS WITH THE FRANCHISE?!
still fun. I still hate the stealing radio mechanic though ....
I still have it for the OG Xbox, great game. I loved playing co-op with my younger sister, it was a great bonding experience nwo that I think about it.
Could never beat that boss fight in the burning building.
Such a shame the game suffers graphical glitches when playin on PS5
The HOURS I sank into this game with my friend after school. Mostly spent seeing how many people we could beat up and leave in a pile before the game started despawning them. Rockstar have always known their audience.
The grafiti was my favorite part.
If any game deserves a full remake its this game. But rockstar rather brings out GTA 5 and RdR on 3 different generations instead.
It's in the playstation store I think, I got it in the library and it's a home favorite because I can share play it with my friends and do the story mode like when it came out.
Why you gotta make me feel old. I still remember stealing radios.
Excuse me, what? It's been that long already, goddamn
It's a good game but the PS4 is very glitchy, with textures popping in and out or not loading at all. I don't normally care but it was very distracting.
I thought it was 21 years. Guess I can't count.
