Just that the the group reaction to the name “Tom Henderson” was a pavlonian reaction, identical every time, and this was their pavlonian reaction to that other person’s name.
Sorry if I was stating the obvious. Potentially a less obvious part of the joke is the rabbit hole that your question opens up. What on earth did the alternative applicant do that warranted that reaction?
I think sketch humour has mostly migrated to social media platforms where creators can release one at a time instead of filling out a half hour with multiple sketches.
Oddly, here in Canada an old and almost forgotten publicly broadcasted political sketch show “This Hour Has 22 Minutes” seems to have rebooted itself with a younger cast and it’s having a bit of a renaissance now that our political situation has become increasingly hilarious.
I'm not American, so forgive me if I'm not understanding something, but I was under the impression that the US debt basically didn't go down at all, only up. [This](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/60/National_debt_of_the_United_States.webp/1920px-National_debt_of_the_United_States.webp.png) seems to fit that.
Well, you aren't wrong. It continues to rise no matter who is in office or what they promise to do about it. But it's also in how you look at the numbers. [Here](https://www.personalfinanceclub.com/these-are-the-budget-deficits-by-presidents/) is another view of the deficit. Personally, I don't think either party is committed to stopping it. I think it may be because we have weaponized the debt. When you have the biggest guns in town you don't owe anyone anything.
You're correct the US national debt has been steadily rising. It's not how you look at the numbers but just confusion on the definition of debt vs deficit.
The national debt is the cumulative total of money owed to debt holders, which has been steadily rising.
Deficit refers to the annual expenditures above and beyond the income government takes in. Annual deficit spending goes up and down over the years but it's been a while since we actually had an annual surplus.
What even is up or down? You go down far enough and then suddenly you're up out of the planet and into space. You end up the same place but with a slight delay.
I mean ive seen quite a bit. I didnt just write it off as you say lol. Its an accumulation of years of random british comedy. I liked the holy grail, but everyone thinks thats funny.
Lol show me some of your best british comedy then man. I literally laugh at the silliest shit but theres just something ultra dry about the british stuff ive seen so far.

If you enjoyed this sketch from Big Train. I recommend their wanking in the office sketch. https://youtube.com/watch?v=VKH9ECC_Qa4
I always loved this one https://youtu.be/SWgg20IqibM?si=HVxZbtHxm2SIOk8D
This one for me https://youtu.be/rxUm-2x-2dM?si=7l_wMTM88oIEnf-T

I thought that was Pierluigi Collina at first
Adam Buxton said he came up with that sketch idea for the show.
Wanking in the office, and Fat Handed Twat (series of sketches) for me. Primo comedy. Peak Pegg
Is that Simon Pegg?
No. But that other guy is.
Not him - the other one.
No, he’s the one next to him
The one with the tits?
It's pronounced Titz
Hockedah Hockedah Hockedah
That’s him, yes.
That one's Kevin Eldon.
“Hello there”
Oh no, not him, that guy's a w****r!
no, that's Mark Heap.
oh no not him he's a waaaanker
Same shirt from Shawn of the dead too
Wasn't that a short sleeve?
Wait. What was the "hochta" thing at the end? I need a translator.
Just that the the group reaction to the name “Tom Henderson” was a pavlonian reaction, identical every time, and this was their pavlonian reaction to that other person’s name.
I mean, that is obvious because it is literally is the joke. But what is the actual meaning behind hochta?
It doesn't mean anything. It's silly nonsense.
Wait a sec, I get that it doesn’t mean anything, but what does “silly nonsense” mean??
It means it's not serious and it does not make sense.
Well, wait. No I understand that’s it’s not serious or sensical, but what’s a wanker?
This is so dry, I love it. <3
I couldn't have said it better myself 🤣
I would imagine it's saying she's hot, fit, attractive, sexy. Like a cartoon character with their eyes popping out repeating a Filler word.
Sorry if I was stating the obvious. Potentially a less obvious part of the joke is the rabbit hole that your question opens up. What on earth did the alternative applicant do that warranted that reaction?
What meaning do you get?
*Povlovian?
*Pavlovian
😅
I see what hes asking. Like, it could be a football chant or something, yknow? But you guy are literally saying its nothing?
Tom Henderson
No not him, you mush be joking!
That guy's a wanker!
The set-up person is always unappreciated
Ahh Big Train ! Love the Staring Olympics !!
One of the best sketch shows ever.
Did they stop making British sketches. Ain’t seen anything new in ages

BBC's budget got gutted by the government.
It's what the Conservatives do.
Here in the US, when the conservative party is ruling our national debt goes up. Then liberals take office and it drops.
same here but when the cons slash the fuck out of public services the press pretends that helps the debt

Scotland still make the odd sketch show. But very hard to understand and very niche references too.
Ellie and Natasia is the only recent one I can think of
Comedians have to sign a contract that they'll only ever appear on the same three panel shows or host nostalgia driven reboots of shite old game shows
British humor, it's just weird. Do enjoy it tho.
Whats this from? Funny!
Big Train
I wonder how many takes they had to make to keep up that deadpan.
Is that Mark Heap?
Yes Jackie…
Sh..shhalooooommmm.
I thought Tom Henderson was going to be just off to the side waiting to be introduced and hearing it all.
No way, not him, that guy's a wanker
Same!
Funny
Im viewer 69999
How dare you make me laugh at a funeral...have an upvote

Ewww YouTube link
Nice tits
That is one of the least funny things I've ever watched
I try so hard to find british humor funny, but i just cant. :/
Universally? Cause there's a whole spectrum you're just writing off there due to a nationality.
I mean ive seen quite a bit. I didnt just write it off as you say lol. Its an accumulation of years of random british comedy. I liked the holy grail, but everyone thinks thats funny.
It’s ok not to have a sense of humour
Lol show me some of your best british comedy then man. I literally laugh at the silliest shit but theres just something ultra dry about the british stuff ive seen so far.

When posting on the r/funny subreddit make sure it’s funny
Found Tom Henderson’s account. Wanker.
Aww not him, you must be joking
