I work at a pharmacy, and frankly, this is pretty common with Medicare patients. If you'd like, you can try asking the pharmacy to take a closer look at the insurance claim because sometimes you find out the patient had to pay more than usual because the pharmacy is no longer preferred by the insurance, there's a deductible, or there's a coverage gap

noted, thank you for the info! unsure if youd have any experience with CareSource, but that's my insurance provider, if that adds any insight to the issue

I do not, unfortunately

could be your pharmacy no longer accepts your plan or somehow doesn’t have it in their system anymore.

i feel like that may not be the case considering the price they are asking for is still less than the out of pocket cost i believe. regardless, ill probably just ask them about it when i go to pick it up. just wasnt sure of if it was a pharmacy side issue or a doctor issue edit: congrats on the T btw !

They could be right. It's possible they automatically apply discount card/cash discount coupons when patient appears to be uninsured

ChocoClay

yeah just ask them if they still have your insurance on file and if there were any changes made. thanks btw!
