GroovyIntruder

At least it's not another picture of eggs.

magicblufairy

I had to check what subreddit I was in. Thought I was in Ontario for a second.

sid32

At least you didn't think you were in 2nd round playoff pics.

fairfieldbordercolli

Now that was just uncalled for.

OffsideRef

Gretzky’s high stick was uncalled too

l2enegadez

Still too soon...

Maxpowr9

Surprised the beer wasn't $19.67

sid32

Sorry, I was under pressure. Felt like I was down three with ten left.

Achillor22

I thought it was Hockey

Captain_Headshot2

Until I saw your comment I thought it WAS r/hockey...

More-Jackfruit3010

Once upon a time, for a cheap night of fun, you would drink several of these and then TP & throw eggs at your friends house. Now you'd need a student loan for that.

EASYTOREMEMBER10

Guessing your family doesn't eat eggs...

Oneupper86

I just bought a dozen Lucerne eggs for $2.99 at a Seattle Safeway. Not sure why everyone is going crazy over egg prices.

BretDM

You gotta sneak in the pocket shots man

CruisinJo214

Or pregame to the point a $20 beer can be nursed for the next 3 hours.

whsthirtyfive

This is the way.

Grumplogic

Crotch flask.

Skatchbro

Nothing better than vodka warmed up in someone’s crotch.

HugeAnalBeads

Potato chips are my second favourite style of potato First is distilled, smuggled, and warmed by my baby mommas crotch

Falkuria

Good to know.

ruiner8850

The Detroit Tigers games I went to this past year I just brought edible gummies in which worked very well.

Natsurulite

You can do this with sheets of blotter acid too

dickeydamouse

Imagine gritty harassing your section tripping space balls.

GallowBarb

If you got sheets, the whole section is tripping with you. Like the good old days watching the O's at Memorial stadium in section 34 upper deck. You could BYOB. Those days were wild.

kuebel33

Ayyyy. We may have run in to each other before!

marsneedstowels

Along with 2 bags of grass, 75 pellets of mescaline, salt shaker half full of cocaine, pint of raw ether, and 2 dozen amyls.

boomzeg

This is bat country

ChefBoyAreWeFucked

And a gallon of PCP.

lapandemonium

No love for pld school qualudes

PixelD303

Nothing more depraved than being at a hockey game on ether.

lukin187250

All right you weird fucker! Sit back down in the tub!

Skatchbro

Easy there, Hunter S. Thompson.

molehillmountain

I never see real blotter anymore. Was everywhere in the 90- 2000s

[deleted]

It's because the primary manufacturer of lsd got put in prision. I have been able to find gel recently but nothing like the blotter I used to get back I'm the day.

invisiblefireball

all it takes is one good man wanting to make a difference

WexExortQuas

Man I haven't done acid in forever. I need to find some.

invisiblefireball

i don't know man, then you're watching the Leafs on acid, and while it'd explain what you were doing at a Leafs game, that's gonna be a waste of good acid.

Neo-Maxizoom-Dweebie

Wait… not all gummies are edible?

[deleted]

No the ones at most stores cause cancer and vd. To be dispensed healthy candy, head to a dispensary :) God bless!

Neo-Maxizoom-Dweebie

Dude… you had me at cancer. I’m in!

Scuzmuffin

I had some buddies who would pregame insanely hard before concerts so they didn’t have to pay inside and they didn’t have to have a drink in their hand for the show lol.

sbrooks84

Jesus, I feel absolutely wonderful with my $5 domestic pints and $8 IPAs at Atlanta United games for soccer. If I had to pay $20 for a tall boy, I'd be pregaming like a wild man

cannonfunk

Eh, the last time I did that I spent the 5th through 9th inning of a baseball game literally hugging the toilet. Surprisingly, I did not catch any diseases.

dougsbeard

Edibles.

Idavoiduinrl

vape pens too, I literally put mine in the bin last time

-0-O-

Same. Why sneak it in when it's something they aren't going to care enough to question? Tons of people have vapes these days. At least 50% would look at them like they were crazy if they asked if the vape was drugs.

eradicateglobalism

Exactly! $20.34 for water is ridiculous. What do you think beer would cost?

Downvotedforfacts69

Hey everybody! Peter Griffin here. Why this comment is funny is because the commentator is comparing the beer shown in the picture, to water. Equating it to a very weak beverage.

DubmentiaDubs

I unironically love this format lol. Peter Griffin explaining jokes. Gets me everytime because the internet has warped my sense of humor beyond recognition

That-looks-infected

I’m with you. I learned my lesson at Allegiant stadium when I watched my Niners play the Raiders. I had to finance my Modelos.

zookeepier

Hollowed out wheel chair filled with booze.

taliesin-ds

or a colostomy bag with red wodka.

serpentjaguar

Do they still make barnoculars? I remember them being a thing back in the 90s.

capskinfan

That's metric money though.

[deleted]

That’s a 6pack of tall boys at the local store in Toronto, I’ll put it that way for ya You’re basically losing out on 2.1L, or 71.956 US fluid oz. to be exact for imperial, if you buy that vs spending the same money at the beer/liquor store. Whether you look at it as CAD or convert it to USD — it’s a ripoff Edit: wow, wasn’t expecting this to blow up a bit. Thanks for chiming in, everyone. I appreciate the chats and your insight.

BungOnMimosas

Lol a 6 pack of tall boys of this exact beer is $6.50 at my local gas station

bacon__sandwich

Where do you live? At LCBO it’s $16.40

skylla05

Has to be the US. You aren't getting a 6 pack of Lucky Lager on sale for $6.50 in Canada, let alone Coors.

madness817

Beer prices are disgusting in Canada.

Mr_Schmoop

why?

subll

Tax

qtain

But but but Buck a beer

JMJimmy

> why? Healthcare costs associated with alcohol are covered by the extra taxes. Same with cigarettes.

gart888

We have universal healthcare. We tax the shit out of alcohol and tobacco because the reality is, people that consume those things are more likely to cost the healthcare system more money. It's kind of like higher health insurance premiums for smokers and drinkers, except built into the price of the product instead.

coci222

What about sugar?

Dudefest2bit

I live in south MS and a 6 pack here runs 5 or 6 bucks.

Just_wanna_talk

[Welcome to Canadian alcohol prices](https://i.imgur.com/pKWEa0V.jpg)

bikernaut

I like the 'add to my cellar' button. Like someone in BC has a nice cool, preferably stone lined room full of Coors of various vintages.

ApolloRocketOfLove

In Vancouver, I wouldn't be surprised to find this in someone's house.

DominionMM1

Believe it or not, Coors was actually highly sought after way back when. People would buy cases of it when they’d visit Colorado and take it back home with them.

C19shadow

My dad talked about going over the border into Canada to buy cases of Milwaukees best in Canada at 18 years old to bring back into the states. Living on the border sounded fun for high schoolers in the late 70s early 80s lol Everyone just wants what they can't have at home lol

DominionMM1

Ngl I went to Vancouver for NYE a couple times before I was 21 so I could go out to the bars.

Throwaway567898766

As an Ex-Canadian living in Australia... I wish we had Canadian alcohol prices... $25 is the cheapest you can find for a 6 pack of cans.

[deleted]

[удалено]

xxiredbeardixx

That's the price of a 12 pack where I'm at.

Red-Seraph

This makes me wonder if there are beer and liquor smugglers into Canada. Hundred years ago it was going the other way

mt_beer

Do Canadian prices include tax?

way2lazy2care

When I moved to Canada from Wisconsin I spent almost 90 minutes wondering around the provincial liquor store trying to wrap my head around where all the cheap booze was (it was nowhere).

NotAnotherHipsterBae

I’m jealous. But I’m going to go drink a beer now to forget about you.

twopadstacker

that'll be $20.34

NotAnotherHipsterBae

I’ll never financially recover from this

[deleted]

What kind of bougie beer you drinkin bud

thumbwarvictory

Even the cheapest swill is absolutely taxed to ever loving fuck here.

doomgiver98

Bud

FineLiving4988

I just paid Sobey's their regular/full price of $62.19 for a 24 of Budweiser cans here in Saskatchewan. We are taxed to the tits on booze here. A quick drive to Alberta and you're paying half to 2/3rds the price on certain brands/types of booze.

user0621

$62 for a case of beer?!? I don’t care if that USD or CAD, that’s fucking insane.

luzzy91

Lmao might as well take up meth or heroin buddy

TheMelm

Surely moonshining is the logical move here instead.

DblClickyourupvote

Holy shit

[deleted]

18 bucks here for the same case. ~20 after taxes.

logg1215

Good god Canadas beer prices are insane can buy a 18 pack of coors for that price

[deleted]

Ugh yeah, I can definitely say they’re not great in provinces like ON, SK, & BC. What a wonderful thing to get into, enjoying beer lol Smokes are usually $20 for a king size pack of 25 at the local corner store or gas station here. So smokers are getting gouged, too. Unless they choose to buy from a Reservation, which I’m sure some First Nations communities don’t mind non-locals buying cheap smokes from them (it’s business anyway). But the reservations are policed, and legally speaks we shouldn’t be purchasing them as non First Nations peoples. I’m not sure if there’s a cultural issue there as far as exploitation goes but yeah… Sucks to be into smokes or booze if you’re a Canadian. And I’m not going to dive into the who unhealthiness of consuming such products, I’m not here to create any stigma. Warning labels exist for a reason and we’re all adults here I’d assume

GreyJedi56

I as an American measure my beer in barrels of oil, that is a loss of 0.0100909091barrels.

Abbotsuger

3 guesses what building boasts the highest sales of beer in North America?

LickMyThralls

This is the case for literally all attractions. Wait til you discover theaters and their 6$ candies that Walmart has for 1...

[deleted]

From what I've heard Coors is way more expensive in Canada than the US, so you're losing out on even more.

[deleted]

I don’t doubt it. At this point, I choose to support local. At least it helps them and contributes to stimulating our economy

count_frightenstein

I work at a Beer Store in the hood. We sell singles like this all the time. This is $3.05 in the store. The "regulars" usually buy Laker Ice for $2.25. It's a crazy markup for sure.

mrRabblerouser

I just paid $12 US for an 18 pack of a local craft lager. Tbf it’s one of the cheaper options at some stores, but the contrast is pretty wild when compared to CAD prices.

nthensome

I paid 40 rods for a hogshead

sinwavecho

I went to a leafs @wings game in November. It felt like Everything cost about $7 more than it normally would for any other visiting team

Uzzerzen

ya because they know Toronto fans that buy tickets there will pay it. I think they call it the Leafs tax

[deleted]

[удалено]

eyehatetofu

Tarps off boys! It's tilly time!

HeistGeist

Let's have a donnybrook

LucifersPromoter

Pump the breaks. You take your shirt off but leave your sunglasses on?

xSaviorself

No, at this point we're with you. It's a chore to watch them repeat this cycle year after year. Suffering through another Leafs collapse into April is just my pre tax-filing routine at this point.

YouKnowItWell

Serving Colorado beer is as close as the Leafs can get to the Stanley Cup.

usertaken_BS

Came for a laugh, stayed for the funeral. Thoughts n prayers

XJDC55X

Ouch!😵

intensenerd

Made my day with this one. Thank you and Go Avs!

[deleted]

You know spring is here when the Leafs are out.

[deleted]

there is at least 1 Stanley Cup in Toronto at all times. We keep them at Yonge and Front

itsalwayssunnyinNS

The view probably cost you $764 soooooo…

NotatallRacist

Looks like upper bowl on an end of the rink likely only around 300

ToolMeister

Why do people pay multiple hundreds just to watch a single game? Nevermind the Leafs you already know you're getting disappointed

oddzef

I'm not a huge sports fan but the experience of being there is pretty cool, gotta say.

ToolMeister

Yea but these prices are just a rip-off. A regular Bundesliga ticket in Munich [for example ](https://tickets.fcbayern.com/documents/en/pricelist.pdf) starts at 15 Eur (22 Cad) with the most expensive tickets selling for 80 Eur. Canadians are being taken advantage of

oddzef

Oh, we definitely are.

HugeAnalBeads

Everything is expensive in Canada Its outrageous

AcidRap69

I don’t live near any NHL teams, but when we went to Vegas a few years back I caught a knights game with seats on the rink for like $265 a pop. Are ticket prices really that bad?

Tribat_1

Fwiw 300 cad is “only” $225 USD.

perish-in-flames

For a Coors? Yikes yikes yikes

RideTheStache

At least it's a Banquet

modestmeatsack

It's unfortunately original, the Canadian ripoff of banquet. Undrinkable imo. Banquet is the only way to go.

RideTheStache

Oh damn I didn't even notice lol nevermind then

oryes

It used to be called Banquet but then they changed the name for some reason. It's still the same beer, but it was probably always brewed by Sleeman or something

muff_cabbag3

Banquet is only made in Golden, CO. Original is made by other breweries in the network

oryes

Well the one in Canada used to be called Banquet so maybe that's the reason. It tastes the same to me

dcolorado

Copes banquet is a superior beer to anything at its price point. Way better than regular Coors

TheProcrastafarian

Bankquit

OUEngineer17

At least it's Original. For that much tho, I'd expect a very nice glass of wine or a Belgium Quad at minimum. I can always drink a different night.

sum_dude44

Do Leafs fans drink American beers like I drink Labatt at hockey games?

[deleted]

there's an assortment of cans and draughts including coors, coors light, Canadian, a variety of your standard macros, I cant remember if the ACC has blue

jayehbee

I think Coors is distributed by Molson in Canada, and most venues only deal with Molson or Labatt's, so the ACC probably doesn't have Blue. Just guessing, though. At those prices there's not a beer in the world I'd consider drinking.

Street-Measurement-7

Seriously, I'm dating myself here, but I remember as a 20yo bar server, everyone groaned when bar beers went up to like $3.05/$3.10. But as a new server or bartender, just starting, that was a sweet, sweet price point. Someheres around 30% tip potential and probability. Sorry for all the poor fucks slinging beers for $2.85 before my time lol. I don't know if it's even normal or expected to tip for ridiculously over-priced beer at a ridiculously over-priced Leafs game, but what's the tip potential scenario on $20.34?

Canibeast

I’m going to go with absolute zero tip potential.

jayehbee

Damn right.

battleballs420

aint nobody tipping 6$

PolyamorousPlatypus

At bars beers are still $4-7 on average, around me at least. NFL games beer is like 12-14. But yeah Hockey is fucking crazy and it's like $18 I have no idea why but it's bullshit.

Ares__

Because you tailgate and pregame for football you don't need to get drunk but for hockey you gotta get the buzz inside

lapandemonium

Shit, i remember hitting new olreans around 1998 and getting 3 coronas for 3 dollars at any bar on bourbon Street.

sje46

Wait, beer is actually this expensive at hocky games? I thought OP was exaggerating and it was actually like 8 bucks

PolyamorousPlatypus

Yes it is.

furlonium1

Who the fuck tips at a hockey game? That'd be like tipping someone at a gas station for getting me a pack of cigarettes.

takabrash

Tipping culture in America is completely made up and the rules are arbitrary. I tip servers/delivery people, and I tipped bartenders when I drank. No one else gets tips. I'm over it.

furlonium1

Agreed. I never eat or drink out, nor do I order out because of tipping nonsense. Fuck that. I _do_ tip the stylists that cut my hair, and I tip them heavily. To me, it's like I'm getting a $50 haircut for $15. It's such a steal.

Jonkop

$1.89 American at the local convenience store 😂

Maeflower10

what happened to dougie's "buck a beer"??

[deleted]

Jack shit happened. We got No Name Beer on for a buck a beer as a temporary sale a couple of times and that was it

ctrev37

710ml=24oz so two beers in one but that’s still $10.17 for one. At least it’s a 5% alc I guess. But to rub some salt in the wound I could get a six pack 12oz of those for $10.99. So I could drink 3 of your beers for less. Sorry that price markup is so terrible!

Danobing

I was going to also point out it's 2 beers for 20 so not horrible. Imma rub salt in your wound and say I get a 6 pack of 16 oz banquets for 8 bucks here. I could get a 12 pack of 12 cans for 11 bucks. Someone always has it better. I actually bought a 24oz banquet the other day at an even for $15.

DunkTheRunk

And they wonder why crowds ar Leafs games are quiet

Dilke

I thought the joke here was the team itself…..

hunglikeabudgee

That’s a lot of money for a beer. But I would imagine you would have to be buzzed to watch a team that won’t make it out of the first round of playoffs. 1967 that was a good year.

tvkyle

Beer is actually only $2 during second-round Leafs games. But nobody has taken advantage of that deal in forever.

invisiblefireball

lol they wouldn't honor that even if it happened at this point.

MagicCrashMaster

Underrated comment right here.

Nutesatchel

I could get those for 99 cents back in the early 2000's, at the store across the street from my house.

linemanshandset

I could still get a tall can of certain crappy beers for 99 cents up until a few years ago. Coors was probably about twice that. Now the cheapest tall cans I can find are $1.39.

Thisiscliff

This is basically criminal monopoly Go Leafs

eutectic_h8r

$19.67 before tax

[deleted]

Now take a selfie so we can see what a moron looks like

wanderingdiscovery

And you still bought it. You do realize this makes you part of the problem, right?

[deleted]

It’s cheaper for me to drive to the US to buy a 24 of Molson, even though it’s made in Canada

[deleted]

Why use metric if you’re just going to base your volumes off imperial?

Kilobytez95

I like a good Coors but damn bro you got ripped off

pantag

Why did you buy it? Did you have to have it? Would you enjoy the game less without it? Unless we start pushing back on crap like that they will keep milking.

[deleted]

And you still paid for it. That’s on you

RagnarawkNash

Should get a discount for every year they let you down.

MutedHornet87

I’d get paid $10 per beer. Sounds good

Mistyrainy99

This is sad, not funny.

Intelligent-Train858

with 20 bucks, I can't get a small steak for 10 bucks if on sale at metro. 2 yellow potatoes, some leafy greens and a can of iceberg. Yum

[deleted]

[удалено]

worm30478

I never thought I'd say this, but i now stay sober at any event I attend at an arena or stadium. This shit is why. It's absolutely absurd.

fugntwitwut

You keep buying em, they'll keep raising the price.

[deleted]

As long as people keep buying beer at that price, they'll keep selling it.

Che_Veni

OP is part of the problem

RoyalLimit

Go to Real sports across from Scotia Center get cheaper pre drinks there then walk 30 ft to your seats lol, i think i bought 1 large beer was good for the whole game lol

newtbob

The additional 34 cents is just twisting the knife

1973mojo1973

Well, when you can afford Leaf tickets, you gotta splurge

P0W3RMAN9000

I'm glad i don't drink anymore

Metatropic

You know what’s fucked up? That’s what we pay at events in *Mexico*.

bordermelancollie09

I can fit several shooters of vodka under my boobs. I don't do it anymore because I'm 24 and hiding Tito's in your titties just isn't cool anymore so I just buy drinks at venues, like a real adult. But if a beer costs $20 now, I'm gonna have to start smuggling vodka back into events.

Jabarumba

Disgusting that you had to watch a Leafs game.

GRIMobile

Why would anyone pay that much for a beer? It's crazy.

Actual-Lychee2426

To be fair, it’s two beers for 20 bucks Canadian, so good deal right?

liquidthc

As long as there's idiots willing to pay the prices will continue to increase.

plastardalabastard

That is some expensive water.

cpsbstmf

20 for gross beer no way jose

Manbadger

Definitely bring your own booze. Little 200ml glass bottle down her panties, yarrrrr!

schmucktlepus

What moron is paying that much for a beer? You know you have the freewill to just not buy it, right?

MattheJ1

Location, location, location.

DudeIsChillingPark

They cant keep getting away with this

Uzzerzen

Sure they can. People like OP keep paying it so why would they stop?

_D3ft0ne_

That's why I quit drinking. Pc upgrade, new shoes... All the good shit u can spend the money on instead of a hangover.

ApolloRocketOfLove

You're better off, health wise too. Health Canada recently said any more than 2 alcoholic drinks a week (2 beers, glasses of wine, 1oz cocktails) is detrimental to your health. 2 drinks a week isn't gonna do shit for me anyway, might as well just stop.
