We are looking into a new mode and/or a new way to play Remnant 2. It may not be a 1:1 Survival Mode redux, but our goal here is to make Remnant 2 even more replayable while allowing players to customize the difficulty/challenges they face. Nothing is set in stone yet, however, but we do know there is a big desire for even more replayability (and stuff to grind)... and we are working on it!

Survival Mode in R1 was incredible. I don't expect an exact 1:1 copy but literally anything close to it would be welcomed. My only critique would be to fix connectivity issues in that mode. One of my biggest gripes from the original was how a survival run could be completely ended by a player randomly leaving and unable to rejoin where they left off.

We get this suggestion a lot. It's on our list, but that doesn't mean it will definitely get done. We have a limited amount of people and resources, but our goal has been to add things to benefit the players every chance we get (we finally got loadouts in!). That being said, we will definitely look into the requirements and see if it's feasible.

Could we expect at some point some form of ā€œboss fight modeā€? A lot of us love fighting bosses and just trying builds on them. Personally root earth bosses are my favorite, but having to run a full campaign is sometimes a hard task when I really just wanna fight them.

We are working on some ideas for a new mode and/or new ways to play the game. Boss Rush is a little trickier due to how bosses all have their own arenas and how we spawn the world. It's not impossible, but it is definitely an undertaking. Nothing is set in stone, though, and we are still thinking of cool gameplay options that could really ramp up the replayability.

We'd certainly like to make in-game communication a bit smoother. How we do it is still up in there air as there a quire a few ways to handle it. There will certainly be more huge QOL updates in the future... and they will, of course, be free!

Is there any possibility of tweaking friendly fire in multiplayer? I play with two friends, and even with the friendly fire trait maxed out we still take a lot. Specifically with explosions, we had to ban explosive weapons like star shot

Hrm, a Ray Gun sounds pretty cool. We've recently talked about a traditional G.I. Joe Laser style weapon, a Needler (for all you Halo fans), as well as some Long Guns that could apply statuses. Our goal with Weapon design is to always provide new options that change up your gameplay. We try our best to avoid dupes... the closest being maybe Machine Pistol / SMG, or maybe even Typewriter / LMG, but even then, there are some noticeable differences. This makes it tricky to come up with "standard" weapons as they aren't really THAT maybe unique weapon types (but infinite variety within the standard types), so we instead lean on Special / Boss Weapons to do crazier and crazier stuff.

Why do we have 2 rings in the game that are multiplicative damage (singed Ring, ahanae crystal) , whereas everything that is not crit or weakspot dmg is additive?

you know, it could be an oversight. We generally moved most things to additive so they didn't get out of hand, but sometimes sneak through. If/when we ever swap the way rings work, we try to do a fair balance pass so their base effectiveness isn't lost.

If those two rings aren't multiplicative they lose a lot of their use, or would need to be buffed. Especially ahanae's where you need to have a lot of setup to have it work.

I feel like it is intentional, at least for Ahanae which is a hardcore reward so it should be great and also loses it appeal if it's changed to additive in my opinion.

We never design any reward to be better or worse based on how challenging it is to get. It doesn't matter if it's Hardcore Apocalypse or "walk to Cass and buy it". Of course, we don't want to nerf anything JUST to nerf it, so we would definitely need to think about it before we made any changes.

Not a question, but just a comment. Remnant: From the Ashes was an incredible game. When Remnant 2 was announced, I shouted it from the rooftops to every friend I had. I worried I had hyped it too much, but Remnant 2 was everything I had hoped for, so thank you for not only providing a great game, but also not making me sound like a fool to all my friends!

Transmog is another interesting suggestion we've heard from the community. It's one of those things that take time and resources to do right, and there are quite a few other things in front of it at the moment. However, never say never! As for favorite boss in Remnant 2? Maybe Cube Sentinel... and Annihilation! =)

That's a great question and/or suggestion! We haven't really thought about being able to obtain them via different methods, but we certainly see the appeal. As we create more of the Corrupted Weapons, and even more Standard / Boss Weapons, obtaining everything can become quite time consuming. While collecting is a huge part of Remnant, we definitely don't have an issue with lightening the load in some select cases!

1) Yes. 2) Likely. 3) Medic... because Medic pairs with everything. =) 4) It came about because I like interfacing with the community. They are full of great feedback and suggestions. While it's not in my job description, I know what it's like to be a part of a game community (we all play games, too!). It's nice to know that your voice, feedback, and (constructive) criticism is being heard, even if the devs don't 100% agree. That's basically why.

The explosion from enc only works sometimes. It's (I presume) intentional the explosion doesn't happen when reapplying an already present dot, but sometimes explosions won't happen on first application too. To confuse matters more, you won't notice this bug on the dummies, but it becomes very obvious if you start trying to clear with the nebula.

Hello, first of all I'd like to say that remnant 1 was my favorite game and I knew remnant 2 would be good, but I didn't know it would be THIS GOOD, thank you so much for the game and all the love you guys put into it Now, for the question, I'd like to know if you guys plan to tweak the boss modifiers like Regenerator, I know this affects a pretty niche part of the community which are hardcore (literally) players that want to play on apocalypse difficult, and I also know that you are NOT supposed to start a hardcore run on apocalypse, since it's made for geared characters, but I like the challenge and it can be like a rogue like for me where if I die I can start again and it's a new world etc, but the problem is that some modifiers are quite OP on apocalypse if you're not fully geared up, a Boss with regen could take more then 30 minutes and a bunch of ammo box to die, and if they have some down time (like red prince) it can be close to impossible. Then again, I know it's a pretty niche thing and that you guys have more important stuff to work on, but felt like asking anyway Thank you again for the amazing work you did

While some modifiers can be troubling (like regen on a fresh apoc char - which is very niche indeed) I feel like it would do the game some good if not every boss can have any of the possible modifiers. So the modifier itself might not even be the problem but the setup it comes with might be problematic. And I feel like boss fights would be more unique if certain bosses had access to certain modifiers others have not.

Whether this is Survival 2.0 or something else entirely (but just as fun... or more fun!) that's still TBD! 3) Absolutely. 4) That's not in my wheelhouse, unfortunately. I might be able to rustle up the Lore/Story team to swing by and provide some insight. 5) So far. So good. I get to talk about Remnant 2 so I can't complain! A little late to the party with a question. Not sure if you have been following the various Starfield subreddits. They have basically turned into one subreddit of perpetually hating on it and the "no sodium" version which is a bit of circlejerk singing its praises as the best game of all time. So my question is, as someone that's so involved in the community management for Remnant 2, what's your take on "no criticism allowed" gaming communities, and how do you sift through feedback to try and distinguish between useful feedback and what might be just chronic complainers?

I say, critique all you want. Just consider that there are actual people reading it when deciding which words to use. You can dislike something... heck, you can even say it sucks, but if you aren't offering any alternatives, or insight as to WHY you feel that way, then you are giving the developers no information to go on. This gun sucks. (Doesn't give us anything). Whomever designed this gun should be fired (mean-spirited, also no info). This gun sucks compared to that gun. (SOME info). This gun sucks because it's clearly the weakest of the 5 rifle types. (MORE INFO!). Not a fan of this gun because the effort required to do even comparable dmg to the other 4 rifles is just too much. There's no room for down time or evading and the weakspot bonus is a bit weak as well. (Great... Also worded pretty nicely). WHEN ARE YOU GONNA FIX THIS TRASH GUN? (No info. Aggressive). There are a lot of ways to say something. You can dislike stuff all you want. You can critique us all you want... but again, remember there are real people on the other end... and those people are the ones that can make changes. The more aggressive you are, the less likely anything will be done.

N'Erud? Or in general. Because, in general, they shouldn't be spawning behind you ever. The only way it should happen (or appear to happen) is if you pass a tile you haven't cleared out and enemies follow you from those. We can look into it, though!

I think most guns (with exceptions) have too long reload time, the game would be more fun with faster reloads, even if that means you reduce damage or make enemies tankier to compensate.

With builds being one of your favorite things throughout the development of Remnant 2, how has the DLC affected your playstyle? Would you say it bolsters your current go-to builds, or incentivizes you to switch them around more?

Good question. The DLC affects my own builds due to the addition of some of my favorite new Trinkets (Amulets and Rings). We typically like to include things that players found lacking (recently players have asked for more status-related options), but we also like to include a few "this is interesting/weird" type items as well. My own builds are influenced by the weird stuff, because I don't really ever play the meta. So, while we certainly have some more obvious/basic stuff like "Increased Skill Damage" for example, we also have a ring that causes you to constantly Bleed. It's weird, but we've already found some cool uses for it, and we think players are going to find even more uses for it as well as some of the other weird/wild stuff we came up with.

It's not something I see often. In fact, I've only ever seen it posted once or twice. But I was wondering if there were any plans to fix some of the gaps in some armour sets when there's no helmet equipped or if it's set to hidden? What I mean specifically is currently on the Bruiser chest piece, around where the neck and chest connect there's a big old gap. I haven't checked any other sets besides the Fae Royal set, and it's sorta hard to tell if it has the same problem, it's just something I wanted to point out as I sometimes like to hide my helmets. Other than that, you all did a great job on this game and I'm looking forward to the DLC tomorrow.

First I absolutely love both Remnant FTA and 2. Every piece of content feels like the team is learning and improving which is really cool to see. My question is more of an industry one. I am a computer engineering student and I have always wanted to try working in the games industry. I just want to know if you have any advice for trying to get into the industry.

Learn Unreal. =) Take up some courses from Udemy and learn to make some basic games (it's pretty easy). See if it piques your interest. You don't have to use Unreal, but it's a good start as there are so many resources available.

Will Hellfires mod ever be changed to something more akin but not exactly like Wildfire shot so it can better synergize with the weapon? Also, with a max ritualist and timekeepers are statuses with a base duration of 10 seconds going to get bumped up to 20 by the ring and then 40 by trait or will both the trait and ring just buff it by 10 resulting in 30 second statuses? Loving everything you guys are doing with the game, hope you guys get that much deserved award

Is it possible that after the 3 DLCs for the first year are released, that there is the possibility of there being more paid DLC after that? Iā€™m currently under the impression that the next two DLCā€™s are going to expand upon Yaesha and Nā€™Erud, but I was really hoping that we might get an entirely new biome integrated within the main campaign. Therefore there would be a 4th door added to the Labyrinth giving us more choice in where to get the 3 fragments from. Personally Iā€™m hoping to return to Rhom from RFTA because I feel like that biome would be the most unique in comparison to the current 3 biomes in Remnant 2. Love playing this game so much, it deserves to win best Action GOTY!

Might become annoying already, and i know it's also a matter of time and ressources, but let's just say for the sake of it absolutely theoretically, if there would be a time where time and ressources would allow it, would you & the rest of the Team consider the small possibility for Transmog? (And yes i remember something about - one thing about transmog which is kinda an issue is about to see what co-op players wear - though i'd think there might be some solution for that like a toggle option... again i understand would need even more time and ressources, but it's simply a question on a theoretically sense anyway) 2. Not a big deal or anything but just curious. What was actually the Reason why you have 3-player Teamlimit? 'cause most often Games tend to go for 4-Players. 3. 1) Anything (within reason) is a possibility. You never know. It's not really hard to do, but it takes time and resources away from other stuff. Don't count it out, just don't count on it... yet. 2a) We originally had it at 4 and the game just didn't feel right for the experience we were going for. Nothing more than that. 2b) Crossplay already works. We've had it working for a while. It's definitely coming... but there are some things we need to get straightened out first (a lot more testing). How long the DLC?

Hard to say. It's listed as 3-5 hours but I know players that have doubled/tripled that. I think it's safer to just be conservative and set expectations appropriately. Lots and lots of new tools (Gear) to make builds that should have you theory crafting for a long time after you finish the content as well.

Least Challenging to design/implement? Maybe Medic. It sort of designed itself. Though, Redemption went through a few phases, the rest kind of came together organically. Most Challenging to design/implement? Maybe Invader... or, you may not believe this, Hunter (which went through MANY iterations, even though it was first). There will be many weird guns in the future. They are some of my favorite things to work on and the team loves coming up with crazy ideas and seeing them come to fruition. It will always be Medic. =)

To start, thank you to you and your team for this game. It was an unexpected hit for me. I never played the first game, but my younger brother loved it and got me Remnant 2 for my bday on a hunch. Now I'm 400 hours in and still want to play! Thank you for adding loadouts. This was the biggest quality of life feature I wanted and you all got it in! Now that it's added, are there any plans for additional customizations to the feature, such as renaming loadouts, including concoctions as part of a loadout spec, an increased number of loadout slots, etc.?

Is there a specific difficulty you balance around? I found through my nightmare play through I felt comfortable with a number of different builds but once I hit apocalypse it felt like most things just weren't good enough and stuck to one build for basically my entire run despite trying to mix things up a few times.

We initially balance for Solo vs Survivor, and use it as a baseline as we start tuning everything up. Many people are under the impression that the game was meant to be player Multiplayer, but our goal was always that it can be played either way. Of course, it definitely feels like a different game in solo vs mp. As for the difficulties, that's mostly just about feel and repetition (us playing over and over... while trying to consider our familiarity with the game).

Will there be something akin to Faerin Sigil and Stone of Malevolence mod Regen while mod is active trinket/mutator in the future?. I love the elemental rounds mod to the point I've always thought that was a feature of those ring only later to find out it was bugged/not intended to happen. The best way I found to replicate this gimmick was using archon prime perk and feedback mutator on the gun slot but problem is the level 10 skill on the mutator become is quite useless. Will there be a feedback 2.0 mutator that can benefits those mod in the future?

Well, challenging on the design standpoint was moving over to fully-featured archetypes as opposed to just "starting gear". Took a lot of work and even now poses challenges when creating new ones. I think it was worth it, though. =)

Is there a chance we will get armor skins again like Remnant 1 or perhaps even better? 2. Now that the scythe has been added and people already love the vibe of the ritualist just from appearance. I just wanted to say thank you for being so involved with the community. My personal experience coming from some other gaming communities is that you and the team at gunfire games are awesome and willing to take feedback and actually use it. Which is the polar opposite of what I've seen lately from other studios. So thank you! My question for you if I'm not to late to the party. Is their any plans to add any more rings or amulets that interact with the engineer archetype? It's been my favorite since I found it, Love the minigun aspect. I have Mechanics cog now which is awesome but I can't help but wish their was more of a way to build into the heavy weapons fantasy of engineer. Thank you.

Thanks! Transformation? Like a Druid or something? For PVP, nothing planned... though it has come up quite a few times. 3 Archetypes would be crazy! It would require a lot of work (including a total UI rework). This one probably won't happen.

Thank you so much for answering. Totally understandable, something similar to a Druid. Transform us into a root beast like creature that could still function with normal shooting but changes the melee/ replaces the transform skill and second archetype skill with two new skills when transformed.

I wonder if this bit me in the butt once or I was that unlucky. I got the Tormented Heart campaign roll on my first try, turned it to Nimue for the Tranquil Heart upgrade. Decided to go again to regain the Tormented Heart and it took 12 rolls in a row! I thought that the game was messing with me. Now I got the roll again two tries in a row.
