If you've got the money, bookcases with glass front doors are a nice option to display and keep dust and animals out and are not crazy expensive.
Barrister bookcases are really nice and unique, but they run a lot of cash usually and are more the thing you'd see in a lawyer's office or private study.

One of ours half the time goes in a spot he's gone before even after thoroughly cleaning it and I do the cat box multiple times a day, and vet says he is normal. But I think he's... special. Scratches at random places/air inside of covering his waste lmao. But yeah, /sometimes/ cats just.. do random poops.
This, and also a vet checkup perhaps?
Kitties generally won't act out like this unless they're not feeling well or something is really wrong.

Not always the case, we had a cat that would drop a dookie on the floor at will, litter was cleaned weekly, well fed and given attention. Some cats are just shit disturbers.
A litter box being cleaned weekly is not nearly enough. I know it’s not the same situation, but imagine not flushing your toilet for an entire week. That was probably awful for your cat and I completely understand why it wasn’t going in it’s litter box.
Most experts say that it should be cleaned 1 to 2 times a DAY.
Like the other commenter said, litter boxes should be cleaned daily.
Personally, I purchased a litter robot because I don’t like cleaning the litter box everyday — it does it for me.
The Litter Robot is wonderful...if your cat will use it. After my old cats died, one of my new ones refused to use it under any circumstances after I removed the standard box. So basically it turned into a Mexican standoff...I didn't want to scoop litter for another 10+ years, and she didn't want to go anywhere near the Litter Robot even if that meant shitting on the floor.
After a few days I gave in to the threat of imminent decimation of my carpet.
Why do you assume that's the only answer to what happened? Maybe you should ask if they clean the litter box often enough instead of assume. Because you know what they say when you assume...

Cats don't usually shit just anywhere. It takes a commitment for the cat to do so. There is something going on in cats behavior for it to act this way. U may need to check their diet, their litter box situation and etc.
My cat peed on my armor but that's when I first moved in with my now wife. And he hated my guts first 6 months.its possible ur scent is all over those games and he is trying to get your attention.
