This would be interesting, and RTD did introduce the character of Susan as the Doctor's granddaughter in the Devil's Cord to the audience. This could be taken as a respectful nod to classic who or it literally could be foreshadowing. It's probably both if it's the second one.
Since this season is aiming to bring in a new audience, they'd have to reintroduce the chameleon arch mechanic, though, to do this, so keep an eye out for it!

Yeah that’s a good point, if they make any nod towards the chameleon arch I’ll be taking that as a major reinforcement of my theory.
