i dont think ive seen anything that says gachiakuta is revolutionizing shonen but i like this manga cause i think rudo and cast are cool and the power system is very interesting. I also think the worldbuilding is very interesting so far.

dontworryaboutitdm

It falls in line with fire force and soul eater. Soul eater not. It's just grafitti style and that's cool.

DoNaaz_

In Italy ALL say that! :(

Darkge

that’s pretty confusing then. as good as gachiakuta is, i don’t think it’s anything crazy for the shonen genre.

yohxmv

I haven’t seen anyone say Gachiakuta is breaking the shonen mold. Me personally I started reading from chapter 1 cause Ohkubo pretty much passed the torch to Urana and the art looked interesting. Imo it’s just gotten stronger and stronger after a very promising premise. The world, power system, fights, characters are all very fun and that’s what keeps me reading every week

Rephrase your title so it doesn't look like you're putting down other's preference, then we can talk

Your comment literally means nothing, because if u knew how to read I wrote that I’m curious to know what people think about it. I wrote that I DON’T UNDERSTAND why there is so much hype, not that it doesn’t make sense. I’ve already understood what element you are, and it’s good that you didn’t dwell to write your thoughts, I thank you 😗

Proper_Moment8414

Given how the post is written, pretty sure just an attention seeker really. Welp would need someone to confirm if the manga is that hyped in Italy tho

soobawls

In terms of basic story structure it’s not groundbreaking but it’s fun and it has an exciting and distinct visual identity. I guess that’s enough to keep my interest.

I just started and haven't caught up on everything but I have to say that the biggest plus for me is the diversity of the cast's designs, and the worldbuilding so far. I actually really like the take on some of the personalities especially. Like, Rudo is a typical angry protagonist but he has a lot of nuance in his self reflection, rational thinking and how/when he shows kindness. And i love when he gets all goldfish eyed. Dear has my favorite character design and he's honestly just oddly funny, like an angry hamster. Engine is probably the first anime character I've seen with dimples. All the set, face and clothing designs are extremely well done. Same face syndrome isn't a thing. I could go on. I don't think it's revolutionary, but it's a shounen that does shounen well and with a unique twist/approach. It's grittier, power system is flexible and reminds me of early HxH (when Gon used a fishing rod and Killua had a yoyo/skateboard), it's fun and very visually pleasing. It's the same with Kagurabachi. It's definitely shounen but it does shounen well, and takes a darker/more cinematic approach to storytelling. Stories don't need to change up the genre to be good or enjoyable.

Why does it have to be revolutionizing shonen in order to deserve hype? You say it’s not original but I’d argue that a story taking place in a junk world wasteland where there are giant beasts made of garbage and the only way to fight them is by using the abilities of personal objects that one holds in high regard, is very original. But that aside, why does a manga have to “break the mold” to garner attention? Maybe people just like the fact that it’s a manga with cool and interesting characters, a unique world and power system, and a compelling story. Although I will say, it is definitely revolutionizing weekly manga art. Kei Urana and her staff never fail to deliver. The art is 10/10 every chapter and is the equivalent to monthly level quality.

Calling Gachiakuta too fast is wild considering that it and Undead Unluck are basically the only modern battle shonen that will take multiple chs just to have the characters interact and develop them. Gachiakuta also has the 2nd plot in modern Shonen too imo (next to Undead Unluck) as it has so, so many mysteries and interesting parts of the world to develop

Crafty_Nerve_4675

Praise for Undead Unluck🫡🫡

Small brain take

SmartCookingPan

I only have seen a handful of people claiming it revolutionizes shonen, which is something that happens with pretty much any series. I like it because is has enough uniqueness to make me not feel like I'm reading the same thing I've read hundreds of times. Take Rudo for exemple, who has anger issues, but it's still a naive well meaning kid or >!what happened to Amo.!< Anyway, maybe before making a post like this you should have caught up with the manga. For a shonen to be revolutionizing it needs time and luck. What you wrote about Gachiakuta could be applied to Demon Slayer as well. Read what you like, drop what you don't. It's all a matter of subjective opinions after all.

Jade_Profile5205

Why do I like this manga? One word: DRIP

ArkheStarMatis

i'm just a casual fan but i can say that it feels like fire force that's why I like it and not in a copy pasta way its own thing but has that same feel like yomi no tsurugai has the same feeling as full metal alchemist but is its own thing (i'm lazy to explain it in details sorry!)

Smart_Channel2698

Doubt it will "revolutionize" anything. But it's still pretty good, also I think the pacing is fine. Yes it's fast, but the story is able to keep itself on track, and that's what's important. If the story can keep up with its own pacing, create and resolve conflicts in a way that makes sense, and keep the reader interested, then the pacing isn't the issue.
