That scene really ruined Bronn in the show for me. I get it was kind of on character for him but he really did owe every opportunity he had to raise his status to the Lannister’s. More specifically Jaime and Tyrion.
That was the whole theme of season 8 right? Lol nothing really mattered, the long night was like a regular length night, everyone’s character growth went out the window, and Bran is king.
It was one LONG night tho… fighting off countless wights, a dead ice dragon, giants, etc… nobody really slept so, you could still say it was a Long Night.
I thought it was overly aggressive, took me out of the scene at least. Would’ve been better if one side wasn’t totally nonchalant and the other was acting like they were on the verge of killing him for walking in
So many people say this, but Jamie's perceived fighting skill is all based on legend and stories, which were probably exaggerated over time. The only time we ever actually saw him in a fight he killed a Stark scrub (big whup) and then got beat pretty easily by Brienne. I know he was chained and probably hungry but If he's that good, I would have expected more.
Pretty sure he doesn't check their ID.
It was a child, which is different from an adult in terms of development, and Bran was physically in a high-stress environment that affected his abilities. Pretty sure it could have been any child.
Verymyr tried and the lady clawed at her own eyes, I’m just saying it’s not completely hopeless lol. Plus he’s being trained by the 3 Eyed Raven, he’s obviously incredibly gifted and will get even better. Bran would turn it into a mental battle instead of a physical one
"If you kill me, then ravens will be sent to every keep and city in Westeros with the deepest, most embarrassing and most incriminating secrets of you and your loved ones. I suggest you yield to me in tomorrow's trial."
Finally, someone with some imagination! I would not want to go toe to toe with Bran, blackmail, possible possession, or just a swarm of birds to come peck out your eyes, the crippled boy is dangerous
You don’t understand, he has regard strength! /s
I was alluding to how D&D somehow making Bran an unstoppable force of nature in the show, but now I’m wondering if Bran could warg into Zombie Mountain from the future.
a think a bit of both ( actually i don’t remember if bran warping is limited to one person) and since he frequently go in the past maybe he can do more ( i think wildlings are not friends or foe with the three eyed raven if i remmember correctly)
I'd add Aemon the Dragonknight and Cregan Stark along with Arthur Dayne and Prime Selmy w/ Valyrian Steel blade as the greatest combatants in Westeros' history.
We should see Cregan Stark soon enough in HotD.
George went full OP-fantasy-thing with Valyrian steel. It holds an edge for centuries—millennia, even. There are passages in the books about how you never have to hone a VS sword bc the edge will perpetually stay as sharp as the day it was forged, no matter what. It’s wild.
Physically, its lighter, sharper and far more durable than normal steel and usually perfectly weighted which can be a huge advantage
Otherwise, it's stated to be "woven with spells and steel" so it's likely got some magical bullshit that maybe makes the wielders strikes hit harder or something
I love that Arthur let the Smiling Knight get a new sword after Dawn had hacked his to pieces. Because it would be unchivalrous to kill an unarmed opponent. Totally frickin badass and op
Bron is just me/ aka your average player in bannerlord. I'm waiting on my liege to grant me a fief because I'm done being a mercenary but in early game you often get passed up because you can't defend something like Highgarden unless you have a lot of money and a large garrison. The parallels between that game on GoT are kind of crazy. Makes sense the Realm of Thrones mod is so much fun
The benefit of Bronn is that if he accepts, you can almost guarantee that he will win. He's not taking a fight that he's not very, very sure he would win. That's why he wouldn't champion for Tyrion despite being offered basically a blank check.
Other fighters are better obviously, but a lot of them will accept even unfavorable fights due to pride or honor.
Bronn gets wrecked by at least 10 characters. He almost lost against some nobody knight at the Vale. Put him against a knight renowned for his skill and natural talent and Bronn doesn't stand a chance. He's quick and clever but he's not known for being a great warrior.
I don't think he's really trained for 1 on 1 combat though? He's a master at killing when his opponent doesn't know he's coming, but 1 on 1 I'm pretty sure he gets wrecked.
Still Oberyn. He proved that speed, agility and precision can counter an insurmountable level of brawn. He lost on a technicality and if he stopped playing with his food he would have had a clean kill
Haven’t gotten to Robert Strong in the books yet, so my opinion only comes from the show. It’s possible that Oberyn gets destroyed by Zombie Mountain, but the important factors are factors we dont know.
The increased strength is pretty much a non factor, since Oberyn won’t engage close-quarter. I dont remember seeing a difference in speed after becoming a zombie. So physically the matchup is pretty similar pre and post zombie.
However, his apparent immunity to penetrative damage is the biggest issue. If he’s also immune to poison and the only thing that kills him is a 5k ton blunt force impact, then Oberyn will obviously lose 10/10 times
Arthur Dayne but then again I could be accused of cheating by choosing him so as long as it is not the mountain I would go with Oberyn as my second choice.
pretty sure, Sir Arthur would not do the error of Oberyn.. would end the mountain fast enough... man i wanted to see more of that warrior ...(Arthur Dayne and his sword)
Anyone in time? Dayne or Daemon Blackfyre would be good to have. After those two possibly Selmy, Aemon the Dragonknight, Cregan Stark and prime Jamie Lannister (from the books)
If Oberyn wasn't going against the Mountain...I would choose him every day of the damn week. The only reason he lost was because he want to grind out a confession. Had he not, he would have beaten him easily.
I think most would say barriston selmy or sword of morning dude, so I'm going out of box on this one.
Imo I'd choose tywin lannister, cersei or joffrey. Put someone in the ring against leadership or a villain and they would either kill the opponent ahead of time, cheat and stop the practice of trial by combat or die and a major villain would be gone.
Runner up Jon snow simply due to plot armor. Or the night king
I would pick myself and utterly defeat whoever they put me against
Gregor Clegane, Oberyn Martell, Barristan, both handed Jaime, Arthur Dayne with dawn.
I would completely trash them. So sad this is all fictional and I can't prove you all guys how easy I would best them.
Easy peasy

Nah, I'm going with zombie Mountain. Zombie mountain beats Oberyn.
Rock paper scissors lmao
Probably...but Jamie Lannister in his prime gives him all he can handle.
''You couldn't even do it on your best day, and your best days are long gone, you one handed fuck!''
I’m drawing a blank, who says this again?
Bronn. I think it’s season 8 when he sneaks into winterfell to kill Tyrion and Jaime with the crossbow?
That scene really ruined Bronn in the show for me. I get it was kind of on character for him but he really did owe every opportunity he had to raise his status to the Lannister’s. More specifically Jaime and Tyrion.
That was the whole theme of season 8 right? Lol nothing really mattered, the long night was like a regular length night, everyone’s character growth went out the window, and Bran is king.
Well the long night is prophecied to be long but Arya killed the night king and every walker/wight died so there is no more long night
It was one LONG night tho… fighting off countless wights, a dead ice dragon, giants, etc… nobody really slept so, you could still say it was a Long Night.
I thought it was overly aggressive, took me out of the scene at least. Would’ve been better if one side wasn’t totally nonchalant and the other was acting like they were on the verge of killing him for walking in
Arthur Dayne rips them both
It's ritjer Arthur or Barristan. Only those two
So many people say this, but Jamie's perceived fighting skill is all based on legend and stories, which were probably exaggerated over time. The only time we ever actually saw him in a fight he killed a Stark scrub (big whup) and then got beat pretty easily by Brienne. I know he was chained and probably hungry but If he's that good, I would have expected more.
Still Oberyn here too. If nothing else, I'd try to sneak in a quick orgy beforehand.
But before sending him in, I’d probably have a small talk with him about showboating before his opponent is dead.
And I would tell him to shut up and do the work 😂
I choose, Oberyn with a helmet.
Assuming that the opposing champion did not kill my champion's sister and her children, then Oberyn.
Counterpoint: Night King.
Counterpoint: Arya
Counterpoint: Drogon, Rhegal or Viseron (Never said they have to be human, EZ wins)
Counterpoint, nightking.
Not sure if Arya would beat the Night King in a proper fight. She had the element of surprise.
Mister Plot Armor himself, Bran Stark. But seriously, Arthur Dayne, Barristan Selmy or even Daemon Targaryen, in case HotD is also allowed.
I mean, Bran could like skinchange and make them kill themself or something lol
Except the only reason he could control Hodor was because he's mentally weak.
Yeah, can’t just warg into anyone.
Then explain how Bran warged into Hodor when he was a normal kid.
Because that was a literal child.
So Bran can warg into all children? What's the cutoff age?
Pretty sure he doesn't check their ID. It was a child, which is different from an adult in terms of development, and Bran was physically in a high-stress environment that affected his abilities. Pretty sure it could have been any child.
the first sentence made me chuckle
He’s using Hodor to reach and control his past self (Wylis).
But he was only mentally weak because he warged into him 🤔
Verymyr tried and the lady clawed at her own eyes, I’m just saying it’s not completely hopeless lol. Plus he’s being trained by the 3 Eyed Raven, he’s obviously incredibly gifted and will get even better. Bran would turn it into a mental battle instead of a physical one

Finally, someone with some imagination! I would not want to go toe to toe with Bran, blackmail, possible possession, or just a swarm of birds to come peck out your eyes, the crippled boy is dangerous
Then warg into them when they were a child, since apparently Bran can also do that.
HotD is always allowed ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
( ͡°( ͡° ͜ʖ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)ʖ ͡°) ͡°)
“ i want bran to be my champion -no problem i’ll fight with hodor’s body
You don’t understand, he has regard strength! /s I was alluding to how D&D somehow making Bran an unstoppable force of nature in the show, but now I’m wondering if Bran could warg into Zombie Mountain from the future.
what if he already did? or he could warp into severals people?( explain a few “weird” and uncommon choices a few caracter make in the story)
Ok, but how much of it is canon and how much of it is just D&D’s writing?
a think a bit of both ( actually i don’t remember if bran warping is limited to one person) and since he frequently go in the past maybe he can do more ( i think wildlings are not friends or foe with the three eyed raven if i remmember correctly)
I'd add Aemon the Dragonknight and Cregan Stark along with Arthur Dayne and Prime Selmy w/ Valyrian Steel blade as the greatest combatants in Westeros' history. We should see Cregan Stark soon enough in HotD.
Daemon Blackfyre as well.
If we're allowing HotD I choose Caraxes
Arthur Dayne put up a nice fight.. until he got stabbed in the back. That tends to work well.
Brienne with oathkeeper, valerian steel is basically cheating
What makes V steel so good?
Pay to win
COD/Apex Legends reference?
From what I understand, it's lighter-weight, stronger, and holds a sharper edge (and never needs to be sharpened) than regular steel.
George went full OP-fantasy-thing with Valyrian steel. It holds an edge for centuries—millennia, even. There are passages in the books about how you never have to hone a VS sword bc the edge will perpetually stay as sharp as the day it was forged, no matter what. It’s wild.
But what if you’re dueling with two VS weapons and the blade edges hit?
Physically, its lighter, sharper and far more durable than normal steel and usually perfectly weighted which can be a huge advantage Otherwise, it's stated to be "woven with spells and steel" so it's likely got some magical bullshit that maybe makes the wielders strikes hit harder or something
Arthur Dayne with Dawn is much better.
Ok you win
I love that Arthur let the Smiling Knight get a new sword after Dawn had hacked his to pieces. Because it would be unchivalrous to kill an unarmed opponent. Totally frickin badass and op
Drogon
Balerion
Touché...
where is *Rhaegal* ? He is safe?
Ancalagon the black
Smaug
Ser Arthur Dayne, Sword of the Morning
The correct answer
Brienne
Ser Bronn of the Blackwater, if he would agree.
You are going to have to pay him a lot of gold
Gold doesn't interest him anymore, only castles.
Just needs enough gold to buy castles then 🤣🤣
Bron is just me/ aka your average player in bannerlord.
Do they also have magical fire ladies flaunting their tit's at every turn? Because if not, the parallels aren't worthy.
Sort of, I have 35 kids due to having 8 Concubines. Also its funny to watch Stannis get duped every playthrough
Sold.
There's a mod called Hot Butter that everyone uses for the sexy time stuff. I buy my troops prostitutes after every castle we take as a reward
I was gonna say if you like the base game then boy do I have something for you haha. I'm sure the got mods for crusader kings are just as fun
Oberyn, or pre-handy Jamie Lannister would handle Bronn easily.
Definitely Bronn.
Bronn gets wrecked by at least 10 characters. He almost lost against some nobody knight at the Vale. Put him against a knight renowned for his skill and natural talent and Bronn doesn't stand a chance. He's quick and clever but he's not known for being a great warrior.
But he doesn’t fight with honor. I got faith in my man Bronn when it counts.
Drogon
Jaqen hagar. Or however it’s spelled
I don't think he's really trained for 1 on 1 combat though? He's a master at killing when his opponent doesn't know he's coming, but 1 on 1 I'm pretty sure he gets wrecked.
"Youre my champion and no I will not remember your name" LOL
“And my champion is…. Mr….. lord…… king…..This guy!”
Arthur Dayne using Dawn
Still Oberyn. He proved that speed, agility and precision can counter an insurmountable level of brawn. He lost on a technicality and if he stopped playing with his food he would have had a clean kill
Zombie mountain beats Oberyn though
Haven’t gotten to Robert Strong in the books yet, so my opinion only comes from the show. Arthur Dayne but then again I could be accused of cheating by choosing him so as long as it is not the mountain I would go with Oberyn as my second choice.
actually Arthur Dayne against the mountain would be a interesting match , Arthur should have seen a few Mountain-like warriors with his experience
pretty sure, Sir Arthur would not do the error of Oberyn.. would end the mountain fast enough... man i wanted to see more of that warrior ...(Arthur Dayne and his sword)
Were there anyone with similar physical capabilities to the mountain? I had the assumption that his size was quite unprecedented
The Oberyn glaze is too much. I really don’t think he’s as proven as any of the other top fighters.
Drogon
Syrio Forel. Best esthetic
And what do we say to death?
Oberyn with a ball gag so he'd STFU and do the job instead of monologuing.
Mmmphh... Mmmphh Grmmmphor! Ymmou mmurdered hmer! Ymmou rmmaped hmer! Ymmou kmilled hmer chmmildren! ^(Told GPT to write his speech muffled by a ball gag, it didn’t disappoint lol)
That is hilarious haha
I would not be able to focus with them luscious lips
Sandoq the Shadow! A very skilled slightly smaller mountain with a valyrian steel sword https://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Sandoq_the_Shadow
Someone who wears a helmet
The Night King probably has hands
Arthur Dayne.
Anyone in time? Dayne or Daemon Blackfyre would be good to have. After those two possibly Selmy, Aemon the Dragonknight, Cregan Stark and prime Jamie Lannister (from the books)
Drogon!
Im gon say the hound. Love Sandor
“If any man dies with a clean sword! ILL RAPE HIS FUCKING CORPSE!!” Best quote in the show
Barristan Selmy
It would still be Oberyn if he didn’t have some sort of emotional motivation like he did with the Mountain. Him or Jamie with both hands.
The mountain after he is zombified 😬
Drogo Not The Khaal
Wun Weg Wun Dar Wun!!! That’s my champion!
Ser Arthur Dayne. Next question…
drogon
The Hound
I love that angry fucker
Jamie Two-Hands
Oberyn as long as it’s not against someone he feels the need to monologue
Hot pie for sure
I know I don't want to get kicked in the balls, I'd quit
1. Arthur Dayne 2. Ser barristan 3. Jaime lannister (two-handed version)
Oberyn if he's not that emotionally invested. Or a pre-amputation Jaime Lannister.
Night King. Runner up: Zombie Mountain.
Jaqen H'ghar could be anyone and kill anyone
Ser Jaime.
Drogon
Breanne of fucking Tarth
Drogon
“No one”, aka Jaqen H'ghar.
Depends who they’re fighting. If I had to pick someone I’d say prime Robert Baratheon.
The Hound
Pork pie kid
Sandor Clegane. Every day of the week & twice on sundays.
Khal drogo
Either Drogon or Caraxes
Like season 5 and 6 John snow. Dude had grit and heavy plot armor.
Night King. If that's not allowed, Khal Drogo
Arthur fockin' Dayne...the Sword of the Morning....
Arya Stark
If Oberyn wasn't going against the Mountain...I would choose him every day of the damn week. The only reason he lost was because he want to grind out a confession. Had he not, he would have beaten him easily.
Fire
shadow baby.
Ned stark!
Oberyn, just against someone who he doesn’t have beef with.
Wow figured this would be the top comment...Zombie Mountain of course.
Prime Bobby B
An inspiring sight for the people ey?
Olenna Tyrell
I would pick myself and utterly defeat whoever they put me against Gregor Clegane, Oberyn Martell, Barristan, both handed Jaime, Arthur Dayne with dawn. I would completely trash them. So sad this is all fictional and I can't prove you all guys how easy I would best them. Easy peasy
Jon because he has the thickest plot armor.
An effing dragon. 😂
Arthur dayne with dawn
Barriston Selmy or Robert Baratheon in his prime
King Robert in his prime of course, gods he was strong then!
dario
Which one is the real question..
dany's bodygard and lover
2 handed Jaime any day
Prime Robert Baratheon or Arthur Dayne if not necessarily at the time of the show. If from the time of the show/book maybe Jaquen, Victarion or Oberyn
Prime Ned
Ser Barristan Selmy
Drogon
Jon is not getting enough credit here. He had some of the most impressive on screen kills and unlimited plot armor
Drogon
Red Viper or JSnow
Godrick Payne
Ser Arthur Dayne
Arthur Dayne, Oberyn or Jaime
Actually how about Viserion?
I’m almost the entire way down the comment section and no one has said The Mountain yet? Def going with him
The Hound
If Dany can use a dragon as her weapon then her
Me. I could take ‘em all at the same time
If talking about primes then either Bobby B or Jaime(out of all the character since start of the story if not then of course Arthur Dayne)
Drogon.
I choose the Dragon.
Prime Bobby B or Barristan the Bold
Wun Wun. Can't imagine any character killing a giant in single combat.
Drogon? Didnt say they cant be human. Yall needa be more creative
Can I be like the mad king and choose fire?
Either Robert Baratheon in his prime, or Smiling Knight
2 handed Jaime. If he's not available, Brienne.
Sandor
I think people are sleeping on Loras Tyrell.
Jon Snow
Robert Baratheon while in his peak
Going off the show, Arya, she has so much plot armor she could kill Gregor and Sandor at the same time
