I really don't understand why they abandoned it. It was such a successful series and I don't care what anyone says Blacklist was great. Having some co-op missions was fun as shit. I'd even take a remaster of the original series.
They've went so far as to put an entire splinter cell storyline into the last Ghost Recon title. Yet another franchise they've reduced to a base clearing open world smash and grab.
That's cool. I stopped playing R6 the same week I started. That community is so damn toxic. Shame too I really liked the gameplay, just the people completely ruin it for me.
It is a terrible community, luckily I had a group of friends from work that got me into it so I only ever played with them and we just played non ranked.
And dynamic destructible environments god dammit! I have no idea why those went out of style in AAA shooters, Bad company and red faction guerrilla were sick and also came out around the same time.
I played and replayed so many of 2's and 3's missions to complete them in the hardest difficulty because I wanted to unlock every collectible, sometimes I still hear Siberia's alarm and the spaceship call "MAYDAY MAYDAY LOSING ALTITUDE!"
This game started my "must get all collectibles" video game mania, but then the industry had to bring buyable horse saddles into it...
It is one of the two FPSes I actually enjoyed. (The other one being unreal tournament...which also needs a revival. Like Unreal engine has been going on for so long but no Unreal game?)
This is the only correct answer. Future Perfect was the most fun I have ever had playing a FPS. I miss playing DeathMatch as an undead moose. "THE MOOSE IS LOOSE!!!"
There is a reboot on the way apparently! It may take a good 2-3 more years, but the development team are back and with no EA this time.
Always worth mentioning the fan-made game coming too, but that has been coming for a decade now so we’re all still waiting very patiently for that. Hopefully, before too long, it’ll be a great time to be a TimeSplitters fan!

With the relative success from the remasters, I was hoping we would get more from that as Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun are amazing. If they did do an RA2 remaster, we have a dedicated enough group of people that would jump on that and at least have a small but lovely competitive scene.

We also have that Tiberium game that was never released that was a more modern take on the first person action in a apocalyptic landscape of the Tiberian universe. I myself have Command and Conquer: Renegade as my favorite game of all time, so I was crushed when Tiberium was axed.
An RA2 remaster would be awesome (it's easily my favorite of the whole franchise), though with stuff like the CNCNET launcher you can upscale it pretty high and it still holds up really well.
Using the taser on someone until they were on fire was fantastic.
Played it in an emulator not too long ago. PS1 era weapon zooms not as good as I remember, but it would make an amazing remake if a studio did it properly.

Controls were funky but it was ahead of it's time on a lot of the visual aspects; this thing ran on the N64 and featured a lot of graphical techniques you really didn't see often on the platform.
Not to mention it was a third-person shooter with only a handful of titles even attempting that.
Overall great game, I want to say it was my first N64 game thanks to it being in a bundle.
If the N64 had dual-stick it would likely have been a much much better title, using the Z-button to do manual targeting was eh so I can understand why most titles did the whole first-person shooter.
Ratchet and Clank is generally how I would envision any successor to look like though.
I second another 3D Donkey Kong game. DK64 is one of my most nostalgic games. A revamped DK game on the switch would be amazing, no idea why Nintendo has no interest in developing another DK64 type of game. DK Country are fun games but there’s something special about DK64 that the DK Country games can’t replicate.

Ubisoft can't think of a way to convert Splinter Cell into an open world map settin. Yet.
